I always loved the MM series. First one I played was MM3, Isles of Terra. I thought the twist of the planet being a creation of an ancient race, along with high tech, sci fi being present towards the end of the game was awesome.
Thanks alot for uploading this. I am in the progress of playing the game at the moment, but for some reason the cutscenes do not work. There is only sound, so this helps me to fully enjoy the classical experience of these great RPGs :]
That was partly the reason I uploaded it too.. I would usually have to set up my old computer to play MM7 from its old discs, as the GOG version for me does not play the cutscenes. I ended up extracting them and putting them here instead, just seemed easier. :p
That might be the monument to her father who used to be Lich King Gryphonheart before the Restoration War was over (which is in MM7´s setting), but just my personal opinion here.
The Dark ending would have led into Armageddon's Blade, but NWC scrapped the Forge town because a vocal minority who had played only Heroes, didn't realize Might & Magic has always been scifi-fantasy and didn't want a high-tech town in Heroes complained about it. It was replaced by the Conflux, which was meant for the second expansion.
***** This is actually interesting because according to one interview with JVC I had seen, sci-fi was implemented in M&M 6-8 as the reference to all previous M&Ms (1-5) in order for older players to smile at the nostalgia, since M&M 6-8 was a spin-off series of HoMM series, made in order to fill the holes that were left after playing HoMM and its expansions in entirety (Armageddon`s Blade, I`m looking at you) only ... even though given the execution, they could definitely introduce it better if you ask me. I personally still like it tho, especially in 7 because well ... 3 words: Liches with Blasters. x3
***** I actually wonder if those inconsistencies happened because the devs didn`t wish to risk it with sci-fi being introduced in Heroes III and all, even before the entire deal with the Forge faction and all after M&M 7 was made ... even though I also wonder if the giant planet-shattering explosion that we see if we manage to win the game in M&M 6 has something to do with that as well.
I still think those dissonance between sci-fi and ancient mythology is too big and their designers have gone too far. I know some people will agro on me but I am just giving my fair impression. In real world when firing weapon appeared it completely broke the rules and there was no armor, swords, shields and bows anymore. And in phantasy world I would reasonably expect it to become useless as well. That is why I see inconsistency.
You see, that's exactly why you find blasters, spaceships etc in the last third of the game. The thing is, the world of Enroth still doesn't know about these (bc ancient tech), and only the outworlders (e.g. Kastore, Ressurrectra, Tolberti etc) can use these (even the Harmondale Lords can't use it at first: if they find a blaster before killing Tolberti\Robert (in Eofol) they won't know how to use it). You just misunderstand this setting a bit. Even the Forge town would be the most expensive (with the strongest units though). Ancient tech (i.e. futuristic technology) is not commonly used in Enroth. Most of this world is still medieval, even the Lords of Harmondale and Magnus\whatever is the name of the guy Kastore kills discover it only near the final quest. Kreegans are an exception: they are demon-looking aliens with their own tech or something, and they're not even from Enroth.
@@isheriel7800 Understand your point. And I see you are real fan) that's good) That is a holywar topic for sure) I would say I appreciate your explanation, thx! Just mixing of hitech vs phantasy is not for my subjective taste, the only problem. Of cource I respect the ideas of designers about other more developed worlds that could contact with Enroth, I just don't see harmony in this
World of Enroth like many others was cut from Ancient web network, beginning the Silence. Essentially any technology went offline and knowledge about it and how to use stuff like that wa forgotten. World looks like medieval fantasy because it devolved to that state. :P Kreegans are aliens who look like demons from mythology and religion practiced by Enroth's locals (I suspect a bit of Ancient knowledge managed to survive, but details were forgotten and turned into legend, so Kreegans became demons who punished bad people in hell). These sci-fi elements are similar to tinfoil theories like aliens helping to build Pyramids or actively tinkering with human development, except they are true in MM games. :P

The intro is really well done, a mix of dark comedy, weird sci-fi mystery, and expertly flipping between light and dark perspectives !

You are probably going to get alot of traffic from people getting this game on GOG, since the graphics cards conflict with cut-scenes.

Virgin Isabel Greyhound and Chadtherine Gryphonheart.
Fairly certain Resurrectra's meant to be a Gnome. Are M&M Gnomes normally built like tall elves?
I think you're right, and I think Gnomes in M&M are typically short, not sure why she's tall.
I always wondered why Archibald looks so different between intro and his exile scene? Was that not supposed to be him in the intro originally?
Does anyone know what the significance of the monument/statue is at the end of the good side cut scene, when the Queen looks over at it?
That might be the monument to her father who used to be Lich King Gryphonheart before the Restoration War was over (which is in MM7´s setting), but just my personal opinion here.
I think it's just meant to be a gravestone - as a metaphor for Deyja and the Necropolis.
It's her father's grave. He was killed by the Necromancers.
Both Ressurectra and Catherine have wonderful racks. Their funbags inspired a different fantasy thread in teenage me's mind over 20 years ago.
Simply looking at the scope of the Good Final versus Evil one makes you wonder why you should bother with the latter at all :(
Shrapmetal is so strong tho. Melt the megadragon.
Bad guys in that game were so petty even Archibald was totally disgusted with them.
Scope? NWC made the light ending canon, but it was of absolutely zero consequence to the plot of subsequent Heroes stories :/
The Dark ending would have led into Armageddon's Blade, but NWC scrapped the Forge town because a vocal minority who had played only Heroes, didn't realize Might & Magic has always been scifi-fantasy and didn't want a high-tech town in Heroes complained about it. 10:33 Thanos and
THE GEM OF INFINITY :V
Bro that voice acting change lol
I totally don't remember this being a sci-fi.
Maybe because it enters at the endgame.

+MallarRallam That's why HoMM 3 will never be as good as MM 6-8, it was barely consistent with the lore.
Shame about Gavin Magnus and how he ends up in HOMAM4.
It's also a shame that your earlier MAM party splits up over ideological issues.
dark path should've been canical

Really? Old games not having RTX - level graphics? Who would've thought? How shocking!
