- 3 months doing the Trans Siberian Express... To say this was the most epic trip of my life so far WOULD BE AN UNDERSTATEMENT. To return back to Russia and see where a large part of my heritage is from, to see the cities they lived in and to allow myself to get in touch with the part of myself I haven't had the chance to discover, was absolutely incredible. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey so far. I hope you enjoy this video and are ready for all the amazing adventures ahead xx

You are so gently sweet it makes me like all Ukrainians and Canadians.
No, we should be thanking you Alina, for taking us along with you on your adventure. Your videos are educational. PS. Sorry for your loss. Just remember your grandmother is there with you all the time, maybe not in human form but she is always there.......
Awesome video and your presentation style is so organic.Hope to visit Ukraine for a vlog sometime ,
The Russian subtitles also help when learning Russian as well.
Your beautiful videos bring people from the West and the east closer together. Thank you very much.
Aw thank you so much! That's definitely one of my goals with this channel.
This is such a beautiful and heartwarming video, Alina! Congrats a fantastic series on Russia! Each and every video was well-researched and informative, backed with excellent narration, camerawork and music. It helped me understand and appreciate the Russian people and culture on a deeper level. I will definitely make plans to visit this wonderful country soon! 🇷🇺
Looking forward to your content from Ukraine. I'm excited to learn more about this amazing country! 🇺🇦
Thank you so much! I'm so glad the series has had an impact on you and I really hope you are able to visit Russia sometime. Thank you so much for all your support!!!
I always wanted to go to 🇷🇺 and 🇺🇦
Alina welcome to Russia whenever you want❤️😊🌹
Alina!!! I am a huge fan of your content. I've always wanted to reconnect with my heritage in Russia (I moved to the US around 4 years old, both my parents are Russian), and your videos for the past few months have really inspired me to take that leap of faith and finally go. Is it possible you could make a video about how you planned the whole trip financially, regarding work, transportation, what you brought with you, how much the whole trip costed, etc. I'd really love to get an idea of how to prepare. ❤️ Thank you for making these videos and sharing your experience.
Thank you so much! Yes, I definitely plan on making that sort of video because a lot of preparation went into it. Once I get through all of my Ukraine content and am back in Canada I shall make one. Hope you have a spectacular time when you go!
Oh, gosh...don't think too long just take a breath and go!
Amazing!!! Thank you Alina to tell us your story and show us what you feel it. I am so impressive with filling tears in my eyes. I believe this is the best of the best video!!! I will continuously support you and standing by you even if I am away from you.

Dear Alina: I really liked your speech from the beginning of the video. You have said great spiritual truths that everyone should internalize in order to build a better world.
I am always amazed at the incredible way in which God has gathered in you the beauty, intelligence of the intellect and the wisdom of the heart. You are a sun. Kisses.

Thank you for the support!
Alina, you are amazing! Brave! Wow, what a heart! Love is what we came here for!
Some years ago, I was the manager of a Photofinishing Lab, using mostly automated equipment, but there were still some very manual operations. The business hired a young man who had recently migrated with family from Kiev to the USA, Kansas City area, and it was my job to train him in tasks in the Lab. A very polite person he was, and I remember that he spoke only a few English words to start. He would pull out of his back pocket a translation dictionary frequently, and I would help him find the English word. He learned so much very quickly and became very fluent. He was a great guy and gentle soul. This was about 1990, I guess after Chernobyl incident. There was some political unrest and also fear of the nuclear contamination potential. I just remember him as a good person. After seeing some of the locations there in your video, I think how beautiful a place, and how difficult it must have been to leave it, though they felt it a necessity. Thanks again for your beautiful self and desire to share these special places!
Wow! Beautiful video, the beginning was very inspirational ❤️. Amazing music choices too 😊
Very nice and glad you're enjoying your beautiful trip.
Such an amazing work you’ve done ! Best wishes
What a beautiful and eloquent travel essay. I love how you are showing the world a different side of Russia, inviting us to rediscover this often misunderstood place...while perhaps rediscovering yourself, understanding who you are inside. Russia is one place that I agree is not portrayed in a very positive light (along with its big cousin to the south), but I already feel that you will win people over, getting them to reconsider their misconceptions. And, maybe, learn a bit more about who they are as well.
Love this video! Keep up the good work! Looking forward to seeing more from your upcoming destinations. :)
This Video is AWWWWWWEEESOOOOOME!!! Well done for going and just going!!!! Wow!

I love your videos! You deserve more subscribers tbh. I'm born to ukrainian parents but have lived in the west for most of my life and I'm really interested in the way people live in ukraine/belarus/russia
Thank you!
A very informative from Alina, we can understand more and deeper about Russian especially. I promise myself oneday I will visit Russia. Love to follow all your next exploration.. thanks Alina, you are really smart & beautiful too
I finished my own Alinathon, relatively caught up, made a few comments, some she appreciated and perhaps some she didn't. One thing for certain, UA-cam was meant for people like Ms Mcleod (small L). Amongst the noise of the X,Y& Z's, the insta-models and all the woke people, every so often someone comes along who is genuine, with a big heart and an even bigger soul. In search of herself perhaps, in search of her destiny more likely, we viewers are along for a lovely and beautiful ride. Aren't we the lucky ones.
Nooo! Alina had finished her Russian trip! 😣 Thank you for such warm, positive and entertaining blog! It was really a pleasure to follow you on your journey! You are great, I mean it :)
But I got an idea about a sequel. You have already traveled Russia from east to west. Now you can return in summer and travel north to south.
Take a flight to Helsinki - there are a plenty of them. After that there is just a several hours train journey to Vyborg - the old Swedish-Finnish-Russian town with a lot to see. From there you just two hours away from Saint-Petersburg. Come in the White Nights season you will love that city even more. Then proceed to the ancient Novgorod - the place that is the cradle of Rus. After that see the cities of the Golden Ring (Vladimir, Suzdal, Yaroslavl), its said that they reflect the true spirit of Russia best of all. You may once again visit Moscow its right there too. Next proceed to Volgograd - thats the famous Stalingrad in the past where one of major battles of the WW2 took place. Then go to Krasnodar they have a really nice park there. And finish your trip in Sochi - catch a sunshine on the beaches of Russian Riviera. And you are just a step away from Ukraine.
P.S. Kiev is a marvelous city, I also have an uncle and two cousins living there.
P.P.S. Waiting eagerly for your Ukrainian and other blogs! 😊
Fantastic suggestions! Thank you. I do plan on doing something of the like this summer but haven't decided where I'm starting, will depend on tickets. All the best!
@@AlinaMcleod Have a great time on your future travels!
I just found your channel! I'm going to go back and watch your videos on the transiberian express, its definitely on my bucket list. I was in Ukraine for the first time in 2017, I really enjoyed Kyiv and Lviv!
I'm so glad and thank you!
13:44 have a nice day. Congratulations vídeo
You are utterly correct in everything you said about Russia and the effect of travel on your mind. You are incredibly mature for someone so young.
Thank you!

I went to Kyiv last JAN, This was 2nd visit. Kyiv was still fantastic and its ash colors were awesome. 😃😃😃
Plus, I took a film in Kyiv.
Thank you for sharing.💋💋💋

Beautiful Kyiv and beautiful Alina. Excited for more Ukrainian content.
Happy to hear!
Thanks for the information about Kyiv. I'm planning a visit in the summer. Do you think 5 days is long enough to see most of the sights of Kyiv?
Main sights are in central part of the city, all you can reach by walk. Take 1 day for Lavra with thombs and Vladimirsky, and 1 day for central part of the city. If you love museums, its alot there. Also it Must be a food trip!
