MrGabeanator The movie is a moderately mature, extremely witty, and stylistically excellent film that this trailer makes to look like a cheap, disposable, Minions-esque, keep-the-kids-entertained-for-90-minutes exercise in mediocrity. Otherwise the trailer's fine.
This will always remain my favorite film of all time. It’s so perfect and brings a lot of nostalgia.

Saw this with my kids as an adult and I just loved it. Thank the creators for going through the tortuous pain of stop motion to give us such a fun and stylized film.

When I first saw this trailer, I didn't think much of anything about the movie. I certainly didn't think it would be one of my favorite movies ever, but it certainly is now :) The trailer doesn't do it justice, really. It's such a great film.

I watched this when it first came out, I was only 4, and now I'm almost in high school.
This movie is such an interesting midpoint between studio demands for a generic kids movie and a director's genuinely inspired vision. This trailer in specific does a good job of showing that conflict, downplaying the more surreal or stylistic aspects of the film to try and portray it as more slapstick and direct.
Love the fact that the used the Peter Gunn theme in here.

Yea it's a lot deeper than what the trailer is portraying. It's incredibly hilarious in its quirky charming way but this movie is downright lovable. Gonna buy it tomorrow

@@4tchilling956 trust me, it really doesn't match. From the tone, to the music choice. It just feels off. The trailer makes the movie appear quite up beat and chaotic when it really isn't, this movie is clever and well put together. And don't even get me started on the voiceover, it's just ridiculous. Looks more like some quick, cash-in, money grab if you've only seen the trailer.
I remember watching this as a kid and after viewing it now I can say without a doubt, that it's far more enjoyable as an adult.

This is why it was a box office failure. Parents didnt allow kids to see it because it had smoking drinking a violence, teenagers and adults who arent wes anderson fans didnt see it because it was advertised as a kids movie. It was so amazing though!
This is why I love my mom. When I was a kid, I was usually lecturing her for letting me see something scarring on the screen. I don't my mom even caught the adult themes in this movie.

The UK trailer had his name. I guess maybe the makers assumed his work is better known than he is outside of the UK.

Oh I love this movie and it was a perfect stop motion animation created by a artistic director, Wes Anderson. It may be the classic like "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory," but this one is fantastic adaptation I remember watching this movie in a quiet limited theater and it was so good. The story is about Mr. Fox and his family gather around to steal chickens and food, but these three hunters are trying to kill them and Mr. Fox's brilliant idea is to keep them and his animal friends stay underground while they're planning to steal food and all that stuff. The animation looks good and it was done by Anderson who knows how to set quality for one set of the cinematography and the creatures look cool and the cast were great including George Clooney is awesome as Mr. Fox. The film does sticks closely to the Roald Dahl's adaptation and clearly they said its for adults because children wanted to see a better a family film than this. But it's for everyone to enjoy. Classic film.

Don't feel bad, I made the same mistake.
As kids we wouldnt've seen beyond a shitty trailer. Back then I ditched it too thinking it was gonna be some shitty indie type of animation, only last year I got myself curious enough to check it and oh my have I fallen in love with it!
I've seen both; if given a choice at the movie theater though, I would've picked Mr. Fox having known nothing about it and having never seen a Wes Anderson film before, just on the poster alone. There's like no excuse there.
