All UA-camrs have or are getting the new bikes..cause they make content (Matt Laidlaw excluded cause he owns a dealership). The Limiteds are set up from the factory to tour, and comes with GPS. The new ones can tour, but with an upcharge for the GPS and no tour pack, and from what I have heard, a little less comfortable. Even with the tech upgrades with the new ones (I like the huge display), I am content with my 2022 CVO Roadglide Limited.
I would rather buy the last year model of a vehicle of any kind than the first year model. That’s just me. I’m sure there are others out there like me.
I bought a new 24 roadglide few months ago, got about 7000 miles on it now (11000 km since I am in canada). So the limited comes with lowers and mine doesn't, but on the 24 the way the rain deflects off the cooler cover it completely soaks the inside of your shoes and legs. Just a wet hwy is enough to soak your boots. My display completely quit on it. Just a black screen. Have to use my phone now as a speedometer, and nobody know how far the infotainment screen is away. My front brake rotors are completely warped on it since I am not a slow rider. Not impressed with brakes on it. But supposed to be covered under warranty. Got tons of power that's not a issue what so ever. So maybe people should wait a year with buying the new model and go with the old model. Not impressed really.
The lowers, for me, are THE factor. I love them, don't ever want to be without them again. And I live in Southwest Florida. I like the wind protection, I like the look. I ride a 2022 RGL and have no intention of switching. That being said, if the new ones had lowers, or when they come out with the Limited's in the new style, I'd consider it, I guess. I really like the bike I have, and there's nothing I can't do with it. I've owned most of them (softail, dyna, sportster), and I still have a 2003 Road King, but this version of the Limited is, in my opinion, the best motorcycle they've ever made.
I'm still rocking a '14 Ultra Limited with no plans to upgrade anytime soon so my input is based on that...the king tour pack may give off geezer glide vibes but 100% once you have one, you'll never want to go without again. Lol! That thing is so damn handy even when you're not touring. I love it. ✌
I'm with you on that! I'm looking for one I like the Lowers so I can ride in the cold easier. I don't care what others think so functionality is priority for me
I dont like the lowers look but in the winter I use the zip on lowers so I understand why people like them. I always hated the tour pack but decided to try it out got one from amazon TCMT have to say uts very useful I really love I can go to a restaurant bring my leftovers home and what I really like is that I can lock my helmet and my pack don’t have to carry it. I can take it off my sissy bar when I don’t need it, which is great.
Test rode a ‘24 117 with the new electronics.. wasn’t blown away and I like long distance riding so I’ll keep my ‘23 limited. It’s tried and true and I’m sure most if not all of the kinks have been exposed and addressed by now. As with any new launch, I’m sure there are things that still need to be worked out and addressed with future upgrades.
Agreed. 22 RGS special here with 114 with better windscreen, rear shields, bars, seat, etc. I can ride days at 80 and it’s perfectly happy right along with my body.
Another well done video Matt. You're comparison between these choices is spot on. Lower fairings are probably one of the biggest factors because they're specific to each model. I had an '05 Electra Glide Standard that I installed soft lowers and fork mounted deflectors on to keep the wind off my legs for cooler weather. My '17 Ultra Limited is much more efficient in managing that wind. You can open the doors down there with your feet if it's too warm, I also think heated grips are a game changer and I'll never go without a King Tour Pack with the power port inside again. Even though I'm vertically challenged (compared to you) I also prefer the taller shocks for ride quality. Stock shocks suit me fine since I'm not trying to race it in the King of the Baggers Series. The only reason I would consider trading for the newer Gen would be for the weight as I get older. Maybe the new body style will grow on me over time but I prefer the Rushmore look on these bikes over any other era. As for the stereo, comm. system, nav. and gauge cluster layouts, I could care less, usually don't pay them much attention anyway. I ride to get away and clear my head. An open road and the sound of my pipes is all I need and I've always managed to find my way home. Keep up the superior content!
