Seeing Anakin groaning and wheezing in pain while still trying his best to carry on fighting...💔It’s very hard hitting seeing him like this compared to the young man he was before. He really has hit rock bottom (pardon the pun) and it shows

Seeing Qui Gon after so long, really pulled the heart strings 🥲
Seeing him and hearing him say Obi wan really hit hard for sure 🥹
however there is an problem : Yoda would teach obi wan how to comunicate to Qui Gon and we didn't see that.

It’s amazing to see the prequel trilogy generation just getting emotional about seeing their legend characters back just like the generation before them with the originals. It’s like poetry. It rhymes. Star Wars is just something else…
It really is amazing how they implemented all of the prequel flashbacks and characters in the current year

When Vader says **"I am not your failure"** , his face is covered in blue light as if Anakin Is accepting the apology from Obi wan . Then his face turns red , when Vader returns with darkness . This was so symbolising in a way that even though He's Darth Vader there's is still some Anakin left in him only those who really know him can take out .(Another instance Ashoka ) and Finally Master Qwai Gon for 5secs after two and a half decades
Overally what a great short series which greatly connects the events , also keeping the characters comically accurate . I will be not mad or sad if we don't get a season 2 .

To sum up all your points yes vader tried getting the high ground and it somewhat worked out until he lost haha
The colors are really important here even when vader is talking to obi wan since we hear both anakin and vaders voice mixing together when the colors blue/red shine on him then just red when it’s only vader like it’s so awesome the way this fight and interaction was shot, as for seeing qui gon like the other reactions I had said we need to see him because it’ll be that much more impactful if he can connect to his master within these dark times and it made me so happy as you can see lol

I think it was all complete hatred and disdain. Spitting in Obi Wan’s face to think he ever killed Anakin or was his failure. That sinister smile says it all. Stabbing him and twisting the knife

You can tell that Obi wan got his strength back. He was on the offensive and forced Vader to use a 2 handed grip. That’s what it looked like to me.

Remember he was weaker at the beginning his lightsaber swing couldn’t even go through a stormtroopers armor yet he was at his full potential again swinging it through a rock and I loved the progression he has and his connection back to the force

You can’t help but feel sad for Vader toward the end of this fight. Despite the evil things he has done, it still feels as if he simply didn’t know any better when he turned to the dark side. The wheezing & the groaning from Kenobi’s lightsaber slash really hits you. Knowing who and what he once was before becoming entombed by the suit, and seeing how helpless he becomes once that suit is damaged. It truly is tragic.
Oh yeah it’s heartbreaking for sure, his whole story is so tragic especially after watching the clone wars seeing how close obi wan and anakin used to be
I watched that scene next to my lady, i got up told her i needed to "take a leak". When i returned she said "you was crying in the washroom wasnt you".....I denied it off course.

What a beautiful reaction. This brings Obi Wan from guilt and depression to feeling like he still has a responsibility to fight for the side of light. The scenes between Obi Wan and little Leia pull the heart strings very nicely as well. See you fellow Star Wars fans on the next project! - Love.

This show brought everything I ever wanted to see for a matchup between obi wan and vader, it portrayed his sadness perfectly
Leia was also a great addition and it was so heartwarming to see her as a child

In Rebels, Ahsoka broke off the right portion of Vader's helmet. Obi Wan tore off the left part. Both were during a fight with emotions of anger, hate, grit, anxiety, fear, etc (typical feelings during any fight).
Luke fully removed the whole helmet - not during a fight and with overlapping feelings of caring & love.
Or not . . . and maybe I'm reaching too deep?
Nope everyone that I have seen react to this episode, has made that connection. Its a pretty apparent trifecta of symbolism.

Even through the hate, and regret, the animosity...in the end ANAKIN helped ease obi-wans suffering..telling him it was not HIS FAULT. and the ending scream for OBI- WAN WAS a plea not to leave him alone and scarred again.....

The Obi Wan vs Darth Vader we needed! a great pace and hard hitting even that half Mask Anakin connection with Obi-Wan made me Cry especially when Dark vader Said you didn't kill anakin Skywalker I did you can see The blue lightsaber Glow in his face then back to red Now that was truly emotional moment🥺💙❤
I loved those few surprises at the end too easily one of my favorite Star Wars Finales.
Yes! It was shot really well the colors of the lightsabers symbolizing the emotions and all of the history they have really makes it impactful dude..

Incredible episode! The duel was epic and very emotional, especially when Obi Wan and Vader spoke, but what really got me was Qui Gon's force ghost 😭😭
I share those same exact thoughts like sheeeesh it was so heavy! As I mentioned in my previous reactions I had hoped he would connect to qui gon by the end of the season and I’m so happy now

SWT said about Leia being mind wiped because literally before this episode that was the only thing that would have fixed canon being broken. But Obi-Wan telling Leia to keep their relationship a secret makes it perfect. Now in ANH when Leia says "When you served my father in the Clone Wars etc" instead of "Remember when you saved me as a kid multiple times, Obi-Wan?" she is actually lying and keeping her close relationship to Obi-Wan a secret. Everything is perfect. Theory loved the episode, chill. The show had its ups and downs but the finale was 10/10, I cried a river too.

