I’m really late responding but thanks for the video. I somehow missed this device even released and now it’s nowhere to be found!😂 That design looks perfect for my preferences. Seeing your video filmed at that camera distance really gives a good perspective on the size. I have an Oasis and a Pocketbook Era and 7 inch is too small. I got the Scribe and while initially pleased, I’ve found it to be too big. I really don’t know what the perfect size is for me, but somewhere in 7.8-9 range has to be it. I also love the physical buttons on both sides and home button. Hopefully I can grab one when they restock in May.

What also got my attention is what appears to be a self propelled autonomous lawn mower visible from your window. Not sure if you've done a review of that but it would be pretty interesting if you ever do.

2:10 in that baby crashes at full speed into the stone by the tree haha. Great review I’m waiting for these to be back in stock. I’m a little annoyed how hard it is to get library books on Nook versus Kindle but the larger screen at 300 dpi is worth it
I’m a long time fan of B&N’s Nooks, but $200 for this ereader is too steep. Aside from the larger screen size and the audiobook features, it’s a no-go for me. (And I LOVE my ereader.) B&N need to fix their software problems with the existing Nooks and fix the online bookstore and enable side loading the Libby app before I buy this version.
The good news is that the GlowLight 4 with the smaller size and no audio is still quite a bit cheaper. I agree it's a bit spendy, but I paid the same for my Kindle Signature Paperwhite too...

Very clear review. I found no mention on the apps to be installed. I would like to download epubs AND Kindle ebooks. Would it be possible with this device? I live in Italy, so downloading would not be a problem with ADE app. Thanks!
I'm new to the Nook and wanted to know how you can upload PDFs. For example, Amazon has an email address to your Kindle. How does the Nook do this? And another question, I was wondering how you can export your notes. For example, Kindle will let you email your notes from the book that you're reading. Thank you for your time and answering! Can you sideload the whole internal space or is it partitioned? I'm searching for a 7,8" or 8" ereader for black and white comics, either this one or Kobo Sage
Does it still have the soft touch feeling on the back of the device? With the glass front, I understand that the soft touch sides of the GlowLight 4/4e aren’t functionally possible. And how are the page turn buttons? Any creaking? Sometimes when I hold my GlowLight 4 and read, I’ll get some creaking noises right at the page turn button areas. Also confirming there isn’t an invert mode? When the background is dark and the text is white? Kindles have had this as do Kobo ereaders. Thank you for the review!
Sounds like your best bet would be to pop into a Barnes & Noble and have a few minutes of hands-on time to answer all your questions. Definitely no creaking on this unit, tho!
Is that display 7.8" without the black bezel or with it? BN's website shows the measurements and it seems they include the bezel around the e-ink display as 7.8". Possible to get a confirmation on the display itself without the bezel? I'm guessing its 6.8" without.
Companies don't do that. TV companies don't do that. Laptop companies don't do that. The screen is 7.8" diagonal. You can do it with math too. The GlowLight 4 Plus dimensions are 7.8" x 5.8", so a quick query to ChatGPT solves the overall diagonal measure: "The diagonal length of a rectangle can be calculated using the formula: √(l² + w²), where l is the length and w is the width of the rectangle. In this case, the length is 7.8 and the width is 5.8. So, the diagonal length of the rectangle is √(7.8² + 5.8²) = 9.6 (rounded to one decimal place)." 🤓
I'm on here to hear the review before buying this Nook BUT I NEED TO KNOW.... what in the world is that non human needed to push lawn mower that you got going on in the background???
Not much of a "review" is it? No mention of the overall performance (previous Nook's were slow), or its features, or what it's missing over the competition, or how it compares price-wise to its competitors. Why call these "reviews" when all you're really doing is going over features? For instance, others have said this Nook doesn't have landscape mode - with that super big screen isn't that a waste of space? Some actual user experience would have been very helpful, not just a retread of features we could have seen on the BN website.
It's a qualitative review; I talk about performance and demonstrate that it's plenty fast enough for its intended purpose, list all its specs and features, etc. I don't do price comparisons because prices are fluid. Maybe you didn't watch the entire video?
For anything less than a 10 in tablet I really can’t see much value in the landscape mode. You pay a little extra for this to get an extra inch of screen and feel like you’re actually holding a paperback versus the standard Nook but it’s not even real estate for landscape to be a helpful feature
