    Awesome for themista to be on two red bull finals on two different games. That's a great distinction for a guy who's not a full time pro and doesn't have much time to practice.

    Did I miss something? I have watched a lot of these games, and I don't think I have ever seen a player upgrade their towers. Am I a fool because I always upgrade my towers?

      Arrow DPS from static buildings is pretty underwhelming at the moment, maybe it gets buffed in the future

      In almost all RTS, especially early game, the tower upgrades are resources that could otherwise go into units and fight for map control. i.e quite useless. However, if your macro is kinda bad and you are floating otherwise, just get it.
      tl/dr (in geeeeeeeneral) pros rarely go towers, as a casual go for it..

      you generally only get towers when you are under heavy oressure

    • @TIMxisxHERE

      Its because the main reason to build towers has nothing to do with their actual damage.
      Towers only do damage when they are massed with other defensive structures. But in most of these pro-tournament scenarios that will be either too expensive, make an enemy dodge that location, or it must be some really static fight in late-late-late game.
      The reason most pros build towers is JUST for the garrison function. That's why the houses are around the towers, not to make them do more damage, but to protect what's inside.

      Rewatch and see how Themista makes clear that attack is the best defence

      Such an obnoxious commentator. Just let boit do it all or bring in another person tbh. No hate just pointing it out

    Maybe the game needs to scale up the competitive maps to nerf rush attacks. These are not entertaining to watch for casual audience.
    It also set a bad light on how pvp looks like in Aom for potential new players.

      I think even on bigger maps there are mechanics to "shorten" the rush distance. For example the sky passages of oranos or the building teleport of cronos. Also the god powers are global.
      So while mosr rushed get nerfed by bigger maps, some others will stay the same

    The caster thinking grass was gonna insta lose/take dmg cuz he did the "considered safe" thor opener vs greek just made me lose all trust in him

    this doesn't look like a good tournament just having 1 play smash every one else. Congrats to the TheMista but this as a tournament looks and is boring to watch nothing but one sided games

    • @hariscapo
      @hariscapo 10 днів тому +2

      the game is built like that, youre able to snowball an early lead if youre better than the other player, so most experienced people just resign. i want to see 2v2 tournaments because those are a little more unpredictable :D

    • @ShirosTamagotchi
      @ShirosTamagotchi 9 днів тому +1

      @@hariscapo Maybe they can also change the balance a bit by increasing defensive options. For example making towers stronger, making buildings and walls stronger in the early ages or making the maps more defensible with choke points.
      But they need to be careful that these defender advantage will go away in the midgame to keep agression viable.
      In AOE 2 for example buildings and walls are very strong and there are maps were you even start fully walled.

      It's up to the players to adapt and learn, this is how every game evolves. Every single game was played on a different scenario, so there was no abuse of a mechanic, just pure skill and knowledge that everyone can learn from and improve just by watching him play. Once there are players that match the early game oppression, there will be more interesting games.
      Because once you nerf the early game aggression, then it might become obsolete and everyone will build eco early without harass and this will make the games more long and boring, without any action early.
      Based on this, this might be the most exciting time of AoM, since the early game is so important and diverse in the ways you can obtain an advantage
