I've been ttc for the past 6 years and had 1 ectopic, 1 miscarriage for the past 3 years! In just a few weeks of taking metformin, I got a BFP on the 4th day after my missed period 😊 really effective! Praying that to have my rainbow baby soon ❤️

I wasnt ovulating. AAAAnd then i started metformin for PCOS and BAAMMM! pregnant that same month. They should really warn you about this! lol love my baby so it all worked out.
Nancy Ortega how many milligrams the want me to take 500 mil twice a day and I was on the iud for only 3 months and when I got it out a couple days later got a period and I have normal periods finally so do you think the metformin will get me pregnant
Christina Smith I took one 500ml at night right before bed. I just started metformin againand it kicked my butt. I forgot to cut it into 4 and take that every other day while I adjust.

Hello ladies srry for the late reply, but unfortunately the metformin made me very ill and I had to stop taking it 😞 the only good thing it did regulate my cycle I no longer bleed for a month long my cycle is very regular now🙌🏿 I started taking some supplements called myo- inositol and d-chiro inositol instead of metformin and it works miracles and it’s all natural!!! I purchased mines off amazon try them I promise yu won’t go wrong!!

Metformin on day one of my last period last month, 2nd day I started clomid for 5 days, today am pregnant after losing my pregnancy last year august at 11 weeks, didn't have my period and was found with a cyst and fibroid in March inserted yoni pearls 3 separately and here we are today am expecting

I've been on metformin for about 5 weeks now. We are doing IVF if I donf fall pregnant naturally this month. I take 2 x 500ml tablets at 6:30 every night.
It can make you feel sick but if you eat something even if its something small before taking the tablets then you'll be fine and not feel sick at all.

FYI, myo insitol is a more natural version of metformin.
Yes, I tried 4000mcg of myo inositol and it didn’t change any levels for me. Stayed the same as if it didn’t have an effect. I think it does work great for some people but it didn’t budge anything for me. Metformin did after the first month! My dr said when it’s genetic, metformin is needed. But I’d definitely try myoinositol since it’s natural
Metformin is FDA approved but inositol is over the counter something to consider
it didn't work for me. I tried 4mg myoinositol for 6 months and nothing changed. Such a bummer. Tried metformin for 2 weeks and wow! Nearly instant. It's always worth trying natural first though. Natural is my heart but wish I didn't waste the time.

Obviously i cant comment on metformin as in how long you take it for as everyone is different...my metformin was for up to 6 weeks of pregnancy.

Ok I have a question cause my endocrinologist prescribed me metformin today but I don’t have pcos I wondered why I’m ttc buy my progesterone is low and I never have a lh surge but she said my insulin blood test wasn’t great but I wondered why they would prescribe me metformin instead of clomid
Due to your insulin it'll help with ovulation

Thats part of the side effects when taking it at first. But later on your body will use to it.
i just took it yesterday after not taking it for a few days and the diarrhea was intense, i wanna stop 😢😢😢
@@Eussub40 did u try cutting the pill in half ? And taking a half for one week. Have to let your body get use to the medication if not then you will have intense diarrhea!!!

Hope all went well... they say best to take metformin with food to reduce some of the symptoms and drink plenty and keep on top of eating healthy.

I think I talk about this in a video, might be this one? At my dating scan she said I ovulated on my right side, and when i checked my Flo app where I logged all my symptoms I did note a pain on my right side around the time I would have ovulated.

My question is. I was recently told by a breast doctor for an ultrasound on one of my breasts for abnormal discharge. My Question is: When I see my OBGYN in July of 2020. Can I actually ask for metformin? Will the obgyn doctor give me the medication so I can conceive? (Of course, after he tests me for pcos) I have irregular periods (I didn’t get my period last month, of November)
My symptoms of PCOS are: irregular periods, skin discoloration, hair thinning/loss, unwanted facial hairs on my chin, cheek bones and neck, & I became overweight... I changed my diet full of fruits & veggies. Less meat. I do my best to avoid any sugar/Caffeine. No dairy products. I have been eating grilled chicken & no beef because it gives me heartburn.

You could potentially have thyroid disease too. Thyroid disease and PCOS play hand in hand. That is exactly what i have and we share the same symptoms. Also avoid a lot of fruit, although it is natural sugar, sugar is still sugar no matter the source. Try to cut down to 1 fruit a day. As far as meats go, chicken is excellent for pcos also salmon. Be mindful of fish because of mercury and you dont want to consume too much if you are trying to get pregnant. Carbs are your worst enemy, it turns into sugar with pcos. Lastly EXERCISE, not hardcore workouts but literally walking 5-6 days a week or light workouts at the gym. If you do hardcore intense workouts the fat you burn will reverse and turn back into sugar and stick back to you. This is of course only if you have pcos. Definitely talk to you gynocologist about options for you. I just started Metformin today and I'm hoping to be pregnant by Thanksgiving. Ive been trying naturally for 2 years now so I'm hopeful. Hannah Lee I did in July. I was diagnosed with PCOS but my thyroid is normal. I’m currently doing keto. Everything for my body i was shown was normal % wise in numbers. I had to give 6 viles of blood and have a ultrasound done by the hospital down the road from my gynecologist. My ovaries do have a few cysts. I was also told by my regular doctor that intense workouts are not what help the symptoms of PCOS.
Can you take metformin if you might still be ovulating with PCOS? I just started taking it but I hope not to really get symptoms

Honestly, i didnt really notice that many symptoms. If i hadnt had the bloodtest to confirm I ovulated & then didnt get my period, I probably wouldn't have even tested. Looking back now, I probably did have some minor symptoms, but not enough to make me think to test!

