Cold , Wet and kack conditions, You made the effort and caught on the bank Shaun , well done fella and fishing fix complete. Good angling and well deserved . Steve M
Thanks mate 👊🏼👍 If lure fishing then I think bright conditions are good, but I’ve found overcast days to be better when dead baiting. I think the water temperature has the biggest impact, if there’s a sudden drop then I think the fish switch off. If it’s constantly cold and stable then even if it’s sub zero I think the fishing is more consistent.
Well done Shaun 👏 all the vids you do are brill mate, standard or short fill in ones 👍 All about being out there and enjoying it mate. Keep up the great work buddy 👍
To me, thats good piking weather... I love to get the baits out , get in under the brolly and just chill out... having the proper clothing (& insulated boots) is essential though... 😎👍☘️🍻
It’s the amount of rain and snow that was the crap part! Love a frosty day after a croc, but loads of rain dropping the water temperature has always been a negative in my experience.
@@TheFishingBloggers Most of the waters I fish over here are big deep lakes which are more stable over time....a sudden temp change and/or rainwater influx has less effect on the fishing... (My nearest lake is Lough Gara with 12.5 square kilometres surface area) 😎👍☘️🍻
Good video, although I have only carp fished for 44 years I enjoy watching all species content you and Hugh put out. Wouldn't worry about the rough edit I'm sure most of us aren't expecting a Hollywood block buster! Any a a pony day like today when I can't get out watching fishing is the next best thing 👍
@ no I’m nearly 63 and have fished since I was 8/9. Fishing Hampstead ponds, grand union canal and the river Lea. Have focused on the Hampstead ponds for tench, bream, roach perch and pike and the Lea for chub and dace . Strangely enough all my predator PB’s (pike 23, catfish 31 & perch 3.6) have all come to boilies 🤷♂️. Not to say I will not go back to ‘normal’ fishing (I’ve never caught a barbel) when age/health catches up with me but at the moment I’m focused on a couple of Colne Valley waters that have big enough fish to smash my current PB keep up the vlogs 🎣🐳👍🏻
It might have only been a tiddler but at least you caught something....better than staying at home and going stir crazy !!! Where, who, what is that kettle ??? I've never seen one like it,it's a good space saving idea 👍👍👍 How does it perform compared to a metal type camping kettle ???
The kettles from Sea To Summit, it’s a lightweight kettle for mountaineering. It performs really well, might take a little longer to boil as it’s only got the base as a conductor. The kettle, mug and stove all pack down together, minimal space used. I then take a 100g gas canister for short sessions.

Don't do pike fishing but really liked the sentiment of "just getting out"!
Most of my fishing is ‘just getting out’, it’s so much more than just trying to catch fish.
I’ve never been out for pike before, maybe one day I will try it.
Looks fun
When it’s Baltic, it’s time better spent than chasing carp!
Blank Saver..I like you guys relaxed attitude.
We don’t take it too seriously, there’s enough of that in day to day life! It’s all about enjoying being outdoors and now and then catching a fish 😉

Did you go straight into carp fishing?

@@colnevalleycarping sounds like you’ve had some good fishing, good luck on smashing those PBs 👍
We went to my in-laws marina in Newbury had 7 pike , 4 perch and a lovely rainbow trout today in 5 hrs on deadbaits and live baits
Sounds like a great session, good angling. Live baits are a massive edge 👍
It’s even better when you in laws own a marina on the kennet and Avon in Newbury 👍 no one else can fish it

Fair enough 👍
Tuesdays at 1830 will remain carpy 😉
The channel name is fishing bloggers 🤔
@@colnevalleycarping we’ve got a heavy carp influence, but I’m an all rounder at heart so always intended to feature mixed species in the channel 👍
