Watched the vid. I'm guessing the skit thing is kinda your way to pad out the review with humor, but it goes on for way too long.
Nijigasaki was originally a spin-off of the main series which grew into a full-fledged group/season. I think Lantis was looking to manage multiple groups to expand the franchise, with Sunshine having to carry the series since its inception. I don't doubt the nijigasaki anime was made to assist Sifas, but there are a considerable amount of fans for the new cast to justify making the anime in the first place.
Season 1 is the introduction of the characters (reminder that there will be people who never played Sifas) and the kind of music they perform with. The overall conflict for season one is the uncertainty of the group's purpose; to work as a group for love live (ala muse or aqours) and what each idol strives for. It's fine that you didn't catch any purpose or depth with your watch and you can't expect to enjoy everything.
Season 2 expands the scope of love live beyond Japan, starting small by collabing with the surrounding idol groups to host a large idol festival. Ayumu's trip to London opens the possibility to have school idols become a worldwide phenomenon, and we're awaiting the movie trilogy to find out what's next for the series.
The series' appeal is it's characters and it would make sense if you didn't like/care about the characters then you wouldn't like the series. It's the same for me with Sunshine and my gripes with it. Overall I do agree with your sentiment that the anime plays it too safe, which may be an overcorrection from how Sifas bombarded the story with characters' inner turmoil and having a large chunk of the fanbase despise Lanzhu. I think you could've gotten more out of it if you played Sifas but I'm not going to say you're wrong for not liking nijigasaki.
Edit: If you would like, I can try and give insight on things you may have missed or felt like it was bland/fell flat; like Ai's episode focus or why some characters' drama felt shallow.

I really like how well done your video analysis are. They seem to have a lot of work and love behind.
    My personal opinion about Nijigasaki:
-I have complex feelings about this anime. I like it, but I know is a mess.
-I like the idols of the show, even I really enjoy some of them and I think they have a lot of potential. BUT im really exasperated with Yuu as main character, she´s easily one of the most flatest, boring and unnecesary characters ive ever seen in media. Is annoying how everyone in the show has to love her just because. She is like some variation of Mary Sue without any effort to give her at least a little of, not even personality, some individuality.
-I enjoy most of the episodes, but It's amazing how afraid the writers are to give to the show any real conflict.
I would love to see more of Karin, Setsuna, Ai, Kasumi, Lanzhu, Mia, Kanata and specially Rina. But the show waste or ignores so much of their backgrounds and potential.
It's like a charming, very well-made musical disaster, where characters you really like are there, but you know they're not going to do anything relevant in a story in which you feel like something great could happen but at the same time you know it won't.
It's kind of fascinating actually how a show like that exists.

46:00 the original plot is too heavy for LLers to take so this is the best they could come up with

47:13 I'm going to be honest. This is why I like the Niji anime more than the others. The others seemed to take themselves too seriously, and ended up making no sense.
Aquors' school closed because they were 2 applicants short. That doesn't make sense considering how many new applicants they were getting daily.
µ's broke up because of the 3rd years leaving, but what are the rest of them going to do now? Kotori gave up her dream of studying abroad to be an idol and now she's just going to give that up too? That makes NO sense
And Liella lost Love Live to the worst rival group that they could have thrown together. Seriously, the amount of effort they put into Sunny Passion is pathetic compared to Saint Snow. I want to know what song Sunny Passion sang to beat Starlight Prologue, because I'm still waiting for it to be released
Also 50:35 the last episode of niji to date would be the OVA "NEXT SKY"
1:04:57 also, I'll note that ProZD didn't name a single Liella girl.

Video could had been better without the pointless and cringy Matrix parody..ironic since its kinda one of the complaints you had for this show lol

I mean the whole point of the matrix stuff was that idol hell feels like a completely different world meant to comfort us from the horrors of the real world (and also because I've been wanting to parody the Matrix movies for this review since I started writing this in 2022) but yeah maybe I put too much of that here I guess.