Have you got positive ovulation test when you were on metformin.. my ovulation kits shows always negative
I didn't test ovulation myself, I was getting blood tests each week to check for ovulation.
Did you change your diet while on metformin? Did you eat healthier or drink lots of water? This week will be my 3rd week of metformin I started the beginning of May. & I’ve been eating better since March, but no period. so hoping this works.
It took exactly for 4 weeks from taking the full prescribed dose of metformin to get my period (so about 6 weeks including increasing the dose). I didnt change my diet at all, I eat well for meals anyway but also eat takeaways/junk food throughout the week.

Yes its completely normal.. Try taking metformin after ur heavy meals to reduce side effects..
Yes it's normal to feel sick and have an upset stomach... Best is taking it with food and drink plenty. Also having a good balance diet should help. The symptoms should ease off the longer you are on it.

You can have an ultrasound scan... but I believe blood tests are better

Hello! Ive had PCOS for a few years now. Currently attempting to get pregnant. The doctor started me on Metformin Oct 18 AND Birth control. I was kind of sceptical on taking the birth control he said it would only be for two months to regulate my period but while taking the birth control also take metformin 3 times a day of 500. Do you think it was a bad idea to take the birth control as well?

Hey. I was diagnosed with Pcos. Gyn gave me glucophage xr.. I had Letrozole and pregnyl shots the same month. But I didn't get pregnant.
I got my periods again this month. I asked doctor if I can repeat the same again she said yes. But I am not yet sure so I did not take Letrozole..

@@lanadiagathers7507 I still am on metformin. I have increased it from 1 a day to 2 a day. I haven't ovulated yet and still waiting for my period but I feel breasts are getting very sore which is good I think coz this means the hormones are doing what it needs to be doing to prepare my body to ovulate. But overall it has really cleared up my cystic acne.

I rung my doctor and they advised to stop taking it, so I'd check with your doctor 😊
I did bt then i miscarried. I read on google metaformin helps reduce the risk of miscarriage so i regret not continuing

My doctor suggested not to leave taking it once you get pregnant because if you were on metformin and after getting pregnant if you leave chances of miscarriage increases ..

I'm not sure sorry, it can help if you have PCOS which affects your insulin resistance. You're best to speak to your doctor!

Same thing happen to me, yes you still have PCOS even tho you don’t have cyst on your ovaries it’s a hormone thing... I’m currently on metformin!

I was told up til 6 weeks pregnancy but that's the advice my doctor gave me...so what mine might say might be different to your doctors advice :)

I'm not actually sure of the type, but it was affecting my insulin resistance. I was only on metformin for 2 months so can't really say, I do feel like my legs leaned out a little but I wasn't really overweight to begin with and apparently most people that lose weight on metformin is usually due to them also eating better (apparently metformin can cause you to be quite ill if you eat greasy foods for some people - but I didnt have that problem).

Yes... take it every day until your doctor tells you when to stop. Don't stop taking it.

Hi, yep my doctor said my levels showed i did have some insulin resistance which helped to diagnose me with PCOS
@@RiverOfBeautyNZ ah ok yeah I ended up taking it for 3 months and it didnt help me get a AF or ovulate.so my dr. Told me to cancel taking it because it wasnt helping me.its wonderful it works for some people though.

How do you require about metformin with your doctor?
My doctor mentioned it was an option, and I did my research and after speaking with a fertility clinic they said I should try it first, so went back and asked my doctor. I'm sure its different in different countries though

Insulin resistance, caused by PCOS. No period. I didnt have any cysts, they are considering changing the name of PCOS because it's not very accurate - most people with PCOS dont have cysts and I wasn't even tested for them.

I have pcos and my dr gave me metformin to start along with provera ...... has anyone had any side effects with metformin .. if so please share with me .. im 28 and ive been trying for a while now i dont have cycles on my own
Yes hun, metformin gave me weakness, joint pains, diarrhea and loss of appetite.
If you don't have a healthy live while in metformin it'll will cause bad side effects, avoid sweets,juice,soda,bread.

Will metformin cure Pcod completely? Will it dissolve the cysts?
No there is no cure for pcos, but metformin helps with the symptoms and balances your hormones out... so if it balances the the hormones out you should be producing a lot less cysts. But there are a lot who are for and against metformin.
But metformin isn't for everyone...so it might help for one person with their symptoms but not necessarily for another.
But my advice is to eat a healthy diet on it and gentle excerises and drink plenty.
