- Only yesterday Conservative MPs put James Cleverly in first place in the third round of the Tory leadership contest, but today they knocked him out of the race. (Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News...)
His shock exit means party members must choose between Kemi Badenoch and Robert Jenrick, both candidates from the right wing of the party.
But the outcome of the ballot won't be known until November 2nd.

As a non-Tory, In the last leadership contest I liked Tugendhat, though now he's gone way too far too the right for me. The rest of them are absolute ghouls. Cleverly seems like a leader, but again, ghoul.
Kemi (a ghoul) seems competent and ruthless, but ultimately I think the racism of the Tory party will force it to elect Jenrick (a ghoul, and a fool).
Jenrick is maybe the worst of the four, and he'll probably win, enjoy opposition.

Well said. I’ve been saying from day one it would come down to Jenrick and Badenoch, and Jenrick will win. Anyone with an ounce of political knowledge could have worked out the order the candidates would be knocked out based on meeting the ‘criteria’ important to the members. The entire ‘contest’ has just been a facade, it’s all been meticulously planned, the ‘accidental lending of too many Cleverly votes’ is not an accident 😂
To see seasoned ‘political experts’ and newsreaders like Sophie and Beth Rigby on Sky News being genuinely utterly baffled by this is incredible and an inditement as to the poor quality of journalists we have in the UK Media.

@@Calvin23Well,under the last Tory rule, they had increased our national debt massively with complete fiscal irresponsibility, taxes went up, regulation increased and the state became more prevalent in our lives. Not to the Tory I remember under Thatcher growing up.

@@tomcoburn5258 the majority of people in this country want immigration drastically reduced. I think the median voter is a good measure of where the middle is. Right of centre would be zero net migration. Further to the right would be negative net migration. This is the party that accelerated new Labour’s already high immigration numbers to record levels. That is not to the right of centre.
