Sorry about the audio on this one guys, have a new microphone that had some gain configuration issues but I thought the repair info was still worth sharing regardless.
Thank you so much for including the size of the caliper bolts and the torx bit in the hub itself, I wasn't able to find this info anywhere else. For those wondering: the lugnuts are 19mm, the caliper is a 3/8" allen socket, the axle nut is 30mm; and the torx securing the hub to the knuckle are T55s.
Just did the wheel bearings on the 00 cavalier. I purchased an induction heater to deal with the torx bolts. Roughly 20 seconds of heating and the bolts broke free with minimal effort, zero stripped heads. Just rewatched for the torque specs. Thanks again. Cheers!
Thank you for posting such a thorough video explaining how to do this. I have a 2001 Sunfire with 204,000 miles and it's still kicking. The last time I took it in for a tire rotation, the tech said the RF bearing needs replacement. I checked it myself and everything seems fine. However if it is going out, now at least I know how to repair it when the time comes. Also, excellent tip about the small pipe wrench for removing stripped 55 torx!
Pretty fantastic job sorting it out, i'm in the process of figuring this out currently. After the brake job on the front car still makes a pulsing grinding sound that changes under cornering. I"m going to jack it back up and hose things down with PB. Thank you for your diagnostics. Cheers!
Awesome video. My 2000 Sunfire s e four door is still kicking with 90k. Very helpful tips and info. The rear is a bear. Brake cylinder has to come off to replace hub. Appreciate your time and knowledge. Thx 😊✌️🇺🇸
Thank you for the infoe on the rubber O ring and the seal. I have a 99, now I know, I do not need to put on. When I took it apart, one had a seal and the other did not... Thank s again.
29 mm axle nut I’m confused cause all over the web I see 28mm 30mm and 32 mm which is it cause I heard that the sport model has 28 mm and the rest have 30 or 32
Aftermarket parts mostly, they used different size nuts than GM used on the assembly line (this one I show working on in this video is a pristine one owner J-car owned by the individual (not me) who ordered it from the Chevrolet dealer in 2004 so it's the _correct_ nut size for that year and option package). If the axle shaft was ever replaced, it got the different sized nut. Also variation across model years, option packages, or suppliers occurred even on the assembly line.
No hay empaque de grasa para los rodamientos de las ruedas con la maza de este modelo del año. Y tampoco hay un sello de goma para instalar. Es una unidad de una sola pieza como se muestra.

Wow that’s crazy I love sunfire. I’m from Brampton
thanks Brothert!
I use the mounting bolts as jacking bolts at the back of the flange with a washer walks it right out.
