Brings a tear to my eye. I remember that day like it was yesterday. I will have to show my Grandson. I was a bugler. Proud part of my life, it was on TV and my mother was watching.
no one can play the silver bugles like the light division , not even the gurkhas could ever reach these tones......the unique sound is lost ,maybe forever, with only the band and bugles of the Rifles to try and carry the tradition....i was 14 years old when i saw the light division sound retreat on the horse guards in 1974...with the legendary Colin Green at the front......marty
June 2015 the old buglers placed all side the rifles band and bugles as ex 2 and battalion the light infantry it great to march again at 140 paces again and I am 61 years old
Was a great parade and a sad day for the Light division.. i was proud to be Light Infantry Bugler on this Parade.. And still proud to this day !!! once a bugler always a bugler !
Yes 'march to the scaffold' was not on the official play list, this was a dig at the hierarchy for the cut-backs - Aucto Splendore Resurgo - Swift and Bold.

I'm ex para but my grandfather was RIFLE BRIGADE. Great music, great band and great regiment
The commentary is very apt, especially around the playing of Berlioz. Haunting almost.
The ultimate Light Division video. Don't think anything will beat this - thanks
Yes I was a member of 7LI
Now all gone I miss my time with them and look back in pride at my days with the Light Infantry
Thank You

I gave you the 7th thumbs up , what's driving me nuts is at the end, he says one final thought and they cut it before he said it.
I saw that one in 1974 brilliant, again in 1987 the band slowly shrinking with defence cuts that one is half the size of 87...
Excellent video presentation. The purity and skill of those buglers is unreal, absolutely brilliant.
its so sad we can never see the likes of this again CUT BACKS