I have the 24 Tobacco Fade Limited. People constantly want to see the bike. The new bikes are missing very important items for 2024 - no tour pack and no lower fairings. Shocks also have an extra inch on the limited. When you add the tour pack to actually match the limited it’s expensive to actually match the limited correctly. Lower leg fairings also make a big difference.
Glad you are enjoying the tobacco fade, it’s a beauty! Just to clarify though the new 24 models have the same length and travel as the old limited, with slightly better quality as they both shocks on the 24 have emulsion tech. I’d say the limiteds seat though makes up for that very marginal difference so it’s still more comfortable, but just can’t help myself when it comes to clarifications hahah! Enjoy your bike man!
Solid points man. Yes, to get that kind of a paint match especially on the Tobacco fade is very difficult if you can't get it from the factory plus it's even more expensive. Congrats on the bike. Those are absolutely stunning bikes.
Matt, here's a thought to ponder. Harley could easily take the Road Glide and Street Glide and build each in, let's say, 10 different color offerings. Then they could offer a Limited Tour Package, with the King Tour Pack with the deluxe Tour Pack passenger's back rest and passenger speakers, front lower fairing, the spot lamps for the Street Glide model, and an upgraded touring saddle. At that point, Harley could discontinue the Ultra Limited and the Road Glide Limited altogether. Everybody wins here, Harley gets to eliminate 2 models, Limited customers can still get what they want via a complete color matched kit, and there would be more color options for all customers to choose from, at the time of purchase. Heated grips would either have to be added to the Limited package or be added to all the Road Glides and Street Glides from the factory. Harley could also offer Limited customers the option to order the Limited Package directly from the factory when they order their bikes, to help keep the price competitive. Harley has already begun offering Long Haul Package (in my example, this would be kicked to the curb), a Day Tripper Package, a Special Package, and an ST Package. Harley has to some degree, already embraced this type of concept. So why not make it a clean sweep and accommodate everybody with 2 models and 4 packages???
Detailed, comprehensive report on some popular selling touring models. Not my style of motorcycle, but I always enjoy the contrasts, comparisons, functionality, and nowadays cost of making it the riders own. Your video was as unbiased as possible, full of valuable info from a source that actually knows what they are talking about. Thanks, Matt.
The Lowers, the tourpak and its lights, the hydraulic clutch and the iconic stand alongwith lots of extras, cam and many chrome, nope I am not giving up my '17 ultra limited.
I prefer the smaller, less busy stylish fairing of old and do not like the squared off tank... but do like some of the 'upgrades'... kinda maybe. I'd like to know more about the difference in trail and suspension/clearance differences. That VVT deal sure encroaches on your floorboard. I think I could overlook all the negatives of the new style if they only offered sharkskin blue with chrome
I had a 2000 ultra classic. Loved that bike but it was starting to have issues. I got rid of it and I ended up buying a new 2019 street glide special. Bought the detachable king tour pack. Tall Klock Werks windshield and a solo seat. It's like having two bikes. When I want to go on a long distance trip I put the tour pack on. Load my tent and all my gear up and go. When I want to rip down the back roads when I am home I take the tour pack off and put my solo seat on. To me it's the best of both worlds. My bike now has 105,600 miles on it. Been looking at the new street glides. There sure are alot of switches, buttons and knobs. Kinda intimidating. I wish they had the cigarette lighter adaptor.
One thing you didn't mention is the painted inner fairing on the Ultra Limited. After owning one for 4 years, I can't go back to the flat black plastic look of the new road/street glides. It just looks cheap to me. I would have to go to a new CVO which is way out of the budget to make it like my Ultra.
I agree. I think they dropped the ball by not painting the inner fairing. I know they lowered the starting price and had to trim the fat somewhere, but they lost their premium feel by leaving it unpainted.
Just so Awesome Matt! One thing I’ll add from my experience. I’ll never have speakers in Saddlebags again. Anytime it rains or at the car wash things get wet inside I hate them. Anyway TYSM! We’re going to hold out until 2025 hopefully the new stuff on the Limited!
