Cambodia's Best Beach Town for Living or Retiring
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 чер 2024
- Kep, Cambodia is the most charming place in all of Cambodia. It's a beach town - best known for its delicious food. Fresh seafood is on the menu, specifically blue crab, which can be found in all of the crab shacks located right on the ocean. Every incredible meal comes with an equally incredible view of the Gulf of Thailand.
Kep is also nature. Beautiful birds, lizards, the occasional money, and an immense collection of flora, including fruit and peppercorn trees.
Kep is growing, and I'll show you the new sailing club - a beautiful building on the coast - the most modern building in the province. We'll do a quick tour of the town and see just how charming this part of Cambodia can be.

The mat guy and the crab lady actually said 20000=5$ and 50000=12.26$
That guy said 20,000 ($5) - it's the standard price everywhere in Cambodia for renting this type of chilling out space. The lady selling the crab said 50,000 not 5000 (pretty certain). Literally no one in cambo sells a KG of blue crab for 5000, if they do, run lol
I wanna go to there
My best friend and I just moved to Kep from Kampot. Great video guys, thanks for sharing! 😎✌ We ate at "Kep Sur Mer" also, at the same table. lol :)
My family used to have a cabin on the hill overlooking the golf back in the 60s there. Kep is still a sleepy town today. Only memory lives on. Peace✌️
I can claim that I am the king of black pepper sauce many of my friend nickname me that :))
Kep and Kampot are the most underrated part of Cambodia.
Go Sara go..!
Woah I just came back from Kep. Amazing place! Don't miss the lovely bicycle/motorbike ride through Kep National Park. They just paved it!
good job bringin' back ol' Sara, thats your meal ticket buddy !
Kep looks amazing, I’m salivating for all the delicious seafood, lucky you.
Kep is one of my favourite places in Cambodia I have stayed at Sabay, beautiful place. I loved the restaurants and the crab market, loved going to the market first thing in the morning and getting freshly cooked pancakes.
Kep needs the crab water fountain just like Kampot’s sea horse…
We stayed at the same place. It was really nice and good value.
So beautiful kep I really miss a lot the last time I went there in 2016 it's a long time ago thanks for sharing your video take care bye from milton Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
Such crabby vart… Ichy at his crabby best 🎉
Definitely Keep delicious
It's always very informative when you know how much everything costs. I really like that about the videos
Great vid! The guy said 20,000r when you asked him how much.
Great video as always. Keep them coming.
This is great Ryan. I may just pop over during the school holidays from next door. Miss Liza
Thanks for sharing beautiful Kep.
I ❤️ Kep
Great video. Thanks 🙂
Thanks for this, not a place we'd considered before. 👍🏻
I can not resist watching this video. The whole video have my mouth watering hungry.
I'm Cambodian 🇰🇭💚🙏. Welcome to Cambodia 🇰🇭 🫶 🙏 💐. Thank you so much for visited my country 💖💚💖. I Wish you Good Luck Good health everyday and every time 🙏💚.
I bought rambutan from that same lady....funny to see that...the Hotel is nice..has a very good cocktail bar. Kep is nice, unspoilt, and peaceful...good roads to ride your moto...nice restaurants, friendly people.
The guy at 13:00 - he was tenderising the sea. Makes your crab meat less chewy. You’re welcome.
Nice upload. Thanks!
heyyyyyy me no #1! (ummmm what happened to your gear? lol getting seasick)
Kep, beautiful local people. Very happy, helpful and treat u like family 🙂 such a quiet, laid back place with plenty to do and look at in the surrounding areas.
Loved Kep and the crab and pepper sauce.
Oh well, looks like I'm gonna get written up by the boss again, for dicking around on UA-cam instead of doing my actual job.
I just got this notification, and am not gonna stop watching because of some "job".
Worth it !!
Your wife is on line 2 on hold she said she has something important to tell you about her boyfriend.
@@dimitar297 I wonder what she has to say. I hope she's alright.
@@AdamEgret turns out it was the other Adam's wife on the phone no worries.
My favourite place in Cambodia . Thanks for making me my second home
Thank you for the video. Can you give any more insight into the "Living or Retiring" in Kep? Nice to see peppercorns, restaurants and snippets of the beach, but did you see any rentals or food markets - what are the costs and availability like?
