Can we just appreciate the supreme nonchalance of the guy handling deadly snakes and bugs with venom-filled fangs or stingers with zero fucks given?
He did mention that the anti-venoms are practically on hand. He also has a ton of experience at this point.

To be honest he was more likely of dying of a heart attack than a snake bite
@@isaacgraff8288 Well, I mean, I too have med kits where I work, but that doesn't mean I ain't afraid of chopping my hand or burning myself (cooking for hotel)
When you work with dangerous animals you can't be afraid of them, animals can sense fear and it makes predators more aggressive.

Not going to lie, I’m actually really excited to see how you rebuild everything. This is literally the essence of your channel! Excluding the 21st century tech that burned up….. You got this!!!!
I think he has the opportunity to build back.... better? He has more experience now. His new builds should give him improved, or at least less ugly, tools. Plus, set-backs need to be part of the process. And not the temporary ones he usually encounters, but the devastating ones our ancestors without doubt had to endure. Now he has his "dark age" or "plague" or civilization crushing event to build back from.

It can't eat you. That venom shit is expensive. It's basically like having five bullets and needing to eat at least 3... Deer I guess are a good example animal. Even if you hit the deer it could get away. You are going to be hesitant to use those bullets on a threat if you think you might be able to avoid it.
The way you ask him a question and then let him talk for a couple of minutes is nice to watch because he oviously has a lot to tell and you letting him talk lets him open up more and you can sence that in the video. Top content man!
That guy should have a UA-cam. He seem very knowledgeable and what he does is interesting.

fun fact: in german the meaning of both poison and venom is "Gift".

Yes. In the past there were many facilities who would inject a hogher dose to sheep, and horses. The pain will be excruciating and some die. That is what he was referring to when he said bad antivenom is not a good product. I really respect him for thinking from the animals POV instead of pure profit. Alao probably the higher amount of regulation is good

I watched the snake discovery video of this place and I will never stop being fascinated by this place. The way they handle the snakes is amazing, I would never handle a hot snake like this! I'm way too spooked

Andy (and crew).. yeah, there might be some negative stuff, but your content, along with very few out of the tens of channels i'm subscribed to, is some of the ONLY few that I stop everything to watch immediately.
what you do is super cool, and the place you do it from, just being a regular joe, makes it so much more relevant to most of us.

I am so glad that you've mentioned the works from Vital Brazil, one of the most important scientist we've have here in the country and in the world, sadly few people know his legacy. But gladly his legacy still lives on, on his institute Butantã!
It’s incredible how fast you have bounced back from such an awful event. This was such an interesting and educational video. It really shows you have a talent for video production and this fire won’t stop you from putting out amazing content.

The video was likely filmed well before the fire. He's lucky his servers weren't on site.
It’s not that he’s bounced back. Far from it, this interview looks like it happened while ago. Even if his computer was in that area that burned I would hope he’d have a back up. I’m glad he was able to out up something even if it’s not how he wanted the video to go.

That was so cool! It's incredible to see the background of how antivenin is made in an actual venom facility. I am studying manufacturing engineering, so seeing the background on this and other things you've done videos on really inspired me and helps me stay passionate about my career. I can't afford to donate monetarily, but I like to put your videos on a playlist and watch all the ads to help out in the way I can!
I love how this guy just shuts down the poison vs venom thing. He's so right about other languages too.
I worked with a guy once who I think owned snakes and he pulled that out once, "Technically it's venom and not poison," and if that wasn't a phone conference I would have said something like "STFU dude" for that kind of 'know-it-all' comment. But it was a work meeting over the phone.... so no, that didn't happen.

This was informative. I think I looked up how anti-venom was made once, a long time ago, and didn't understand. It took me hearing this man explain the process for me to understand it. Super cool, and I'm grateful that you helped me expand my knowledge today.
A lot has been lost in the fire, but you have learned so much. And building up from scratch is what this channel is about.

However, despite an almost complete loss of everything you had to show for the channel, you still turn around and put out some of the best small-time content on the platform, even rivaling channels with ten times the team size, and twenty times the budget.

I know it's his job, and he knows that there is minimal risk, but he's so freaking placid while handling venomous & potentially deadly snakes; I find it reassuring & calming to see a professional at work. Related: I was startled by a common garter snake in my yard the other day; I jumped, and yelped in a pitch I haven't been able to reach since before puberty. Oh I just saw his left forearm tattoo... dude really loves his job.

Really enjoyed this video you can clearly tell the snake handler had nothing but love and respect for these animals you could say he's showing up for the cameras but he even has a memorial tattoo of a snake on his hand

Venomous -> It bites you, you die. Poisonous -> You bite it, you die.
Correlation not causation: you bite someone and someone else dies. Voodoo: you let someone else bite something or someone and the target dies. And if you bite each other and no one dies, that's kinky :)

And both poisons and venoms = Toxins. Toxins are just biologically produced poison :)
Glad to see such a wonderful community response in such a short time. Hope to see you guys bounce back. If you can make a molten obsidian sword from near scratch I imagine you can handle rebuilding a workshop/studio with modern resources ;) Unless... perhaps it's time to build a WWII style bunker with materials and building methods of that time. 8 foot thick concrete walls with steel reinforcement. Sump pumps, and adequate enough ventilation. I'd like to see that thing try to catch fire ;)

the fact that these noodles are out saving lives and no one really gives credit to the snakes for being able to be both dangerous and helpfull. its also amazing how patient these snakes have become, its just routine and they dont like it but still wont fight as much as a wild one says a lot, i find them so cute

u should rebuild your workplace but from scratch find a place cut the tress and work the land that would be awesome and inspiring maybe colab with townsends

I love this channel because it’s good brain fuel for worldbuilding. I just watched the tattoo episode and had the idea of combining the ink with toxins for poisonous tattoos that inoculate people against the poisonous animals in religious ceremonies.
I did not expect to see ARS caging in this! My Uncle owns that business and its suppressing to see his snake caging arounds the world!

A fun idea for the rebuild (as in the rebuilding of tools and such that have been lost in the fire) you could create a list of things that need to be remade and challenge other youtubers to make them with a set of primitive restrictions. because im sure theres plenty of channels like bow maker, smithing, woodworking channels that'd love to give primitive techniques a try.
