Thanks for sharing your video I'm khmer living in Montreal from 1983 to 1993 in 1993 i moved to Toronto Canada and i live in Toronto ever since now I'm 66 years old just retired recently but I have to wait for my wife to turn 60 years old now she's only 56 years old my plans we want to retired in my home country Cambodia from November to March and try to get away from the cold winter in Toronto Canada 🇨🇦 and April we come back to Canada to see my childrens and grandchildrens thanks again take care bye from milton Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
Ontario 🇨🇦 here ✌️✌️ I'm still thinking should I keep a small apt here and come back to 🇨🇦 from may-oct or just move somewhere which you never know what you could be into fully however plane fare isn't cheap either back n forth 2 times a year. At least cambodia is your home country and could get along quite well there. Best of luck for you !!
I have never met such good welcoming people . Almost no crime. 5 years here and I feel more relaxed and comfortable than anytime in Australia. Glad you are enjoying life in Cambodia.
Thx Dave !!!! Lookn forward to yet another video !!! Stay heavy !!!🤟🤟 Weather is a major factor for me I dispise the winter. !! And just having one small pension there's no way I can retire early here in 🇨🇦 🤟🤟
Hello from Canada 🇨🇦 I know your pain with the Cold i live in Alberta. I am also a retired Military 25 years and i am looking for the best SEA, yes people are always #1 with me
Ont. 🇨🇦 here..just over 1 yr out from taking cpp early and my pensions ....single for over 20 yrs no way at this point am I looking for a Canadian girl staying here and living close to the poverty line 😂😂
I visit friends in Cambodia every year. I totally agree...Cambodians are friendly. So are the people in neighbouring countries. Here is a piece of advise: Stay away from foreign mass tourism AND from integrating with Expats rather than the local culture. If you do these 2 things you'll live a happy life over there. Cheers from 20 HAPPY years in Vietnam!
There's definitely a different vibe in heavily touristed areas compared to all local areas. Not just with prices but attitude. Twenty years in the 'Nam? That's awesome!
Well now Dave -- I am really surprised by your # 1 - 'reason' - for moving 'to' Cambodia. --- It is '''identical''' to many -- ( numerous ) -- opinions I have heard about the Philippines - on dozens of videos the past 2 years - while searching out '''my''' ideal retirement destination. Identical !!! The heart warming similarities appear 'identical' from many sources over there. The Buddhist culture 'appears' to have the influence and/or results - as does Catholicism to the people there. > Both are very happy and very friendly and very welcoming - while being very poor by western standards. -?- I am really drawn to both cultures - very much so - for many of the very same reasons ! = Just my observations.
If retired.. Do i have to report marriage to a Cambodian to any pension source lik Social Security..or on Federal taxes. I will never return go the U.S
eh ??? 100F + temperatures in recent months... and it will be hotter in the future. No mention of the corruption. Once you get into rural Cambodia, you need a local to help you sort things out like transport - no street addressees in rural areas so you need to know how the postage system works - or even buying a motorcycle. 6 months in the North of Cambodia I only saw one other White person.. it was so unusual he stopped to talk to me. He was from the Uk with a Fiipina wife. French fries are expensive - why not eat rice ? Very few businesses have a website, so it is down to who you know to find the things you might need. The best thing is the Visa. You can get one on arrival and you do not need a return flight or flight to exit Cambodia. Medical needs thinking about - Khmer hospitals have an appalling reputation - but pharmacies will supply most drugs without a prescription. Roads are the worst I have ever known that is outside of the few cities. Someone is wearing Rose tinted glasses... but in terms of the people - and it is the same for The Philippines and Thailand (I don't know about other SE Asian countries), a breath of fresh air in comparison with the typical western self-centered arrogant entitled person - but be respectful to Khmer, treat them as an equal. Khmer know they are poor (other than the small number of corrupt people ripping the system off) so if they see you are OK with their humble existence they will warm to you. Do you know what a squat toilet is ? Two entitled arrogant western 30's brothers from a wealthy family in NZ are sitting in a Bangkok prison waiting for their case - where they drove past a policeman who ordered them to stop (on motorcycles), he tracked them down, they attacked him, took his gun from him resulting in the discharge of a round AND it was caught on someone's cell phone. They also tried to bribe their way out... - I hope they get 10 years - don't be like these people.

Always great content Dave. Thank you!
Thank you very much!
You making me hungry man
Cost of living of course much much cheaper than the west. I just had a holiday to California and it was really expensive I was shocked
I see videos of New York and people paying $15-$26 for a SANDWICH! Boggles my brain lol
Thanks for the video !
# 1 should be the best infrastructure and best hospitals 🏥
Iam moving there just for the french fries..
I don't blame you lol! I told her she needs to get a cart and sell those.
all tourists should give the cambodian ppl when they visit ,, everybody loves cambodia and everyone should donate for all their hardships
All I can tell you is that most Cambodian will find a way to have fun either drinking or karaoke year-round.
Chicken and fries sound definitely delicious… yum yum yum… lucky you and Autumn…
Absolutely fantastic it was! Amazing fries
I’m in SW Michigan.. peace and love to Cambodia
Greetings fellow Michigander!
Agree entirely!
I agree with you Dave! Thr Kingdom of Wonder is the place to be ! 😎✌
And you know this dude! You even ate durian lol
Agree! SEA's people are number 1!
I mean, it's not only affordable country and cheap but let talk about the word "home", if you truly love home then Cambodia is for you.

Great video! Do you have any information on finding household help? I will be moving there soon but I will need household help. Thank you ❤❤❤
Do you mean help around your house or help finding an apartment or house?
Help around the house, basic cleaning, cooking, childcare, etc
Great story..
Thank you!
I found the touts there extremely annoying. They are everywhere.

Reason - it’s cheap
The begging for money and the book sales right away in the video is too opportunistic and a turn-off to exit the video.
