I always say I learned woodworking from both my dad and my grandpa: my grandpa taught me to use the tools, my dad taught me how to fix my mistakes. The desk looks amazing, design features and all! I really like the detailed build videos, with all the tips and tricks. Since I've started working and learning on my own, youtube has taught me a lot about joinery and designing a project. Thanks for being a part of that!

Beautiful desk! That tip about adding sandpaper to the offcuts to help with clamping is gold! All your design features are inspirational for a guy like me, who is way too good at adding design features to my own projects 😁
1. I like your design, really great idea. 2. Looking at the front, at the way you dealt with the edges, I got a suggestion: Considering you before assembly already know what goes where, then it would not take long for you, to cut a V-groove into the front, all the way around, then cut some strips of the plywood, where there good looking side, is the one to be turned out, at the inward is cut into an angle. This has several benefits: 1. It hides that you made it in plywood; 2: Creating these cuts, will make the front look like the rest of your creation; 3: The front will because of the angle and groove center itself. Beyond that... nice show of machines. ;)
Extremely cool Brad! But what's even cooler is that I use referential measurements myself which normally turn into design features. Wow huh? Great design and build. Thanks for posting.
If your having trouble with nail blowouts try turning your gun 90 degrees to be in line with the wood. Brad nails are shaped flat like a 2x4 and bend the same way, they flex in their thinner direction. If you have the flex direction where the nail can follow the wood grain out toward the side of the board, Murphy’s law says they will. If you turn the gun to be parallel with the length of the board your shooting into, the brad can on flex along the length and will still be in the board. Great vid!
Awesome. I have been wanting to make a walnut desk. Wish I had that CNC...maybe I’ll try a drawer front design w my router. Your videos are so well edited and the pace is good.
Wow, another awesome project and beautiful finished product. I learned so many useful techniques from that one video (and so many tools I now want). I really appreciate that you show how you 'fix' self imposed problems and how you would improve it to make a design better. And I have to say that the banding and splined bevels you used to just make it cleaner and prettier are something i'll be incorporating from now on. The effort is way worth it. Keep up the great work!
Looks great! Nicely done. Noticed the two week turnaround from film to post. People seem to forget that it takes time to edit and find those snippets..h a ha ha..good one!
just discovered your channel and i'm loving it. as a carpenter myself ive learned a lot so far from just 2 of your vids. also i like how there's no cheesy annoying stock music in the background and your product placement is more than bareable lol. you get paid and we dont have to sit through 2 minutes of product plugging/ short and sweet. have a sub. cheers mate
Lol, love the comment about Magic Marker! Been there, done that with a freshly painted bedroom. Great looking desk, I really like the cable management.
That desk looks amazing, would love to build one similar. It would be great to see a desk build using as few tools as possible (for people who don't have a full workshop). You just got a new subscriber :)
That desk is stunning and I love all of the tips and tricks you shared in the video! Using magnets to hold that panel on is just pure genius Brad. Take care and have a blessed day! - Ed
Geometric drawer fronts made me click the video. I wish I had CNC, because I have done some simpler geometric designs with a router and it is pretty nerve wrecking. Overall very lovely and utilitarian desk.👌
I may be more of a computer guy than a woodworking guy, but imagine using VGA in 2020. Fantastic build none the less, and I may just have to try and get my hands a bit dirty to turn out something similar.
Very nice build, I learned a lot from this and got nice ideas. Thank you! I'm in design process of making my fiance a drawing desk with tilted drawing space, which can be then lifted up on hinges and on the underside of it is a computer screen and inside all the peripherals hidden. You gave me good ideas for that one!
Nice job. I just bought a sit/stand desk and with just the flat top I'm feeling quite overwhelmed with all the wires hanging every where. I plan on pimping out my new desk and I think I'll start with the cable management. I really like you idea of using magnets for easy access. I believe I'll steal, um, be inspired by your magnet idea.
Really beautiful result man, great job! You took the mistake with attaching the leg stretchers so much better than I take way smaller mistakes. I gotta get better at that!
Nah. Mallet across the workshop is the way to roll. Once you have patched enough holes in gyprock due to a temper tantrum you learn to dial back your reactions!!!😆
To get around the issues with using pocket screws for the top, you can increase the height of the drill block on the jig. That will put the shoulder of the pocket hole far enough back to deal with the longer screws and actually give you a bit more meat for the screws. I did this on a walnut faceframe and it worked like a charm 👌👌
This is great. It turned out great. Love the fronts with that epoxy. And all the... Design features. Lol. It's great to see the mistakes and how to fix them.
Hi guys I’m in the hospital recovering from that insanely crisp transition at 11:34
Really wish I could like this comment more than once!
Took me a minute to get that one right. Glad it hit 😀
Whoa! Totally missed that - thanks for highlighting it. That's the coolest transition I've seen!
First thing I came to the comments to point out. Such a nice touch! Hope your recovery is swift lol
It was so crisp that I didn’t even notice it
I enjoyed how you converted "mistakes" into "design features", a useful skill.
a Bob Ross disciple?
Woodworking like a programmer: It's not a bug, it's a feature!
Cool clamp pads!! Epoxy pattern looks sick!
channeled my inner Maker Ranch on this bad boy :)
Pro trick: you can watch movies on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching lots of of movies recently.
I really like the suggestion of gluing on sandpaper to the offcuts. Great tip and great build, Brad!

