Honestly, I'm not a fan of Antigua paint jobs, but that guard on the black Jazzmaster totally works! I like the black guard on the Antigua more too.. good call on both ends!
I used to think that colour looks like (like most ppl probably), and i still do, but holy shit that pickguard looks absolutely INSANE on the black squier. If i ever get my hands on one ill do that or at least something simmilar 100%!
I remember one band called Tigerwine used the Squier Jazz baritones & was inspired by them to get my own in all black back in 2018! With it’s added tweaks like getting the input jack tightened, new toggle switch it still holds up!
Hi! You make a great stuff and thank you for affecting my decision to try out baritone guitar. I have a question. My 30 inch baritone has a reverse headstock and I’m struggling with ordinary strings length. I just can’t reach the 6th string tuner. Can you please advise which extra long strings are there on the market?
3:18 what tuning did your black HB 30inch come set up for? I recently bought one too and to my surprise after unboxing it had ridiculously light gauge strings on it and was tuned close to Drop A…. Which was a huge wtf moment for me. With a 30inch neck, I was expecting it to be similar to my subzero with a .80-.90 gauge low E for that octave down from standard deal. But it came with something way closer to .54-.56 for the lowest string. That and FedEx had smashed it making my only 2 orders ever from HB both show up with substantial damage. They ended up knocking off more than $100 both times and I of course fixed them both. But none the less they completely ignored my spec/tech questions only dealing with the discount. Lame. But whatever, they both play fine now. I’m just curious if yours showed up ready for double low E. I could ask the same thing about the firefly jazz master. I had the same damn problem with firefly. Poor QC this time. Mine showed up missing a couple of the metal cups (ferals spelling???) on the back of the guitar where the butt end of the strings sit. Firefly also only delt with the flaws and totally rolled right past all my stock spec questions. So if you could help shine some light on suggested string gauges and optimal tunings for both axes, that would be beyond much appreciated. The firefly JM I’ve had for about a year and I believe I ended up tuning that on to Drop F with the lowest string being a .68 and it jams… but The black Harley Benton baritone, I just got a week ago and have yet to fuck with it. Hopefully you can save me some trial and error on that one and let me know what tuning and string gauges best suits it. Ps… if you happen to have a subzero, I ended up with a custom set of stringjoy strings on that thing (.90-.22 I think) as well as a pickup swap. I installed a JB-sh4 in the bridge and a 59 for the neck. They paired beautifully and that guitar BEATS ASS now. Oh and I also shimmed the neck making the action play like butter and feel like $$$. If you wanna hear it… I’ve got a video clip on my page of me playing drums and the subzero only with just two tracks panned hard left and right… sounds absolutely fuckin huge. I’ll try to send you a link in a sec.
Amazing collection!!! I hope one day to see Solar 29 inch review from you! Should be sick 🤘🤘🤘I have 4 baritones 27-30 inches and for sure the squier 30 JM baritone is the best one!
Try the SubZero Rogue VI: it's a fantastic guitar (or basstar). I own one and it's such an inspiring instrument. Also, the Aria JB'tone is missing in your collection (I haven't tried it though). Both have humbuckers, which to me have more clear mids and definition in the low range, compared to single coils, p90, and mini hum.
Would u recommend baratones to someone like me with a small pinky and I mean I can barely reach the low E when I first started playing guitar it was hard to do what I liked was play fast
Do you have any non baritone six strings that you just put heavy strings on and tune down I'm trying to decide on getting a baritone or 7 string or tune done a six string I'm leaning towards 7 string
my dude, you should check into the Schecter Hellraiser C-VI and add it to your arsenal. Like you, I like to swap out pickups and try different things. Mostly I use Fishman Fluence Moderns. It's technically a "bass VI" style instrument. but I put lighter gauge strings on and tune it to drop F#.
@@xanderraymondcharles They are both 30” six string instruments. Calling it a bass or a baritone really doesn’t mean much. Most bands that have used with a regular bass and with a guitar even back in the 60’s…there’s no functional difference just maybe how you use it. Most VI’s don’t even come with unique pickups but come with traditional guitar pickups. All 3 of mine came stock tuned to E.
@@sharonlee4773 I’m aware of the designation but there is no functional difference. It’s a semantic point based on arbitrary definitions. How you use it matters far more than what a company calls it. If the definition matters to you then great but it doesn’t to me.

How does the Gretsch compare to the Squier Jazzmaster in these cases (5:07)
Would swapping the Gretsch pickups for duncan jazzmasters be a good idea?
I plan on getting a baritone 7 string soon (27”) an e-ii T-7B it’s a tele

Down to drop-F? That’s tuning a 30” up. Standard tuning for a 30” VI is E standard, an octave lower than a standard guitar.