The story of anakin is sad. He only wanted to save his wife. But we all have choices and he chose evil. He was power hungry and lost again !

The reason obi wan could finally see qui-gon was because of what anakin/Vader said to obi wan …I’m not your failure, you didn’t kill anakin …that lift a heavy weight from his shoulders

This is everything I wanted to see out of a fully fledged Round 2 between Vader and Obi Wan. Honestly though, I did start to feel bad close to the end of the fight when Vader started getting beat down hard. Such a fantastic performance from both Ewan and Hayden. (btw, diggin the ABR shirt \m/ Guardians is a kick ass album lol)
I felt heavy for anakin and all of the trials he went through with obi wan creating their friendship together
They went through a lot as brothers and that makes this much more hurtful to see

Notice at the end When Vader (Anakin) screams Obi Wan twice, one scream is out for revenge for his old master but another scream is pleading for help. In both voices his feelings are still conflicted
I don't think it's a mind wipe at all!!Obi Wan himself told Leia to be careful if they DO contact each other. That's why her message in Ep4 was so "Formal".
Oh no it was just something Star Wars Theory had said that should be done for Leia yet that obviously didn’t need to be the case after seeing this episode.
She does remember obi wan and everything he did for her in A new hope and I personally think it was done well

In A New Hope Leia treats Obi Wan as just someone she knows through her father. That is how she was cautious like Obi Wan told her to be. Anyone who might have gotten that message would think that Leia does not closely know Obi Wan and so would not try to use either one of them against the other for information. Some people just don't want to agree with what this show was doing and complain about it.
I agree it all makes sense and really sets up a new hope quite well for their relationship

What I love about the dark side especially when it comes to Vader is the fact that Anakin and Vader are two completely different people, and I don’t think people see the importance there. When he’s like, “I’m not your failure with the blue light across his face, that’s literally Anakin talking, but then Vader comes along and takes over again to show he’s more powerful in terms of control over Anakin’s soul.
For sure I agree they're both fighting each other and in a way, Anakin is fighting Vader till the day he dies.

I don’t understand why more people don’t get that Leia’s just being formal and keeping her cover in ANH now. She’s not dumb enough to send R2 off with a desperate message that says “Remember when you helped me before as a kid in that time I got kidnapped by inquisitors Uncle Obi-wan?!? HELP MEEE!” Instead the only time we hear emotion slip in is the end when she uses his full name. I would still love to know what Carrie would make of this backstory and if she would alter the delivery of it at all. But really, she’s sending 2 droids off into a seemingly random planet that could likely be captured by Storm Troopers. Of course she’s going to fake no emotion. She’s been doing this for years at that point. She knows she doesn’t have to explain much to Obi-wan.
If they knew of the backstory, I think Lucas would have had Carrie blocked further forward when Obi-Wan dies to show her concern, but I still think Carrie wouldn’t react as obviously as Mark did. If we knew too, it’d be painful to see her know she has to hide it.

anakin turning to the dark side to protect padme is like artist selling their soul for money to support there family..in a way its the same concept. but they are lied to and when i see the the truth its too late and they have to live with it.same way darth had to live with himself and what he did...kinda crazy when you really think about it.
What’s sad about the past when he is talking to Obi wan is that you can hear Anakin crying out to Obi wan. You can tell that part of him that is still good wants help from Obi Wan. Especially when he walks away and he screams his name.
Yes for sure dude, vader is so conflicted during this point in his lifetime and it really shows here, he’s calling for help yet calling to kill

In terms of pacing I really don't have time to watch Clone Wars, but the Micro version yes, I don't mind people watching the computer animated version of clone wars, but when your trying to watch Star Wars in chronolagic order and watch the pacing of the stories move a little bit faster the computer animated version just won't work because it's too long at least to me. Obi-Wan on the other hand is a great, now you can all watch Rebels after this show.
Yeah that makes sense everyone has to go at their own pace here and there, we did watch rebels by the way it was great
Quite simply put. It's Obi-Wan at his greatest. My opinion others may differ. He has always been my favorite character. A noble Jedi yet flawed in some respects with his relationship with Anakin. ( He had to know something about the relatonship with Padme and Anakin. Yet never interfered with the two). However, he always tries to do the right thing. May be right may be wrong again my opinion only.
By the way her reaction is the most genuine I have scene. Most of us feel the same way.

@@HunterW2021 the only thing I may differ with believe Leia said he helped her father during the Clones Wars. Before this shiw thought it was her father that told her to contact Obi-Wan if she was dire straits in a New Hope. Got to watch it again.
