The problem is your neutral safety switch located on the driver side under the transmission it’s squared looking and has a rectangular plug With 2 torx 20 bolts holding it Replace it and it should fix your issue
I dont know if it's a design flaw, I think it's a saftey feature. Mine if I'm not buckled, I have the door open and I'm in reverse the horn will sound if I start to move in reverse. Looked it up online and they said its some sort of feature that was added when my ecm was flashed.
Some Karen designed it, my 05 4x with the cummins also randomly locks the back drivers side door. So irritating. Backing my boat in and open the door and it honks at me, drives me nuts. Also waiting in line, turning it off for a few, starting it to move forward and it gives me three loud chimes. Jees Karen.
Bought me a 3rd gen cummins recently and it is very dificult for it to read park I hate that shit 👎🏼 this alarm scared the shit out of me the first time it went off
@@giojuarez6574 the torque converter went out and I had to have the transmission rebuilt on it. Once I got it back from the mechanic it read park fine. Not sure what they did to the shifter.
When I had my 04 dodge .dodge sent me a notice about possible jumping out of gear with door open. You could take it to a dealer for free. but dodge couldn't fix the problem of jumping out of gear. There solutions was to make it where the horn would blow an the lights would flash. when it jumped out of gear. I didn't take my truck in , for there "fix"
I've only had this on rare occasions, mainly when it's off, parked, unlocked and not even touching the panic button.

I can back my 05 Ram up with the door open. I believe the chime just rings.

Mine honks at me sometimes when i put in park. Sometimes when i start it, the alarm and lights will go off.
My alarm is beeping but won’t start maybe that’s my problem I’m in downtown Gulfport people think I’m stealing my own truck
Do you know if you can adjust the alarm sensitivity. Like a dial like other vehicles.
It's not the security system, it's the truck's response to being in reverse with the door open

I found it's the shift sensor in the trans. So basically just gonna deal with it lol
@@DakGuy05 Did you have to remove the trans to repack the shift sensor problem solved ? On my truck I thought the Speedo cluster unit shorted out.
adjust ur linkage and it will fix the problem
get under truck and Lub the shifting rods by transmicon
