    I weighed 251 lbs when I started rowing in nov 2020. As of feb 10 2021 i weigh 218 and continue to drop. Getting proper technique down took me a little bit but once I did, wow awesome. I row at least 5 days a week now and love the time I get to myself. I’ll repeat what others have said. The cardio workout from this is awesome.

    Hey Austin! Just purchased your new book and will be starting next week. However, I have been doing the 1:1 interval rows a few times this week. I’m not new to rowing (former IndoRow instructor) but in switching to your technique, I have noticed some back soreness (not pain) just below my shoulder blades. I know in one of your other vids, you mention these muscles briefly in proper shoulder placement. But I wanted to make sure this is normal for soreness to initially occur here. My lower back feels fine👍🏻. Thanks!

    for not only a beginner on the rowing machine but to daily work outs in general im thinking at first before i start doing any HIIT routines what im doing this first week is just rowing at moderate pace focusing on the movements and proper form ill row for 45 minutes just concentrating on doing it right. i feel like long term this will be better then jumping into HIIT which is my ultimate goal woudl you guys agree or not i'm thinking maybe 3 weeks to a month just get the aerobic mostly and cardio from doing it for a while while practicing the skill and focus part..how did you guys first start besides watching a million videos?

    • @trainingtall
      @trainingtall  5 років тому

      Well this type of workout is great for when you start because on the minute "on" you can focus on proper focused form, and on the minute "off" take a bit of a break. Best of luck to you! By the way my rowing program is specifically designed to start you off slow and build you up over the course of the month!

    Hi Austin, new subscriber here! As an overweight person I can find it difficult to straddle myself in or reaching for the handles or just starting off. I sometimes push my knees outward to come in closer because of my stomach. But, I am worried if I continue to do this it may begin to damage something, I don’t know.
    Secondly, in another video you mentioned using a towel to soften the seat a bit. Do you know if a cushion is available. Since the concept 2 weight limit is 500lbs. Do you know if they offer modifications.

    • @trainingtall
      @trainingtall  5 років тому +1

      Hey thank you for reaching out! Pushing your knees out a bit is okay when you first start off, but definitely be careful if you feel that you are developing knee pain! And yes there are cushions out there! I recommend a JeL pad from jlracing.com! Good luck to you - and the most important thing to remember is that you being CONSISTENT with your exercise will be very important for your success long term!
