So helpful. Thank you. I bought the same mirror online (price up a few dollars) and though I have minimal mechanical skills, I was able to install in a few minutes. Thanks for saving me a ton of money.
8/27/21: I purchased same mirror you had, changed mine today--so easy!! Minor problem was which tool would fit into hole, my Allen wrench's didn't but I had some other tool that did. Thanks again!!
Thank you so much! i watching your video its really help me and solving my problem. The dealer would want me to pay $135 to replace it and plus taxes and labor
My rv mirror fell up/off the plate. Got it back on using the set screw and it fell off again after three days. Can I glue the set screw in place? 2016 Soul
If you glue the set screw and need to remove it sometime you would have great trouble. You may want to try Threadlocker on the screw to keep it from vibrating out.
There should be a clip or release for that you shouldn’t have to break the mounting plate off the glass. I would check other UA-cam videos for your specific car
Hey I have an 06 Corolla and got a new mirror from a junkyard car but the current broken one I have is still basically stick onto the backing plate even with the screw off, any tips?
Assuming you have the same rearview mirror on your Toyota… With the setscrew removed the rearview mirror should slide off of the mounting plate in an upward direction. If it is sticking… Make sure you are only trying to move the mounting bracket and not the plate that is glued to the windshield. It may take a little finesse and effort to get it off. Whatever you try… Be careful that you don’t also remove the mounting plate or worse than that crack the windshield. Let us know how it works out.
Your mirror is probably a little different. I think there is a clip that holds the mirror to the mounting plate. You just pry the clip down which will allow you to slide the mirror off the mounting plate. There are videos online that will show you how to do it.
@@helpinguonline ...just a follow up...I went to Toyota dealership to order a replacement interior rear view mirror for my 2006 Tundra...the parts employee quoted two prices $1,000 and $150!!! I went to Amazon, ordered a $40 mirror, loosened set screw as you demonstrated, slid the new mirror onto the bracket, tightened the set screw and can see clearly now😅...

My mounting plates glue melted and fell off... Where do I get some proper glue or double sided tape that can stay attached to a hot windshield in AZ?
If you’re not sure what to get you can go to an auto parts store to buy the proper glue… Or online
my civic has some kinda clip type mount instead of a plate and screw, i think i gotta pull it off and glue the metal button on

6/11/22: THIS WAS HELPFUL THANKS
good looks bro. super helpful!
does the newmirror distort the distance like the passenger mirrow does?or is as good as stock for distance of the car behind
There is no noticeable difference in viewing distances but the quality of this particular mirror (adjusting) is not as good as the original equipment.
Nice piece of information..thanks dude
Great video, thanks for the help
Glad it helped
This is great, think this would still work on a 2015 scion?
