This clip just isn't the same without Steve Cram's commentary, but the BBC would have had to pay a fortune to keep broadcasting it in perpetuity.

What I love about Karsten is that he uses his "celebrety" status to voice enverionmental issues and healthy eating..... So many famous people make perfume commercial etc., but that is not in Karstens nature. I am norwegian, and I have seen many interviews of his. He is so humble outside of the court. In the winter olympics Norway was the number one country in terms of medals, but I some of those winners make their own clothing lines, skincare+++ and I must admit I have an issue with that. I get they have to do what the sponsors make them do, but still... I am so proud of Karsyens way of thinking, acting, and the empathy he shows....

At least in this race, everyone who broke the pre-race world record got a medal. In the 2008 Olympics 4x400 men's freestyle relay, FIVE teams in the final broke the world record (which had just been set in the prelims). I can't imagine what it must feel like to compete in an Olympic final, break the world record, but not do well enough to medal.

The first 200m that he ran was absolutely blistering fast and that was not his full speed at all, imagine what his speed like in full sprint at 200m.
