The reason it didn't change much in sound out put is you didn't drill a hole in the baffle or remove the baffle from the muffler. The baffle is what you though might be a spark arrester. The baffle is a major blockage in the exhaust system meant to make the saw quieter; which it does. But it also restricts the exhaust quite a bit, so much so I don't really know how effective a bark box, dual port, or your Egan straight shot really are if you don't do something to the baffle.
@@ChainsawFarmer1 Well the baffle is welded into the muffler. If your good with a dremel you can cut it out but I find it much easier to drill a big hole in the front baffle.
@@jonathonchristensen3279 I used a cut off wheel on a die grinder and cut the top of the baffle off then retuned. Sounds great now and more aggressive throttle response!
I've gone back and took a small cut off wheel and cut the top out of the baffle inside, added an enhanced air filter, and then re-tuned the saw again. After taking the baffle out the RPMs shot up by another 1000, so I dialed it back down again. NOW it sounds like my 362C does, though with a little lower pitch. I was researching it and found this same thing. I'm probably going to try to remove it completely and if I can't get it off I'll drill a hole in it.

@@ChainsawFarmer1 Cool. Can't wait to see a video with sound comparison's and maybe some cutting comparisons too.

The straight shots are great👍🏻
Your idle is too high still, I keep mine around 2700
Total junk .best way to reduce a saws torque with the joke muffler. We've. Proven they are a power Loss.
not junk
it keeps the saw cooler