Great video, Matt. Always so informative to the viewers whether we currently own, or are potential buyers. Personally, I watch your videos simply for selling points and ideas. I’d love to be in Sales one day, so I listen to a lot of experts so when the day comes I know what I’m talking about. Can’t imagine learning from anyone better than you! Keep up the great work, man!
Love the new fairings on the 2024 models but for my needs the Ultra Limited checks all the boxes. I intend to keep my 2023 Ultra Limited Anniversary. I enjoyed the comparison and contrasting between the bikes. Thanks for posting
Great video. Much explanation as usual . I like the looks of the new bikes. I ride a 2019 ultra limited if I was to change it would be to another limited. I like the lowers and the larger tour pack. I ride primarily in Arizona and the southwest part of the states and frankly the way I see it the lowers keep the heat from the road of my lower legs as well as the cold in winter. And I like my hydraulic clutch . That’s what sold me on my bike . As for the cooling of the heads good idea to cool the back cylinder first .
Im 27 and iv been riding a 2016 electra glide ultra classic. This is my 3rd season with it and i will not own another bike without the king tour pack or lowers on an average rain storm im fairly dry some suck but the lowers make a difference especially in winter months i ride in new england i added heated grips for it too limiteds or ultra classics are the best value when you buy one used as well
At 6’4” i tried a new streetglide and was Very cramped on that bike, pretty disappointed with it, i have a 2017 ultra classic that fits better. Why are harley bikes seem to be getting smaller or is it just me?
Matt, this is a GREAT in-depth analysis. Great job, man! I try to get out of the big city as quickly as possible and into the foothills, mountains, and country, so I really appreciate what you did here. I ride a 2015 Rushmore Ultra Ltd, and a 2015 Indian Roadmaster and I tour long distance. I think that the Goldwing, Chieftain and Roadmaster having all LED hi-vis lighting, heated grips and seats, high-end suspensions, the audio and seating battles, etc, pushed HD to evolve forward in an amazing way. I do see the majority of guys wanting a Road/Street Glide because it's more practical for them to ride a bagger to their favorite local spot for food/ drinks in town. Is the frame on the Road/Street Glide the exact same frame as the Ultra, and are the fork rakes the same? That would be important for someone who actually wants to get away from 4-wheelers to grand tour (minority of guys) and not just stay local (majority of weekend warriors). I don't understand why HD is pushing the Road/Street Glide on city riders when the Road King is a phenomenal bagger. Why did the Road King get shoved to the back?????
As usual…..fantastic job on the review very informative and answered a lot of questions. I really appreciate your attention to detail and your product knowledge. Thanks again, sir.
@@MattLaidlaw going to ride to Milwaukee from Georgia next month will be my longest ride so far. I’ve only been riding three years. Hopefully, I can meet you if you go there.
Very informative comparison. I’m a limited fan myself (12 and 20) I’ve been hearing rumors that the limited won’t be back for 25 . I hope that’s not the case. Thanks again for the breakdown between the two .
I have a 21 road glide limited. No plans on trading up to a new one. They are exactly the same as mine. Not sure about the new bikes, I'll wait until they update the limited 😊 I need all the space I can get traveling with my wife 😮
The one option HD isn't even offering is a painted inner fairing. That cheap looking flat plastic looks terrible the cost of taking the fairing apart and painting not to mention the wait time is crazy
This is a decision from HD that I have a hard time understanding. Sure, the CVO needs more items to make it stand out.. But previous gen specials had the gloss inner, and the plastic on the new bikes makes it look cheap as all get out. That inner is part of the reason I won’t be changing from my ‘22 Ultra to the ‘24 SG. Absolutely crazy they made the piece of the bike you look at the most appear to be the cheapest trash on the thing.
I’m have trouble making my cardo packtalk edge and iPhone work on my 24 Road glide. My dealership and two other are not trained to help me. Does anyone at your dealership know the steps to make it work properly?
