Snare rattle makes it goal accomplished imo. As per Bob Rock in the SKOM film, "The goal is to make the album sound like a band getting together for the 1st time in garage and playing. Only the band is Metallica."

Anger album is not about technique, solos or things like that. Anger album is about the rage, the anger, the fury, the fear, the sorrow, the pain that can destroy a person´s life really fast. It´s a raw album, really crude, and you must have a dark and twisted part inside you if you want to understand the Saint Anger. Not everyone catch the Anger album real message, but i do, because i love ´tallica and i know what they been through. And SKOM is the best example of that.

i really did discovered metallica by the album St Anger, and to telling the truth for me this is one of the best they ever made, its really strong, heavy, there is a soul in this album , it s not about playing hard and loud getting drunks of stuff like that, this is some Heavy great mature metal and i F@^ing Love it
