Was up there yesterday. Across from Echo they have started filling and leveling the area for a Walmart or something. Found some specimens. How far are you guys off the road here??
Hi @digdigdig Thanks for your amazing videos! I’ve prospected mainly in the NE USA, but I am new to PA (Mt Pocono area). Respectfully, would you mind sharing the county or (if you kindly feel so inclined) the locality of this site, & if it is private or not? No pressure- it’s like asking for the local fishing hole :D Alternatively, do you have any suggestions for pay to dig mines (not pay per bag...)? The last thing I want to do is mistakenly usurp claims or ‘claims’ :Rock hound respect. Thanks for your time! (PS I do this for passion, not profit, but open to turning profit esp with a team. I’d be honored to dig with you, happy to send resume to show my work ethic, would love to discuss my gemology knowledge and love learning) Really nice DT quartz, triples+ & points. Peacock coal was neat too- love seeing that color that isn’t quartz etc treated w titanium I hope to chat about PA locations if/when you have time (guessing York or Lancaster County?) Thanks again! Be safe
Not for crystals, I think Meckley's Quarry stopped their public celestite digs awhile back. Closest place I poke around for minerals is Cornwall PA(Big Hill) and the immediate surrounding area.
May we get a town/area/local where this area is? With all that iron staining and all, has anyone checked nearby streams for flake/flour yellow shiny bits? tnx
I'm from butler pa, about an hour North of pittsburgh. Is there anything interesting in my area? We have been to Herkimer a few times, it's a long drive though.
@@TheBigMclargehuge tresckow...bout a half hour south of you just south of hazleton....though I'd bet you can find Crystals in any old strip mine near you. Unrelated tidbit: I was just at Wyoming Valley Mall yesterday.
Private operating coal mine...I know a miner there and had special permission....there's an abandoned coal pit down just the road where collecting is more tolerated that quite a few dig at....they'd still charge you with trespassing if you got hurt. They're all somewhat dangerous with moderate climbing involved.
This isn't even the spot where most people dig....the guy with the prybar killed it...he filled his backpack...but where he was digging had no escape options if something happened, so I opted not to climb up with him lol
@@DigDigDigDigDigDig probably a smart thing. I'm waiting to see what the weather is going to be like this weekend. I might take a run down. Can you safely dig without a tie-off rope?
This one is private, I had permission, and don't point people to this one to prevent the mine with getting swamped with requests and ruining it for the few who dig there.... but there is a popular dig right down the road where collecting has been tolerated...."The Echo", right at the border of McAdoo, PA and Tresckow, PA.
I thriw the bigger broken bits in the tumbler. They make cool cane or walking stick toppers.
Awesome video 😊
I really wanna do this but i dont know anywhere near harrisburg any suggestions?...subbed btw
You guys should investigate that yellow dirt. Might be more valuable than you think ;)
Good clear quartz crystals man.
I live in Allegheny county PA any good spots close to that?

Do you know of any good areas in Lancaster county?
Not for crystals, I think Meckley's Quarry stopped their public celestite digs awhile back. Closest place I poke around for minerals is Cornwall PA(Big Hill) and the immediate surrounding area.
Thank you for replying but it seems I won’t be in the county for much longer anyways

I know Erie/Buffalo area has some nice trilobite localities if you're into fossils...I'm unaware of any crystal spots in NWPA....try mindat.org
@@DigDigDig Where are the spots in northeastern PA? I'm up near Wilkes-Barre.

@@DigDigDig thank you!!
digging for xls with a crowbar......real smart.....
Why don't you wash the stones off so we can appreciate them?
I did at the very end...
@@DigDigDig I didn't wait long enough to answer my own question. Pretty cool crystals.

There's a rope there already tied to a tree, ya need it to get down to the digs, but USUALLY don't need a rope to dig.
Hi. Is this a public pay-to-play place? If so, would you mind telking us the name of it?