Another great vid, Matt! Very informative and comprehensive. Initially, I thought H-D screwed the dealers by introducing only SG/RG models with the new updates. I thought that would make the remaining models a tough sell in comparison. As a former Ultra Ltd owner (and a current CVO Ultra owner), you’re preaching to the choir. Up until the intro of the new CVO RG & RG ST models, I would never have considered anything less than a loaded tourpack-equipped model. I’m psyched to hear that you’re getting a CVO RG ST and am very interested in your take as a long-term owner! I still don’t know if I can go without a tour pack (even my RKC has a detachable leather TP which I rarely take off), but one can be added to the CVO so we shall see! Rubber-side-down, Enjoy and Cheers!
Nailed it Matt! I am waiting on next year's models to see if H-D is going to make a limited version of the new Road Glide. From your Alaska riding friend, Jim
Hi Matt, I love the look of the ultra limited, I’m an older rider, lol, but I hope the lower cooling system finds its way into the limited models because it lowers that added weight which can make a difference …. A small observation but one worth me considering going to the limited, I’d buy it and go with the detachable kit on the trunk…
Let me say up front that I'm a lifetime Honda guy, and I ride a 2016 Gold Wing with 100,000 miles on it. THAT SAID... I've had the opportunity over the last year and a half to put some significant miles (many hundreds, if not close to 1000) on a 2011 CVO Road Glide Ultra. I *get* it. It's a nice ride. It makes a nice sound going down the road, it has a charming mechanical presence at speed, and it's not even that hot as long as you're moving. But there's still 3 significant things that are obstacles to me owning a Harley-Davidson touring bike. 1) The vibration. Why, in the name of Willie G., does the Motor Company not employ dual counterbalancers on the touring models? 2) Reliability. The internet is filled with example after example of people needing to rebuild their engines at 50-80K miles, and this is seen as acceptable. I can't wrap my head around that; I EXPECT my Gold Wing to go 300,000 miles on that engine with nothing but regularly scheduled maintenance (which I follow), and if it doesn't I'll be sorely upset. I can't understand why the faithful accept the need for rebuilds. 3) The Price. My god, Harley bikes are expensive. It's a real challenge to justify $30K+ for a new Harley-Davidson touring model. Don't misunderstand me. I'm not slagging on Harleys. I'm saying that I actually enjoy riding the Road Glide that I have access to (even if it's pre-Rushmore), but these are the three issues that keep me from switching teams. I bought my '16 Wing new in crate in June of 2020 for $15K, and have put 25,000 miles a year on it since I bought it. It's a paragon of reliability, and while I think Harley makes beautiful and enviable machines, those 3 obstacles are there, and I don't understand why they aren't addressed. (No doubt the faithful are going to react emotionally to what I said, rather than respond objectively.)
Great video. I actually bought a 2024 Roadglide and this video makes me feel better about my choice. I originally wanted the Ltd, but was disappointed when in January it was the same as last year. I am hoping that they will eventually come out with lower leg fairings for the new models being that I live in Canada .
The styling of the new fairings are not for me. Too futuristic for my tastes. But understand why that happens from time to time and theres no doubt the tech improvements have some worth to them. I felt similar when the Rushmores came out and I own an 18 Ultra LTD. So eventually, it grew on me enuf to get one. And future HD riders will get on board eventually as they almost always do. Ultimately, this review covered just about everything one could consider for these bikes. As an older rider, I’d probably grab a LTD if I had to buy one now based on my needs and known exhaust and tuner upgrade capabilities. Otherwise, I’d probably wait a couple years when some of the LTD goodies are available on the newer models with larger radio screens. Hopefully by then the new fairing and tank/bag lines have grown on me. Nice work Matt as usual!
My main concern is that they may ditch the Road King, the model I own, altogether, it’s the 30th Anniversary and not a peep from TMC yet about it! But I for sure think like the Road King, the Limiteds have very much slipped into a certain niche. Hardcore tourer who takes multiple trips a year or lives where weather is cold/can change on a dime, or always needs that extra storage and always has that tour pack on there. I think the Glides will be the best choice for about 85-90 percent. Great thing about Harley, just like the Dynas, stuff gets discontinued but never really goes away. Some riders just like their analog gauges also! But yeah especially this year the Limiteds are for sure a niche bike at this point!
