Dissociative Identity Disorder (or DID) is one of the most overwhelming mental illness ever. I had a friend, passed away after an accident, who suffered from this condition. She (or they) was born as Camila, but inside her head, there were Bruna, Joana, Ana and Ellen. Four different girls, four different personalities. She had to buy clothes for each of them, else the triggers and anxieties got worse. She had a very, very, VERY f-ed up childhood, which resulted in severe traumas, triggers and stuff. So DID is something these people use as a coping mechanism. They can't control the switches and some of their personalities might hold some level of suicidal tendencies and try to hurt the body. She slept a lot, so she didn't had to switch. She was constantly tired. The accident was caused by her, driving her father's car just a few miles to buy some groceries. Witnesses said there were some sirens and loud noises because a near house was on fire and there were people being rescued. The main suspicion is that she switched mid-driving, hence why the car was found under a pile of rubble after hitting on a nearby wall. She died instantly. Her father still haven't recovered from the guilt. She was in a good week and wanted to drive a car so much. She knew how to drive because they practiced in the countryside, where her grandma had a small farm. And the streets here are really calm. The father still says that it must have been another personality trying to hurt her. Still, we prefer to believe it was a switch. The whole community felt their loss, just as when they were starting to have a bit of normalcy due to her new medications and ability to finally afford therapy.
This was easily one of my favorite MCU shows I loved the chaos and confusion at the beginning and just not having all the answers handed to you in the first 20 minutes
I loved this show so much and I thought Oscar Isaac did SUCH an amazing job playing both Mark and Steven where the accent, mannerisms, and even facial features change on a dime - so impressive. Plus, I love the theme of "even those with a lot of problems and issues can still be heroes", it's so good. Parts 4-6 are gonna mess with your head even more - I can't wait. Cheers.
I'm a therapist. This is probably my fav marvel show. The D.I.D representation is great. I love ancient Egyptian culture and mythos AND Oscar Isaac (such an amazing actor). Can't loose!
So confusing, I LOVE anything Egyptian, the Kings, Queens, pyramids, Sphinx, hieroglyphs, the secrets, their knowledge, their beliefs ,mummification...just you name it im into it, so this is great! Man you sure know how to pick em Alex, thank you ~again!
According to Google, the "statue" is a street performer working as a living a statue, he is also another Marvel character named Bertrand Crawley. In the comics he is homeless in NY and works as Marc's (The Moon Knight's) informant. On a scale of 1 to Legion, Moon Knight is an easy 5 for confusion.
Just so you know, when either Steven or Mark are their respective Mr or Moon Knight, they are effectively immortal as the literal avatar of a God. That's why they couldn't be killed while in the suit.
Can I just applaud Oscar Isaac's English accent? As a Brit who has winced their way though all too many dodgy attempts, I can honestly say that this is one of the very best I have seen. He gets extra credit for nailing a regional accent and not going down the RP route. I haven't finished the series yet, but he hasn't tripped up once.
Was gonna say the same also as a Brit. When I first watched it I literally had to double check if Isaacs was born in England/had some British heritage, because it is not only spot on it just feels natural.
My cousin is an archeologist. He works with First Nations communities and pipeline companies to make sure there’s no artifacts or historical pieces in planned construction areas. If there are, he then acts kind of as a go-between to help them both compromise on where to adjust the path of the pipeline so it doesn’t destroy or harm their heritage
MOON KNIGHT! FINALLY 🤩 This has become my favourite D+ MCU show together with WandaVision. Oscar Isaac is stellar as Steven and Marc and imo he should've gotten all the awards. In the making of Oscar said he practiced Steven's accent for months before shooting and went method for this role and was talking like Steven for days on end, even with his kids. I also loved the attention to detail the producers put into depicting Egypt (still angry at the horrible depiction of Germany in Avengers 1 which was just a lot of german and bavarian stereotypes mashed together into a completely different part of the country, argh). It's so fun to have to question yourself all the time and look gor little details to see what's going on. THIS SHOW IS SO GOOOODDD

On Episode 1, When Steven woke up in a place like Netherlands or whatever that place is, it is because Marc fell down from a building and passed out making Steven in-control and the entire chase away scene is Marc getting a hold of himself while recovering from passing out and Steven beung a naive of everything making the pilot a dope introductio
I am very late to the party on this one but here are some things!! Firstly Oscar Issac does a phenomenal job with acting as two different people and the only differentiation they have is how they carry themselves. It is 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 Also, your reaction is 100% in line with everyone who watched this as it came out. Just constant confusion and trying to piece together a puzzle but none of it makes sense. A quick note about the invisible jackals. You can only see them if you’re an avatar of one of the gods. Or you throw something on it to help outline it’s shape (ie the liquid Layla threw on it). Moonknight is probably one of the deadliest hero’s (ehhh antihero maybe?) in the MCU. He’s up there with Deadpool with violence. It’s the fact that this man is being driven crazy by the moon god in his head while also still dealing with DID and the tolls that that has on the mind. He’s wild in the comics. A fun fact! The first appearance of Moonknight in the comics was in Werewolf by Night #32. *wink wink nudge nudge* Anyway! I can’t wait for your episode 4 reaction because hot damn it’s a doozy.
