  • I’ve always wondered how these two would compare side by side! After a long time thinking about upgrading my THR10II, I finally got my hands on the THR30II, but only for about one hour.
Everything was in mid range, no EQ, no FX. Every amp model used (clean, crunch, lead, hi gain and special). No cabinets variation, although this is one of the greatest differences between these two (being able to choose cabinet directly from the THR30II, instead of using the THR app).
    Equipment:
    Gibson SG Standard 2005
    Looper: Line 6 HX Stomp
    Transmitter: Joyo JW-03
I hope it helps people decide which one to buy or if the upgrade is worth it!
Leave your thoughts and thanks for watching!

I'm on the fence between the two! You mentioned in your comment replies that you found the 10 sounded better, but you still kept the 30? Could you elaborate some more? Great video comparison though, thanks!

I got the 30 because of the extra power and the cabinet selection control!
I like trebly sounds better, so that’s why I think the 10 sounds better, especially on cleans and crunches! But try watching this with a good headphone and you’ll probably notice that the 30 is more balanced, with more headroom!
I wish I had more time to put these two side by side again!
      Thanks for watching!

😂😂😂 maybe the poor recording, ambiance? I don’t know! The 30 sounds more balanced to me, but the 10 sounds better to my ears as well! 🤷‍♂️

someone edit via PC the settings on THR30(compressor,Cab simulator etc etc)....sounds different cause of that

Actually, there’s no editing whatsoever! Factory settings, knobs at same position. Although I do believe that because of the different speakers sizes, you’d have to tweak each to your ears…

@@FHollister i mean deep editing from THR EDITOR software via pc my friend not from knobs....something is deactivated in thr30 for sure

    • @FHollister
      @FHollister  2 місяці тому +1

@@69spiros it’s not edited. Both are straight out of the box, never even plugged a USB cable… and not edited on Bluetooth as well

Why THR10II sound better than THR30II lol

🤷‍♂️ I’ve asked my self the same question, but although they’re adjusted exactly the same, maybe a better recording and some adjustments would make the 30 shine! This was just a “out of the box” comparison!

😂why the 10II sound much fuller to my ears

Smaller speakers are usually more harsh, right?! Maybe I should have turned the 30 up a little, to pull some bright… I don’t know!

@@FHollister I think for a fair-fair comparison. You need to set every knob the same except for the output volume where you need to balance for every sound. Then try to place it in the same place so that it doesn't pan differently. Maybe recording in mono will help as well.

@@ChinZu That’s a good idea, but I’ve sold the THR10II. Maybe if I got a hand on another one sometime… thanks!

@@FHollister Oh, I have found that the THR 30II sounds very different across amp models. (but for the THR10II it can only be adjusted in the app) This may be the cause, so next time make sure it's the same model of amp to compare with. ua-cam.com/video/_8rkV4tdfu8/v-deo.html
