I never cared for beef liver growing up. One night, I was going to dinner with a friend and she asked me to keep an eye on a pan of chicken livers that she was cooking - for her dog. Well, I must have been hungry for dinner because I tried a piece of one and loved it. I make them with onions and green peppers, butter, salt, pepper and poultry seasoning. Yum!

I worked at a place one time that had a cafeteria that served hot meals. The best chicken livers I've ever eaten was cooked there. The cook told me that he puts them in a deep fryer around 350 to 375 degrees for ONLY 7 minutes. They cook just right, they're completely done, not too hard from cooking too long and not undercooked because of a real short cooking time. They are awesome.

The flavor and texture of beef liver is considerably stronger and more dense and I think more rich. I prefer chicken over beef but eat both. As kids, I remember it was just that we were served way too much (in our home for sure). Sara, thanks for your video. I bet it was delicious 😋

It's usually hit or miss with the stores I go to. I always used to see them at Walmart but most of time now just at Safeway in the frozen meat section and it depends on the day of the week I go.

Bacon grease and salted butter. Fry onions and peppers until softened, pour the livers over them and cook until the liver is nearly done. Finish by drizzling bbq sauce over the dish and cook till the liver is done. This one is a keeper!