Yesssss I was excited for you to get to Hawkeye and you didn’t disappoint, but now you’re finally watching my favorite! As someone who has always been fascinated with DID, this show blew my mind. The second half is even better (but you probably know that by now). I love how confused you were during the first few episodes, it made me feel better about my own confusion haha. I’m happy you’re digging this one! It’s fun to revisit it with you. See you next time!
The real fun of this one IS, that he has no idea what he is about to step into. What's going on here is multi-level twisted. And they don't really stop to explain a whole lot. In the comics, he started out being one person,... and then he wasn't. Then there appeared to be 2 more personalities, then there appeared to be several outside entities involved as well. Then things got really weird. No TV show would want to willingly embrace all of this dysfunction, right? Well, here it is. They're diving DEEP!! It's so brave and courageous to even make the attempt,.. to lay it out and say, this is really really complicated. And is the real danger coming at him,.. or coming from him?
Moon Knight by Jeff Lemire is one of the best comic book runs ever. It's masterful story telling and the art is beautiful. This show is amazing and does the character justice.
So glad you're finally on this show Alex! Can't wait to see how you react to the rest of the episodes... Definitely one of the MCU's best shows ever made.. Oscar Isaac's portrayals of both Marc and Steven are phenomenal! Hes such an amazing actor!
the confusion is alright..we all been through that..that just means they did a great job..MK is one of the best mcu shows, together with wandavision, loki and ms.marvel..great writing, acting esp. by Oscar Isaac..he was phenomenal in here..be ready for the 2nd part..
He doesn’t have to give verbal confirmation, it’s just because now Steven knows about Mark, he can fight him off; whereas before he couldn’t coz he wasn’t aware👍🏽
Legit psyched to see Alex react to this show. It's so surprising if you know nothing about the character. I put it off for a while, but then I was amazed when I finally watched it. It's one of my favorite Marvel shows.
I was hugely impressed with Moon Knight. Prior to watching, it had been a long time since I was desperate to watch the next episode of anything. Overall I think the Marvel Studios TV shows have been great. The miniseries format is a great way to tell extended stories without having to pad it out to a full US season. Moon Knight in particular stands out for me as I think it's on par with the best movies, but a movie would not have done him justice.
Lets hope he gets a 2nd season or as i suspect he apears in blade or an midnight suns movie Litle fun fact moonknight in the comics has faced against kang So i wouldnt be suprised if he pops up in kang dynasty or secret wars
@@joshbrosh6626 Thanks for the insight! I will be honest, I have never so much as picked up a comic. I thoroughly disliked "superhero" stuff before the MCU came along (I cannot immerse myself in the comic book medium and older attempts at turning them to movies never hit right for me), so I have to take the stories at face value. I am of course aware that the MCU borrows heavily from established comic book plots and themes though, so I enjoy the thoughts of comic book fans. I too hope he returns.
Oscar Isaac was absolutely OUTSTANDING in this show. Ive binged watched it twice already and its still my favorite piece of Marvel media, or television series in general.
The guy on the horse at the end was a super villain in the comics. But the actor died while filming this show so they had to cut his part short. (I believe it was a skiing incident)
I think it's good to have shown the DID in all its own because these things are important for others to see how they see and I myself have delt with a hand of stuff like this
I absolutely knew you'd love this series! I couldn't wait for you to discover a new MCU character you knew nothing about to go in like a virgin, lol. Oscar Isaac is phenomenal actor playing multiple characters and should get an Emmy for the quality of acting to play these roles. There is talk that Moon Knight may be part of the next MCU phase, can wait for something like that. If you saw the finally 3 Star Wars films, he played Poe. He's a very well established actor. There is so much detail that goes into this series, you have to pay close attention tot he little things.