Thanks for the comment. Well the Road King (Standard) is gone at this point but we still have the Road King Special. Yes, I agree the Limited are a Niche bike at this point where less riders are choosing that bike. I think there are less "Road trip minded" riders out there which kinda surprises me. Or maybe it's just that since the baggers like Street Glide and Road Glides got "cooler" most riders just prefer to build-out one of those. After all it's the same frame and if people can get the best of both worlds they will!
@@MattLaidlaw I just don’t like the look of fairings and don’t want to be married to one, but love storage and touring comforts. But the updated suspension and stuff on the new Glides is for sure all you need and you can build it out to do almost anything!
@@MattLaidlawI think it’s the brand new toy that everybody just has to have because it’s new. So for the people that would normally go for the Limited, they’re gonna just eat that extra cash to add all the touring gear after the initial purchase so they can have the new bike. I’m sure they’ll drop a limited version of the new style soon. I would assume that this is probably the last year the Limiteds will have the older style setups.
Not the target audience for this video but I found it informative and enjoyable. I'm a get the latest tech you can type of person. So no brainer for me.
Not having lowers was the biggest thing I missed going from a road glide ultra to the new road glide (Like whoa its cold in the winter LOL) , but the lightness, power, and big digital screen more then makes up for it. So many dealers service writers are uneducated on the new ones and simplicity of so much Harley did, such as a bar change like Thrashin's bars are easily a 1-2 hours job, a stretch at a 3 hour job. But every single dealer I called is quoting 7-10 hour job which is literally insane.
Great explanation and I agree I bought a tour pack put all the quick release stuff on and I honestly don’t think I have ever taken it off. I personally would build the new model as opposed to buying the older style.
The king tour pack on my ‘13 ultra gives m the space I need to use it to commute to work. I work at different sites and have items I need to bring with me. It’s definitely a bonus and something I would look for in a new bike. Additionally, in my opinion, the tour pack is easier to just throw items into than the saddlebags
That’s not bad, but you can do better. I found a 2019 road king special. February of 2020. The bike was in excellent shape with only 4,200 miles. My buddy bought new at Harley dealership, put some accessories on it . Then in 8 months the got tired of it. Sold it to me at 34% off book. I am on my 2nd set of tires and the bike has 27,898. Miles on it now. Paid cash.
Ride modes come standard! No subscription needed for those, just the Harley navigation if you want it but I’d just stick with Google or Apple Maps as Matt says
I went to a CVO Street glide from a ultra limited and bought all the stuff to tour two up. Taller windscreen, put Harley Davidson lights on the lowers, got a paint match trunk put the rack on it. Bought the hammock seat. Put a windshield bag on. I also got the small back rest that matches the stock seat and the rack. I can switch the bike up like a swiss army knife 😊 but the ultra limited is still imho the best touring motorcycle ever built... the wife and I have our own bikes for days we just want to run around so now the cvo stays in full dress mode most of the time and we use it to go out of town together. long story short for two up riding and mostly traveling go with the limited imho...
Hello B. Mason Thank you for the awesome video I'm ordering my exhaust today. It's finally back in stock at brocks performance w/silencer. Can you point me in the right direction to find the BLACK heal guards? Thanks for ATL B. GRANT
3 weeks ago had this question as well. For me I already had a tour pack that was vivid black. I do alot of miles and the limited had alot of great things but I wanted the new fairing and bigger motor as well. Plus the better cooling makes a difference. Idk just my 2 cents.
Matt is this new technology coming to the tri glides, cvo . I have a 2020 tri glide and I love the ride.I couldn't go with cvo because of lower wheels and not a smoother ride. I have a serious back injury and lot hardware in my lumbar and pelvis but I love my tri glide and the lowers work great in New England area colder weather. Love Harley and the brand. I started on a 84 shovel head FXEF 1340. Matt keep up the videos and information. All the best to your dad too.
I just bought a 24 RG limited. I wanted a touring bike. Not a bar hopper pretending to be a touring bike. Factory tech is usually a joke. As long as i have android auto, i have my music, my maps, and Sirius through the app. I love my new bike.
