Today I'm reviewing the Carpuride 10.3" unit. I've been using it in my car for the past 4 weeks and it's been excellent. I wanted to avoid having to rip up my dash, along with the risk of some other built-in things like the climate control and the backup camera no longer working like they should. This fits the bill!

We tried to get a shop to put something like this in our 2017 Prius v that did not have carplay and only had entune. Didn’t want to tear up my dash so I ordered this and just got it yesterday. I am going to set it up now. Thanks for this video.

It looks like the way the arm bracket is positioned the arm is still rubbing and marring the top of the dash as it moves back and forth going down the road.
Hey. I believe your car does have an aux port! I have the 2008 Infiniti G37s (almost identical interior) and it has one hidden inside of the center console. It is in the form of the RCA (Red/White/Yellow) input. you can purchase a RCA to AUX cable and it functions exactly how an aux port does.
In 2010 they changed that to a USB interface. Trust me, I know. I’ve been driving the car for 5.5 years.
I am amazed at how easy this thing is too set up. Now I just need to figure out where to place it in my car. LOL!

@@bryandsouza9905 as I mentioned in detail on the video, you have three options: Bluetooth, 3.5mm Audio Jack, or FM. I am unsure which of those your particular vehicle supports.
I dont know if your car has rca ports or not but my g37 does. Buy a rca to aux cable and plug the aux into the device. Better sound quality than fm transmitter.
I would if it were an option - it’s not on my car :(
Note that in California, I believe you can't attach any devices to the windshield. So, mounting to the dash is definitely an option you may need to take advantage of.
Great call out. Always follow your state and local laws on these matters. It’s not on issue where I live in Tennessee.
I need to do an update soon. I ended up mounting this thing to the dashboard. I don’t regret it.

Hi, did you find a way to remove or hide the logo? I'm thinking of just covering the bottom edge with black tape.
How do you keep the windshield mount from coming off the windshield. Do you have any tips. My experience is over time they give way and the device will fall of the windshield. Any advice would be appreciated!
My only advice is to be sure that the surface area of both the windshield and the suction cups are as clean as possible, and maybe slightly dampen the suction cup. I will tell you, I eventually did decide to mount this to my dashboard by using screws. Very permanent but I love this set up.
Does anyone know how to set this up so that calls and my Bluetooth audio still come through my cars Bluetooth system but Google maps still works on the carpuride?
Good review, except the fact you didn't show how the none android auto apps works. Even if it isn't safe, it would be nice to know how that works.

Yes! I’m using my own USB-C to A cable, and I just tucked it into between the dash and the windshield. Out of sight, out of mind.

Awesome! And no, the DC ports does not draw power when the car is off, so the Carpuride unit automatically turns itself off and on in cadence with the car.
Do you think it is possible to remove the logo with something like acetone? Or is the logo below the glass? I really dislike the big logo on these units. Thanks!

These are great except the fact that none of their products work with Polarized Sunglasses which is a huge oversight. Cheaper brands do work with them which is really odd.

I believe I misspoke in Brian’s case. My glasses don’t appear to be polarized. I would welcome any insight from another commenter who can test this.
i have a range rover sport from 2011 and i have been thinking to get this same model , for me i like the sound that comes out of the aux jack rather than bluetooth therefore currently i just put my iPhone through that. but since i don't use much the infoterteiment system i would 100% condor purchasing this. i m just going to measure how much space do i have for it. then i will let you know how it went . Can you do wifi to the device for Carplay and still use bluetooth to the car for telephony?
Do you have any trouble with the iPhone Bluetooth trying to connect to the cars native smart features? Have 2016 Honda Odyssey and I could see this being an issue. Thanks
Not an issue in my 2011, since it’s Bluetooth options are limited. At worst you might have of “forget” the car’s Bluetooth settings in your phone.
I bought a unit from this company and the power button didn't work allowing me to turn off the screen at night. The unit is functional but I can't use the top physical button. It's not a deal breaker but when dealing with customer service its a joke. Good luck having them warranty it. The sound quality isn't good.
Very good video. A few questions. How long is the cable from the unit to the 12v plug ( one you bought, 10 foot or 6 foot). And what brand/model car in the video.
Thank you! I’m my case I used a 10 foot cord with an additional 6.5 foot extension, so 16.5 feet total. Zero issues. This vehicle is a 2011 Infiniti G25x.

Crap-uride is way overpriced for what it is. Portable carplay/AA devices leave a lot on the table compared to in-dash units price wise.
Atoto P8 has a front cam & DVR & even a remote but only a 7in screen. Hopefully these companies will put more focus on the portable side

My car has a cigarette/DC adapter inside the center console. I have it plugged in there.

great info. can you tell me how loud does go when you have your car speaker at 50%, does it match the device? I have a cheap one, a different brand, and I am unable to hear the sound through my car speaker and can't hear Google speaking.. the device is super quiet, I have to turn my car speaker up to the max to hear it. it's not good. so I am a bit concerned about buying another device as I have been thinking I should have brought Carpuride instead of the brand I currently have.
Don’t buy this just for a speaker. It’s not great.

I have a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe. Can I get a cigarette lighter aux plug to run it through my car speakers? I don’t have an aux plug in nor does my stock stereo have Bluetooth capabilities. I can run it through the fm function but I have seen comments saying the sound quality is bad. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The cigarette lighter plug will only provide power. It’s a completely separate system from your cars sound system, and there’s no way to send wired audio across this connection. It sounds like the FM transmitter option is your only option, and just know on the front end that I’m telling you that it won’t sound great.

My car has a very good radio system and Bluetooth I use to make phone calls and the quality of the microphone is very good,
However I don't have CarPlay so I want to connect my phone to this until to use apple CarPlay mainly for Google map but continue to use my car's microphone, radio, Bluetooth, do you think this unit would allow this?
If you’re able to stream music across Bluetooth in your car, I think you’ll be fine. My car doesn’t have that option. You’ll just connect the Carpuride unit to your car’s Bluetooth. So your phone connects to Carpuride > Carpuride connects to your car.

If you’re in CarPlay, go to the Car Home app. From there, it’s under the Transmit option.
Any information about the sound? I purchased another smaller model several years ago and the sound was so bad that was useless. I tried all kind of attempts to make it work like use an power amp, I tried hardwired, etc.. I ended trashed.
I think I was pretty clear with how I consider the sound a downside, at least in my experience.
Did you have any trouble getting the phone to work? I just got the w707 model and I can't get the phone to work. I can initiate and answer the call, but I'm not getting any of the phone audio.
The internal mic isn’t great. I don’t talk on the phone much, but when I do I have an AirPod in.
How does it do sitting in a hot car all day? Does it have to cool down before it comes on just like the phone?
Zero issues so far, but we haven’t gotten much higher than the low 80s F here yet.

Honestly, I don’t really understand these devices. They are basically the new navigations from the pre-smartphone era. But, what’s the point? You can use the smartphone. It does not integrate well with the interior.

No issues here. Your mileage may vary, but from my experience, most cars turn off power to the DC ports when the engines aren’t running.

Those suction cup holders look like crap. I make my own out of sheet aluminium and wedge it anywhere it will fit in the dash.