There are lots of very well written takes on this show, so I won't cheapen it with my own. Just commenting for the algorithm and to say thanks for giving the good doggo the scratchies
Not getting ''serial killer'' vibes from ya. More likely it's like you channeled your inner Dylan Is In Trouble. That hilariously cute intro with your pupper made my day. Cheers!
I'm glad Oscar was cast in this. This series shows his true potential in acting. He's amazing. Yeah, Marc has multiple personality disorder. Not all of us do though. Read up on the basics of Egyptian mythology and that will help with the show. A suggestion regarding your comment about other types of movies that aren't superhero movies, watch Identity.
I feel like this show flew under the radar. I remember watching it and was so excited that maybe marvel knew what they were doing again. Unfortunately I was wrong but I still really loved everything about this show (apart from the last episode or 2). The way it was a horror at the start and it’s so confusing but everything starts to make sense throughout it, the sound track, the cinematography is all genuinely good
The most interesting thing about this series to me is that "Steven" is our main character, but he's not the original personality in the DID system, but we still really care about Marc. I can't think of another show/movie like this.
One of the best shows I've ever seen.... not just MCU but over all in my 40 year life time... the acting, writing, directing and cinematography is awesome...I look forward to your future reactions
For non-superhero reactions I'd recommend "Ted Lasso": 1s (10 episodes), 2s (12 episodes), 3s (gonna drop some time this spring) Update: s 3 starts march 15th
For a comparable fictional depiction of spirit/body possession, check out the roleplaying game Nephilim. In it, players play AS ancient spirits incarnating in otherwise normal people (throughout history). Your Nephilim takes over while the human spirit takes a mental back seat, and jumps bodies when the host dies decades later. So they rack up "past lives" as eras of history pass (starting, Like Moon Knight, in Ancient Egypt). Actual play is usually just in the modern era, drawing on centuries of past experiences. Similar "how did I get here?" scenarios to those shown in Moon Knight happen when the host briefly wakes up - because the Nephilim spirit was of course using them to have adventures somewhere else...
Thank you for giving Ozzy the pets for us “Why do people do that?” That cup he was using is made of crystal so he was rubbing the rim to make it hum (non sexually of course) “Should I be this confused or am I a dumbass?!” YES Fun fact: the kid who cut his scarf and fell had an image of King Ramatut on his jacket. Plus, I love the theme of "even those with a lot of problems and issues can still be heroes", it's so good. Parts 4-6 are gonna mess with your head even more - I can't wait. Cheers.
You are so right bro he did such a astonishing job acting
I'm a therapist. This is probably my fav marvel show. The D.I.D representation is great. I love ancient Egyptian culture and mythos AND Oscar Isaac (such an amazing actor). Can't loose!
So confusing, I LOVE anything Egyptian, the Kings, Queens, pyramids, Sphinx, hieroglyphs, the secrets, their knowledge, their beliefs ,mummification...just you name it im into it, so this is great! Man you sure know how to pick em Alex, thank you ~again!
Alex, every step forward brings you closer to seeing this stuff on release dates. Keep catching up. We are all here for it.
This show does such a good job at bringing the story together by the end. All the confusion will make sense by the end.
SO glad you're watching this now bro!! Moon Knight and Daredevil are absolutely the best Marvel shows out there imo. This is gonna be a fuckin trip!
Mate, that last transition of you saying “Who tf are you??!!” Was done masterfully.
And I love how u enjoyed the intro music,
Just so you know, when either Steven or Mark are their respective Mr or Moon Knight, they are effectively immortal as the literal avatar of a God.
As a Brit it’s great
as an american, i'm the same with tom holland
My cousin is an archeologist. He works with First Nations communities and pipeline companies to make sure there’s no artifacts or historical pieces in planned construction areas. If there are, he then acts kind of as a go-between to help them both compromise on where to adjust the path of the pipeline so it doesn’t destroy or harm their heritage
MOON KNIGHT! FINALLY 🤩
This has become my favourite D+ MCU show together with WandaVision.