Beautiful place. It's on my list of places to see when I visit Cambodia later this year.
Let's hope that maintaining it's charm is a priority. Over development would be a shame.
Kep is small, but really nice place ❤
i love eating crab! i wouldn't mind living in Kep. i would eat crab all day, everyday!
the word "MUUN" means 10K riel. So, when the crab lady said BRAM MUUN, she was saying 5 x muum ... i.e. 5x10K = 50K riel (12.50 USD)
Kep-sur-Mer during the French era. Sounds nicer? When I first visited there were still some Khmer Rouge there.
Remind of Maine USA… delicious seafood 🍣 small town feeling.. people live off the sea…
Ryan, at 5:25, he understood you very well. Your Khmer is shit (no offense) because you didn't understand him 😂. He said, 20,000. I beleive that's $5 US.
😂 always enjoy watching your videos
You stayed around the main tourist areas of Kep and so missed the Kep Natural Restaurant and Noodle Soups Restaurant next to 24 Mart a click or so past The Rabbit Island Pier also Kep Coffee behind the Gas Station at the Pier... How long are you folks in town for?.
You also forgot the best Fish N Chips in town beside the Pier Gas Station, opposite Delis called Captain Chinns... Three great Italian places also.
My favourite place in Cambodia and those restaurants have great food
Coming to siem reap in July for a week like to rent a car to Kep instead of going to Sihanoukville Better idea?
Depends if you want city or nature. Beaches are probably about the same, unless you go over to Koh Rong. You can leave your car in a covered lot at the pier in Sihanoukville. But Kep would be nice with a car because you can drive to Kampot, pepper farms, mangroves, Bokor mountain.
Ok thank you so much think I’ll go to Kep this time around 👍🏻
Is there any street / affordable food in Kep?
I think in the town by Kep market you can probably find cheap Cambo eats.
Bro what is with the shaky filming. Made me feel sick
Well don’t watch it - clown 🤨🤨
Great location but the influx of tourists has pushed up the prices in restaurants. If I were to retire there, I would buy my own crabs directly from the catchers and cook them on a BBQ at home. Just because they use USD $, I am not paying US prices in Cambodia or any where else in south East Asia.
that giant crab in the water is SO tacky !!
Gotta visit Kep.
My Khmer girlfriend yells at me for calling it Kep and not "Kaep" calls me stupid barang
🇰🇭🇺🇸❤️👍 !
Once you get old - - I have - - you haven't - - yet - - but once you do - - 'health care' - ''quality'' - becomes important. 🤔 Cambodia doesn't provide much "peace of mind" when specialty health care needs consideration ? - - - Perhaps Siem Reap where 1 hour flights to Bangkok can be had for quality affordable medical services ? -- International food I hear can be had there - not exactly fresh seafood - but very good ?!? -- A visit to the area - like your doing - should be good enough for me - also - just like you !
It’s 20,000 … Itchy is not as smart as Ken … need to study your numbers…
Should let Sarah take over this VART… Itchy did a crappy job…
12:35. Soursops, not durian.
Spent some time recently in Kep and met some environmentalists there who explained that there are clear problems with overfishing. They just laughed in digust when I told them the tiny size of crab I was served……perhaps you shouldn’t be promoting this area without doing at least a bit of research…..
Cambodia does have some problems and issues we should tackle. Which countries do not have issues? We are not perfect, but pretty unique and authentic. If you need to go somewhere high-end or perfect, maybe you can go to Dubai, Monaco, Singapore or Switzerland. Why could they not promote anything they want? It is their youtube channel.

I appreciate your perspective and understand that every place has its unique qualities. My point was not to dismiss Kep or Cambodia but to highlight an important issue that affects both the environment and the local community. Promoting tourism is great, but it's also vital to do so responsibly. Raising awareness about overfishing can help ensure that the natural beauty and resources of places like Kep are preserved for future generations. It's all about finding a balance between celebrating a place and protecting it
I found those ocean restaurants to be average food , and over priced
great place bur a bit pricy for me
The Staff at Sabay Kep said they haven't any Canadians staying there... Sat 17th May.
Never?
@@itchyfeetonthecheap : They meant, as I did, that there were no Canuks living there on that day.
Cambodians needs to be educated on polluting.
That’ll never happen!
They know how to pollute
I wanna go to there
