No, it was filmed in May, which is the rainy season in Africa, so it would be cooler and less oppressively hot. All 3 of them said it was a very nice and fun holiday - it wasn't work for them at all.
@@brownbear4168 you do realize the producers jumped Jeremy’s bmw right after this.... I get it, American top gear is god awful. But that’s a sad attempt to trash talk. Wouldn’t be much of a show if they weren’t prepared for things to go wrong.
These modifications blew my mind when I watched this episode and they still blow my mind now. These guys' craftiness (if it was really them) is incredible.
Funny, Hammonds car would the most practical in a real word scenario, it even has running water. May's car would be the most interesting to relax and kill time, while Jeremy's car would give you the best nights and comfiest sleep... But if I had to choose 1 car for an African safari adventure, I'd probably take Hammonds Scooby.
I'd have gotten an Outback rather than the Impreza. More room, but then again, I'm not a hamster. EDIT: I should point out that I actually already had/have Hammond's car. Only difference being mine is white.
Just make sure that you have all your utensils kept in a closed shelf after use or they'll come bouncing off from the bumpy road like what happened to Hammond in the later parts.
Hammond, who can't cook, converts his car into a kitchen... Makes sense. At least Clarkson's made sense from a selfish point of view (he likes comfort) and May's made perfect sense from a practical point of view. He's good with tools and mending things will be critical along the trip. All Hammond ever used his kitchen for was heating cans of baked beans, something they could've done over an open fire.
The grand tour is good but it will never ever match how good these 3 were on top gear... this special, Vietnam special, Bolivia special, some of the best TV I have ever watched... I miss the old top gear
Personally, for me, Hammond's car mods are the best and most practical. A full kitchen with a bed is perfect. May's modifications are a close second with the full workshop, but points off for the itchy blanket. Clarkson's is kinda impractical though for anything but storage and sleeping.
If you look carefully , some of the books are about exploring 😂😂😂😂😂😂. Top gear will never ,never , never be the same or have anywhere near as much as a third of the viewers .
