I remember meeting him at the premiere of Lame at the Smithy's Tavern in Les 2 Alpes (Arthur Longo's home resort by the way) back in 2003 ! Such an awesome rider and cool guy ! Those were the days...
Always loved Dirksen, I was a huge Morrow guy back in the day from my first board to selling them up until the K2 buyout. So good to hear some old stories abd talking tech. Josh is always the guy I shout out loud every episode when “most underrated rider” is called out in Hot Takes. Watch his old parts and count how many times he has a sketchy landing…. BOLTS almost every time!
I moved to Bend in 06 from the east coast and rode 165 days that winter and the place blew my goofy footed mind. I saw Dirksen boosting huge ollies on the windlips and it had a huge influence on my riding. Bachelor is a mecca for anyone wanting to slash and bash their brains out!!!!
Growing up as a young snowboarder in Eugene riding willamette pass and making the drive to bachy once I hit high school, this was fuckin awesome to listen to. An absolute legend, who continues to write his legacy. Thank you!
Yeah Josh! Stoked to hear the Peter Butsch and Witt Wear props. Solid. Also, I worked in that Art Department at Morrow alongside Trevor, Jeff and Chris - what an amazing time! Cheers from Colorado! Love, Keeney
The pre guess!!! Also with wider boards it def gives you slower turns but it's more stability and can get deeper on carves in slush or packed pow without booting out. On hardpack/ice wider boards really feel sluggish compared to board that you have a little overhang on, can't really change this it's a physics thing with being able to get more leverage. I like to have a slightly more narrow twin for harder snow and the thicc boi thats more setback and freeride shaped for the surfy slush and pow days.
Great interview with one of the best, really loved hearing about filming with the robots. I can relate to the idea of keeping gear, I just got a new board after 12 years on a Burton Easy Living and replaced an Airblaster kit after 10 years. Lots of heavy use and kit really just wasn’t cutting it anymore, probably pushed it 2 years too long. Replaced with Volcom 2/3L which back in mid 00’s had good experiences with. Prior to 2010 I used to be into replacing everything after 1 or 2 seasons. Trying to keep stuff for longer and really only replace for the family as kids grow out of it, but always gets handed down the line.
3:09:37 Funny cause I literally said the same thing. I don't have any kids nor a GF...😆 But it's on the very TOP of my bucket list! Great answer brother!!! 💚
Yeah Thrashing was the shit, I actually bought a copy a few years back and throw it in the DVD now and then. Shout out to RAD, Gleaming the Cube and Hot Dog LOL
Would love to hear from Travis Parker

Love the POW plug! We need more environmental advocacy, and POW is doing it right. Thanks for sharing🤟

26:55 seriously good on that teacher, using her own mistake as an example for future students is real growth

Yes! Was hoping for a couple of guests from Afterlame
Hyped that he spoke about the Japanese only wishbone highback setup. Seen that thing for years!
Joe Sorren is a killer artist. My first deck was a mid-late 90s morrow, blue alien with flame hair on the tail. Still have it.
Is Dirksen the Keanu Reeves of snowboarding? CORRECT
Big Allister Schultz fan. 👏
What a lovely surprise in bend Oregon at 5:30am
Does anyone know more about the baking technique Josh talks about? Really curious about this type of waxing. (Also more helmet talk - its about time!)
Multi day derby!!!! Let's see it.
I’m going to watch Thrashin after this. It’s been a minute.
The juicy fruit commercial story brought me back.

Pre guessing the video part was the bomb
