The art is crim-dela-crim (but i've always loved golden age art) and it is cool to get a subterranean character. The story set in water is something I have never seen - aquatic/subterranean. In that story i agree he didn have to kill all those men if they were under the villains sway and they were hypnotized.
That makes sense to do a book about an underwater character. Rockman is essentially the story of aquaman but underground instead of undersea. So I think its possible. In fact, ill put that idea on the list for potential new characters. Maybe we could even make an underground vs undersea war with the humans caught in the middle.
The debut story was drawn by Charles Nicholas but the art on the next stories were drawn by Basil Wolverton. The art work reminds me of Robert Crumb or Ed Roth.
@@HeroicNerd Dude I wish you were part of our crew in the 70s (yeah I'm ancient ) we LOVED Golden and silver age stuff. we found a huge box of stuff from the 50s and early 60s and 40's the old man who lived there died and his family just threw it away...long story lol HE was a character lol
Seriously? I can understand going alone against small bands of human criminals. But come on Rockman you invade your peoples ancient enimes kingdom alone and don't summon your army till they catch you. You are lucky the Pixie King was busy with other affairs of state:)
He is like Doc Savage with his strength and keen scientific mind. But I feel like the character is missing something and I can't quite put my finger on it. He would be better if he was an ambassador from the underground as opposed to an espionage agent. I think they only made him an espionage agent because it was popular at the time.
The rock man and thing should had a team up book called rocking adventures

@@HeroicNerd will you make a video on Captain Wonder? I think he's a pretty interesting early Marvel Superman.

I think you might have that the wrong way around. Basil is the original artist (and probably writer), and then Chuck & Stan take over.
I was looking for a song for a sample and this popped up..."Underground secret agent?" sign me up!
Stick around. We've got tons of cool stuff coming.

The Twelve was AWESOME!

I said the same exact thing!. Hes crazy going alone. Especially considering how formidable the pixie king turned out to be.
In the 12, it would be interesting if his world was destroyed because of shifting ground by all the extracted oil
Probably Tuk the Cave boy. They were around about the same time.
I think Rock man gives me more of a doc savage vibe . With a bit of black panther thrown in

@@HeroicNerd he doesn’t have a utility belt and group for friends for back up like doc savage does
Rockman is hard