It wasn't up yet. But is now! ua-cam.com/video/bhlzH_ktCOw/v-deo.html
One of the realest woodworkers on UA-cam, sure there may be some fancy tools, but how can you not love the honesty in his work. Awesome.
"We'll call it a design feature" - Me and my dad to each other every ten minutes when we build something
That wire management, and I have done tons of that myself, is just beautiful. Cheers! ✌️
gotta love a tidy desk :)
That transition at 11:34 is really clean. Nice build!
That is bloody lovely! Wow, such detail and craftsmanship! You should be proud.
Love that walnut! Thanks for sharing!
People like you make the world more beautiful. Thank you
that's very kind
Beautiful desk! That tip about adding sandpaper to the offcuts to help with clamping is gold! All your design features are inspirational for a guy like me, who is way too good at adding design features to my own projects 😁
it'll be our little secret :) #designfeature
Love the CNC design on the front of this desk. Great idea and nice work.
Thank you! Cheers!
That oscillating belt sander! You have the fantasy factory of woodworking.
Wow!! This is a beautiful piece! I really dig the waterfall edges on the desktop and drawer faces. Amazing stuff! Thanks for sharing.
Great idea for the back panel using the magnets. Love the finished desk. Looks amazing.
If I watch any more of these, my son (13 years old) is going to make me buy him a CnC for Christmas. Well done. So pretty. Dreaming of CnC's now.....
Amazing...I love how the drawers close by themselves. You are incredibly talented.
You put a lot of thought and work into this desk! The drawer fronts with the grout-like epoxy looks fantastic! Kids better appreciate this beauty!
Thanks! Oh, and I'm getting a clear desk cover for it just in case :)
Very nice project, Brad~! The geo patterns with black-tinted epoxy on the drawer fronts was a great touch.
There’s a 100% chance that I start saying, “Design feature” during every project for the rest of my life.
😂😂😂
Now I'm going to refer to the glowing background in my render a design feature.
Design Feature... that reminds me of flying RC planes and having an "Unscheduled Landing".
Update: I’ve had two small projects since I saw this video and they both had “design features”
1. I like your design, really great idea.
2. Looking at the front, at the way you dealt with the edges, I got a suggestion:
Considering you before assembly already know what goes where, then it would not take long for you, to cut a V-groove into the front, all the way around, then cut some strips of the plywood, where there good looking side, is the one to be turned out, at the inward is cut into an angle. Beyond that... nice show of machines. ;)
Love this, wish I had a workshop to make a desk like this. Personally, I would have left the walnut plugs exposed, it looked cool!
Love the design on the drawers! That cable management is really smart too. Great build, as always!
Extremely cool Brad! But what's even cooler is that I use referential measurements myself which normally turn into design features. Wow huh? Great design and build. Thanks for posting.

