- The tension rose when the qualifiers of the first Semi-Final were announced.
The following ten countries have qualified for the Grand Final (in order of announcement):
Austria: Nobody But You by Cesár Sampson
Estonia: La Forza by Elina Nechayeva
Cyprus: Fuego by Eleni Foureira
Lithuania: When We’re Old by Ieva Zasimauskaitė
Israel: TOY by Netta
Czech Republic: Lie To Me by Mikolas Josef
Bulgaria: Bones by EQUINOX
Albania: Mall by Eugent Bushpepa
Finland: Monsters by Saara Aalto

Guys, don't be mad about a country not getting to the final. This semi final was in my opinion the biggest bloodbath in all history and it was sure before the show that some rly good songs not gonna make it to the final. All countries in this semifinal should be happy and proud.
but some bad songs got to the final lmao. Austria was plain horrible, Albania also doesn't have anything special except his vocals, and Ireland wasn't that special either, apart from the gay couple dancing lol. Greece and Belgium had something different and interesting to offer.
carvlos Yeah I agree, some people have a diffirent music taste and that's it. Also belgium's live was bad compared to studio version. Talking about Greece... idk... I'm still shocked that she had not made it. And I agree on Austria, I hoped they won't qualify cause perfomance was bad. That's Eurovision, you never know what's going to happen
well you should know what would happen bc most people here are shocked that Greece and Belgium didn't make it. most people were expecting them on the finals which means that many of them would vote for them. I don't see that much support towards Ireland and Austria. juries aren't relevant anymore, the contest is rigged asf.
I liked all songs except Lithuania which is my least favourite song of the year, but oh well, at least Albania made it, sweet surprise

Greece's loss is Cyprus' gain. The Greek delegation should have sent Eleni when they had the chance.

Am I the only one feeling alright with this result? Sure my favourite, Switzerland didn't get through but I recognize that people have different musical tastes and that's something to be encouraged. Unlike what seems to be the majority of the comment section I will happily proclaim that I voted for Ireland and Albania. Good luck to all! It was a semi full of surprises which I like.
I'm also feeling fine with it, yes it is sad that some songs didn't go true even tho they where very good but these 10 in my opinion where also very good and deserved!

Yeah I’m okay with it, looking back at the recap I think the 10 were deserved! It was tough semi so good songs were gonna go either way! But I think a lot of songs just weren’t memorable enough, namely Azerbaijan, Armenia, Greece, Belgium and Croatia. They were 50/50 but after the recap I completely get why they didn’t qualify. I’m so glad that people are voting for the song and not the country like they should! When Ireland and Czechia can qualify and Azerbaijan, Armenia and Greece can’t it really restores your faith in people

Belgium was not that good live and Greece just wasn't that great, but it was good, I am really surprised it didn't qualified. Ireland and Albania were awesome live and both of them totally deserve to be in the final.

Belgium, Croatia, Switzerland and Macedonia were amazing ; Belarus, Greece, Armenia, Azerbaijan and even Iceland were better than some of the qualifiers and would have had great chances to qualify in semi 2
As predicted this semi was a bloodbath
I was voting for 7 songs: Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Armenia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland. 5 of these countries are in the final and I am happy. But Greece and Armenia :( Also Ireland is a surprise but that performance was magical. Also I am very happy for Albania and Lithuania, because I wasn't sure that they will go to the final. Also I guessed 8 countries out of 10 which is not so bad. Wasn't sure about Ireland and Austria and I thought that Azerbaijan and Croatia will be in the final instead.

I’ve been following Eurovision since 2009 and I reckon this was the best semifinal ever in terms of quality of the songs. All 19 songs were deserved to go to the final so I’m happy :)
One year passed and I still remember my reaction when they said Ireland! I was so nervous I thought it wouldn't qualify and I prayed from the first time I heard the song I prayed to qualify and when I heard Ireland I was screaming, I cried because I was so happy. It was my favorite out of all, my friends were making fun of me why I was so obsessed with this song but I guess they couldn't understand the amazing meaning of this beautiful song. As I said one year passed already and my love for this song is growing bigger every time!! For me he is the real winner!!

Why is everyone complaining? Yes, not all our favourites qualified (Greece, Belgium, Belarus etc). But just deal with it! Listen to the song again if you really like it and follow the artist and see what they do next! Comments like 'I'm not watching again' or 'Rigged!' are silly. It was a very competitive semi final and not all countries can get through...

That was such an amazing moment. I was in the arena that night and after I heard Lithuania, Albania and Finland went through, I was sure that Ireland wouldn't qualify. Then, they announced Ireland as the final qualifier and I couldn't believe it. I was hugging all the people around me, we were waving our flags and lots of pictures were being taken with people from countries all over Europe. It was incredible and I'll never forget it.

I love all the songs of first semi final (except Iceland even though he has an amazing voice) but for me a song like stones from Switzerland was one of the best and I'm so sad it didn't qualify. I would have prefer Greece or Switzerland qualify instead of Ireland for exemple but that doesn't mean that I don't like Ireland's song
