I've never ridden a HD and after watching i don't think i ever will. Its not my kind of bike for the riding I do these days. I'm in the less is more camp so I'll be sticking to my GoldStar and the country roads. Admire you trying that big lump Richard, though its not for me.
Hi Richard, I had a HD Ultra Classic a few years ago. Loved it. My missus, who sadly doesnt ride anymore said it was the most comfortable bike ever. It is a heavy lump though wheeling in and out of the garage and I didnt think ideal on our little bimbles on b roads. But then thats not what its for. That Stereo/ sat nav is amazing. Good memories. We had a pup when I had mine, his names Harley. So Ive got a constant reminder.👍 Ride safe.
Great bike Keith, and perfect for trans continental travel. Whilst a heavy thump, I was surprised how well the Ultra handled. Especially with such a short ride out. Great name for the dog 😆👍
Hi interesting video beautiful bikes but not for me if I was in the market for a bike like that I’d have a Honda gold wing without a doubt a lot more refined more reliability on par with comfort I would think they call Harley’s tractors but I can’t say because I haven’t rode one but great video and I’m not putting Harley’s down they are beautiful and a lot of cleaning as I am I’ll stick with my rocket it’s the best bike I’ve ever had so I’m very very happy ride safe take care
To tell you the truth Nicholas, I was frightened to death at the thought of dropping it and the costs I would have had to pay (this is an assumption). Whilst a great and wonderful ride, I did prefer riding the rocket. So much easier to ride and a super smooth engine. Great experience though - I very much doubt I will be buying an Ultra Ltd any time soon 😆
I've always loved the look of Harleys but the two I've ridden have not inspired me to buy one. My Son is a massive Harley fan and I've ridden the two he's had but found them very heavy, a bit vibey and I really don't like floor boards.
I too had the opinion that these were heavy and shake like anything however, whilst this Ultra is heavy (no doubt), it is buttery smooth, no shakes at all. The balance shaft must be doing its job correctly 😆. I won't be buying one but it was a great experience to be frightened to death 😆
That was a fun video Richard. I live in the U.S., & I've only owned one Harley in my 50-plus riding years. Owned it for a couple years. I just picked a not to popular model. Other models were better. I'm like you in that I don't like traveling in groups. Seems to be too much testosterone flowing the majority of the time. Thanks. Cheers!!
Hell of a machine Larry and certainly not what I was expecting. Super comfortable but as I said the HD team, the first three seconds gives the same experience when taking off in a helicopter, you never know which way it is going to go 😆
Hi Mosher, go for it. It is a great weekend. BUT - you will need to take a friend or two with you. I watched a few loners and they looked very lonely. Horses for courses I guess. You should come in 2025. Would be great to say hello to you 👍
Out of curiosity , is it easier or harder to corner at speed than a Japanese mid size sports tourer. I ask because I have been overtaken by a few Harleys on back roads , in fact they are too quick for me on my Versys 650 , but admittedly I slow down on blind corners and approaching farm house driveways ( think dogs). But being honest they would flog me anyway .😊
Good question. Bearing in mind, i only had the bike for some 30 mins. After the first 10 mins, I settled down. The handling was great however, I don't go racing around the streets. I assume if you have lots of experience on this type of bike, you can really throw it around the corners, not unlike similar bikes from the other manufacturers. My concern was dropping the bike when stationary or coming to or from stationary. space for my feet between the rider boards and the pillion boards was very limiting. It really is a big bike 😆
Good point Mark, the reason is 40 years of smoking cigarettes and now I pay the price. I give myself.......mmmmmmm........10 years before I curl up my toes 😆. However, I have had a great life and have seen and done most of what I wanted which is good 👍

😆, this Ultra is that big it generates it's oven gravitational field 😆

Richard, thanks for the ride out experience on the big Harley. Looks great for touring but for me, I would always be worried about dropping it!
exactly my fear - the cost of dropping this bike would be - expensive??? 😆
Those two escort riders seemed very organised, quite impressive how they kept you all going.😀 I think it was two !
Hi Mark, they certainly did not hang around. Control of the whole group, which was very large, was incredibly good 👍

What’s your take on the ABR thing? Considering it for next year….

Is that Harley sucking up all the oxygen or do you need a new pair of lungs or a trip down the gym before taking on proper men’s weight bikes again 😂