thank you!!
This is awesome! Really like the drawer fronts. Also love how you get your dumbbell workout in while you build. A+ for multitasking!
Absolutely beautiful desk man! I loooooooooooooove the cable management area. If I had the tools to make something as beautiful I totally would do it.
Man, I really love your concept of “design features”.

The desk is stunning Brad. I especially like the grain matched waterfall edges and the drawer fronts. Well done!!!
the color of the wood is awesome and the pattern on the pattern on the front is nice. really cool idea. :D

Nice work man. I wish more “influencers” would highlight their mistakes. I learn more from those than anything else! Thank you.
Beautiful build. I love the drawer fronts. Nice job!
Thanks, Tim!
Very cool design! Looks great!
Thanks!
Nice transition at 11:34 :)
had fun with that one :)
You seem like such a happy guy. Great video!

Great design & build. Draw fronts are awesome!
Great outcome! The drawer fronts are cool looking. Awesome project!!!
That desk is stunning and I love all of the tips and tricks you shared in the video! Using magnets to hold that panel on is just pure genius Brad. Take care and have a blessed day! - Ed
Looks awesome Brad. I’ve enjoyed following the build via your Patreon Builder’s Club.
A great job! and 'it's a design feature' is now my go-to 'excuse'!
Geometric drawer fronts made me click the video. I wish I had CNC, because I have done some simpler geometric designs with a router and it is pretty nerve wrecking. Overall very lovely and utilitarian desk.👌
I'm not gonna build any of this.. but I still watch ur videos and I luv them. Thank u......👍
Your videos are great inspiration. With all this quarantine time, it's nice to get some ideas for designs!
That desk turned out awesome Brad! BTW, Great design changes & very similar to what I always wind up doing.............. Stay safe.............😉😉👍👍
That turned out really sharp, Brad! I love the design on the drawer fronts.
Thanks, Bruce! My favorite feature too

I love the finish and the tops, beautiful desk

Incredible work - a true master. 🙏
What a beautiful desk!
Gorgeous build!

I gotta say that drawer front design is really sleek and a great way to step it up without making it stand out too much.
That is fantastically beautiful! So much detail and tips. Thanks. Or Ikea. Same difference. 😁
Iove your channel keep up the good work. Watch you when I am bored
feel free to watch when you aren't bored as well :)
Beautifully done
No one:
This guy: “my kids were really just design features for my life, and that’s ok”
Looks awesome Brad, great job! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Thanks, Fred! Glad you liked it 👍
Great job on the desk Brad! Thanks for sharing the video with us!💖👌👍😎JP
SuperNice desk 👍🏻
Thanks! 👍
A design feature....I gotta use that one. Thanks, desk is awesome too.
Yeah, I’m just gonna have to go to ikea. Incredible desk. Awesome work.
thank you!
Non essential Walnut 😉 - just plain gorgeous - excellent job Brad
Great design
Thanks a lot
that desk its 5 times more expensive than that HP PC System.
I'd say 50 times 😂😂

Beautiful, liked the design features!!
Great job on this build! Was thinking of doing the same thing for the drawer fronts on a night stand project but no x carve for me.
This is great. It turned out great. Love the fronts with that epoxy. And all the... Design features. Lol. It's great to see the mistakes and how to fix them.
Great build!
Love this build! I believe I am going to start using the term 'design feature' for my projects.
Beautiful!
Nicely done -- design features and all !! :) I've made more than my share of "design features" over the years.... lol