THIS SHOW IS SO GOOOODDD
congratulations 🎊🎉 you won, your among our shortlisted winners, Thank you for watching, and showing love! and thanks for been an active subscriber to my UA-cam channel, we appreciate you by giving you a prize, keep learning from our UA-cam channel.
It is 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Also, your reaction is 100% in line with everyone who watched this as it came out.
*wink wink nudge nudge*
Anyway! I can’t wait for your episode 4 reaction because hot damn it’s a doozy.
Dude, the thumbnail is epic. Well done.
The actor plays as 3 Marvel characters, Moon Knight, Apocalypse and Spider-Man 2099
Woah!
„This actor“ he says 😭 like that wasn’t fucking Oscar Isaac
Your comment is litteraly spoiling the most important things like mentioning DID delete it
Spoiler!
Well hopefully Alex won't read this comment due to all the spoilers here.
@@greyscalesxthe description of the series literally says he has DID, it is not a spoiler
5:32 Alex couldn't tell the statue was a performer. That's a really good performer
He gets it at 15:00
06:41 Doctor Doom’s castle. He’s in Latveria
Moon Knight by Jeff Lemire is one of the best comic book runs ever. It's masterful story telling and the art is beautiful. This show is amazing and does the character justice.
Thank you so much for petting your dog for me ❤
glad someone is enjoying this as much as i did lately i been seeing alot of people turn on this show saying its horrible
I'm so glad you are watching this. Great reaction!
" this Actor super talented i don't even know his name."
I cried in Oscar Isaac's arms 😭🙏
One of the better shows from Marvel. Oscar Issac deserves a big screen Moon Knight project
18:50 wow you got it
Moon Knight is one of my favorite MCU character. Oscar Isaac does a REALLY well performance to play such a complex character!
So glad you're finally on this show Alex! Can't wait to see how you react to the rest of the episodes... Definitely one of the MCU's best shows ever made.. Oscar Isaac's portrayals of both Marc and Steven are phenomenal! Hes such an amazing actor!
This and Loki have been my favorite shows by far. Can't wait for the second seasons of both.
Welcome to the mind bending, trippy and addictive world of Moon Knight. It’s one the my favorite Phase 4 shows.
the confusion is alright..we all been through that..that just means they did a great job..MK is one of the best mcu shows, together with wandavision, loki and ms.marvel..great writing, acting esp. by Oscar Isaac..he was phenomenal in here..be ready for the 2nd part..
Oh shit, it's time for one of the best series Marvel have done
I loved this show, and yes, it's very confusing until episode 5, then everything gets clear... and don't be afraid to cry by then.
He doesn’t have to give verbal confirmation, it’s just because now Steven knows about Mark, he can fight him off; whereas before he couldn’t coz he wasn’t aware👍🏽
Probably my favourite MCU show. Top 3 for sure. I love it so so much. Happy to see you reach it
Legit psyched to see Alex react to this show. It's so surprising if you know nothing about the character. I put it off for a while, but then I was amazed when I finally watched it. It's one of my favorite Marvel shows.
Final-f**kin-Ly!!! I’ve been waiting for this series!!!!!
I hope it doesn’t disappoint
Rip to the actor that played Anton. Dude is pretty good in this show.
as an egyptian, this show was soooo cool - especially that they actually filmed some episodes in egypt
Lets hope he gets a 2nd season or as i suspect he apears in blade or an midnight suns movie
Litle fun fact moonknight in the comics has faced against kang
So i wouldnt be suprised if he pops up in kang dynasty or secret wars
@@joshbrosh6626 Thanks for the insight! I will be honest, I have never so much as picked up a comic. I thoroughly disliked "superhero" stuff before the MCU came along (I cannot immerse myself in the comic book medium and older attempts at turning them to movies never hit right for me), so I have to take the stories at face value.
I am of course aware that the MCU borrows heavily from established comic book plots and themes though, so I enjoy the thoughts of comic book fans.
I too hope he returns.
@@ryanodriscoll understandable hooe you keep enjoying the mcu
@@joshbrosh6626 15 years in and going strong!
@@ryanodriscoll same
And i cant wait when they start introducing the mutants and f4
Plus bring our big boi galactus properly on big screan
Another good job done, Mr. Goochman! Fun watch as always. Looking forward to you finishing the show
This was a really fun series and I'm glad you finally got to start watching it! 💕
Wooooh! So good indeed! Your reactions too! So excited for the future episodes. Haha. Thanks again for this Alex! 🔥
I love that when I watched this for the first time, I knew the opening scene was going absolutely freak you out. 😂 Those mirror neurons, man!
