My father used to always whistle a beautiful tune when I was growing up, and it has since stuck with me, especially after his passing. Always thought it was just some random tune, so imagine my shock and surprise when I heard that very same whistle tune come blaring out of the blue from a nearby radio the other day!
What an incredibly beautiful song, it'll remind me of a heartfelt memory every time I hear it. Very grateful to be able to learn some more of what my father was like through his music taste!

God, wasn’t life an experience back in the 80’s and 90’s? You were forced to get out there and talk to people and that’s when you met the best people in your life! The memories… I’m sad to age, yet so grateful that I was young when I was meant to be. Today, these younger people could be best friends with AI. Video games of killing and everyone too engrossed at looking at their cellphones than having real conversations. I was 20 years old the night the Berlin Wall came down. I stayed up for hours watching it happen on live TV. Having grown up during the Cold War, it was nothing any of us thought could ever happen. But it did. This song captures the feeling of the time perfectly. Relations with the Soviet Union were improving, and the looming threat of nuclear Armageddon seemed to be fading into history. Fast forward to today.. how did things go so far backwards? It seems to me like many have forgotten those dark awful days of the past. Perhaps they need to listen to this song. Perhaps the whole world needs to again

This song perfectly encapsulated the brink of destruction we pushed ourselves to in the time it was made. Now it perfectly encapsulates the cycle we seem damned to repeat. I remember the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Persian Gulf war, and the wreck of the Exxon Valdez all too well. I hope the Scorpions reach a billion views on this, they deserve it.
I lived through all that too and it's heartbreaking to see so little progress by the world leaders in that same time. I truly believe that majority of people not in power have similar feelings and would be brothers if not for the political leadership

I'm from the UK. I remember as a child watching the Berlin wall come down. It is one of my strongest memories. My grandmother was upset at a unified Germany but I was so excited. I remember the warm feeling of intense hope and was so happy. I still feel this when I hear this song. I well up inside. If I could go anywhere in time I would go to Berlin on that night.

I have always loved this song and it affects me on a very personal level. The winds of change in the late 80s and 90s opened a whole new world for me and many more. My Russian wife was allowed to come to Korea to study in 1998. I was teaching English in Korea and one night I met her and fell in love and followed her back to Russia where I took a job teaching English. Without the winds of change we would most likely never have met and our two lovely daughters would never have been born.

Awesome my brother... I went to see my Ethiopian friend who had caught ALS and decided to go home to die. We have been friends for 35 years he became an American citizen. I went back to see him twice in 15 months. The first trip his friend introduced me to the most wonderful Ethiopian girl. We communicated for 6 months I went back to see him and married her. Here we are seven years later Wonderful wife and a beautiful four-year-old daughter! Life's most WINDERFULL dream! 🙏💞