Crazy!!
I think it's good to have shown the DID in all its own because these things are important for others to see how they see and I myself have delt with a hand of stuff like this
"I don't understand what's happening!"
Neither does Steven. Poor guy is not having a good time.
Oscar Isaac is an amazing actor. I really saw Steven and Marc as two different people. He did a great job.
Totally agree!
I love this show so much. Can't wait for part 2
Those pets were from me! I also let him know that he’s a good boy and he can have all the treats!
moon knight is chaotic AF and i loved it
I absolutely knew you'd love this series! There is so much detail that goes into this series, you have to pay close attention tot he little things.
moon knight is so different that he has defeated many avengers, the bad guys fear him, the good guys fear him, I think even deadpool fears him
You said you don't recognise actor in this: Oscar Issac also plays Poe Dameron in Star Wars 6, 7, 8 (the pilot with BB8 and the sharp X-wing moves).
THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS SHOW AND PLEASE KEEP IT COMING I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT YOU THINK OF THE REST OF IT!!!
never mind dude you did the whole thing WOW THANK YOU
Mark/Steven is played by the amazingly talented Oscar isaac
There are lots of very well written takes on this show, so I won't cheapen it with my own. Just commenting for the algorithm and to say thanks for giving the good doggo the scratchies
I needed that intro. Thank you. You are awesome!
Not getting ''serial killer'' vibes from ya. More likely it's like you channeled your inner Dylan Is In Trouble.
That hilariously cute intro with your pupper made my day. Cheers!
Glad you're gonna watch this show.
It's so good.
It's been called DID for quite a few years now
30:29 the exact moment Alex tells "Caleb" to knock it off
Remember that you said that about him facing the mirror showing “3 of him”
I feel like this show flew under the radar. I remember watching it and was so excited that maybe marvel knew what they were doing again. Unfortunately I was wrong but I still really loved everything about this show (apart from the last episode or 2). The way it was a horror at the start and it’s so confusing but everything starts to make sense throughout it, the sound track, the cinematography is all genuinely good
This show had me confused as hell at first but I liked it and his costumes are badass
The most interesting thing about this series to me is that "Steven" is our main character, but he's not the original personality in the DID system, but we still really care about Marc. I can't think of another show/movie like this.
"Wait! Steven?! Mark?! WHO DAFUQ ARE YOU?!" 😂🤣
ok I love the editing in this sm
Major props to the editor!
One of the best shows I've ever seen.... not just MCU but over all in my 40 year life time... the acting, writing, directing and cinematography is awesome...I look forward to your future reactions
Couldn't agree more!
Finally bro glad you drop this moon knightsss. 🌙
Y a get an instant like for that intro wit da doggy... though usually it don't take much, you Always deliver great stuff. And it's always appreciated.
BEST MCU SHOW SO FAR
“Who the fuck are you” the way you said that is hilarious 😭
I'm a comics nerd, so I was ecstatic when Moon Knight came out. They are one of my personal favourites.
If you scan the QR code on the storage locker you get a free online comic
Mr.knight is the best costume in fiction
For non-superhero reactions I'd recommend "Ted Lasso": 1s (10 episodes), 2s (12 episodes), 3s (gonna drop some time this spring)
Update: s 3 starts march 15th
I’ve heard good things!
Thank you for giving Ozzy the pets for us
“Why do people do that?” That cup he was using is made of crystal so he was rubbing the rim to make it hum (non sexually of course)
“Should I be this confused or am I a dumbass?!” YES
Fun fact: the kid who cut his scarf and fell had an image of King Ramatut on his jacket. King Ramatut is another version of Kang who is another version of He Who Remains from Loki
Sadly the actor who played Anton passed away in a ski accident before the show released
There’s so much I could say to help Alex’s confusion but I’m gonna wait. I’d rather watch him try to piece it together himself 😄
The city where Steven got the scarab from is almost certainly Doomstadt in Latveria (A subtle little nod to Victor Von Doom, who we all know will be appearing soon)
YES, MY SECOND FAVORITE MARVEL SHOW IS HERE! I really hope Alex enjoys it because this one only stays behind Loki for me , but very close tho. Just change the finale a bit and this would probably be my top 1.