The big factor that wasn’t covered is the resale values of both bikes. The limiteds are going to be even harder to sell next year if and when Harley updates these bikes to the Gen 3. I brought a 120th anniversary ultra and it was hard to sell to move to a 24 CVO.
Heated grips, leg fairings, king tour pack, android auto(google maps), and rear speakers all add up on long trips however that extra power and infotainment system is awesome.
Excellent recap. My guess is that the limited will see the new fairing, motor and technology in 2025--at least the CVO's. Probably worth the wait if you really want a new touring bike.
Does the new infotainment system have an integrated WHIM? Or is purchase/installation of a separate WHIM still required for wireless audio to a Bluetooth equipped helmet?
I covered this in the video but the answer is, Yes. The new 12.3 skyline OS system does not require the separate purchase of a WHIM. You can pair a headset to it right away.
I bought the 23 CVO but not a day goes by that I wish I still had my ‘18 RG. I’m glad I have the 23 but I’m full of regret that I traded in the ‘18. Whew…feels good to say that out loud. Thanks for listening.
Obviously you get the new gen and build it out. Unless the old gen limited is discounted. If I was the dealer I wouldn’t want to get stuck with all the old gen inventory so I’d probably discount them. Though some customers don’t care about the gen they have so those people might pay full price for an old gen but I’d assume not many customers are like that. If you’re not worried about moving old gen bikes and aren’t willing to discount then I guess it’s a no brainer to build out a new gen or wait for a new gen limited
One major difference between the old and the new styles is you cannot put a 135 crate motor or even a 131 stage four kit on the new generation bikes (yet). So if one is looking for a little more performance, all of the 23 models that are still available and three models for the 24 year, those being the road king, special, ultra and limited can be fitted with the performance kits, where as the new bikes only have stage 2 compatibility. Of course those living in CA are s.o.l. either way.
Great information, thanks. The other consideration for me would be weight. I’m getting too old to manhandle these monsters, and the 40kg extra of the limited makes a difference.
Great Stuff Matt. I test rode the new road glide and loved it but I do a ton of miles on my bike so comfort is ket. I think I will hold off until they update the road glide limited after watching your video.
In my mind if you want a Limited just buy a garage queen, price will be lower and you might get some upgrades. Or wait to see what HD does on the new Limited. Either way it’s a buyer’s market right now
Sooo much a 👍. Wanting to transition from my ‘16 SGS to a new RGL but can’t bite the bullet on that coin w/o all the ‘24 options offered on the other bikes. Come on HD, let’s get ‘er done! May be nonsense but heard there will be no new Ultra bikes from the factory. Will have to buy ‘base’ and pay for the upfit. Hope not.
2019 Ultra Limited is the best bike for long trips with a passenger. Make it a pleasurable ride for your passenger. Give them a proper backrest, and you won’t regret the extra storage space in king tourpack for both of you. 114 is a sweet motor! Wouldn’t change a thing!
You did not mention that the streetglide is lighter and more nimble, the sound sytem sucks on the streetglide.I came off a limited and was going to go back because of the audio, but I am going to wait it out and upgrade sound. The street glide handles better. The jury is still out if the Harley 500 watt is worth the price.
This is almost exactly what I'm going through right now. I've been making the same comparison. I do wish someone would do a video comparing the Road Glide to the Road Glide CVO. What does the CVO have that the regular Road Glide does not have. Would like a new bike this year but I'm considering waiting for the 2025 models.
Fit and finish and the size of the motor are two key features when looking at the differences between a regular road glide and a CVO. The regular rogue glide comes with a 117 CVO 121. You also get a better Sound system with a CVO. Not to mention better paint and rims. I hope that helps.
@@dariuswentz8726 Thanks for you response. The things you mentioned are the obvious differences and to me the 2023 1/2 CVO in Whiskey Neat was the best paint job I've seen yet from the factory. It's the smaller items that go unnoticed until you get the bike home, the accessories. Does it have the same software and adjustments as the regular Road Glide? Does it have heated grips, cruise control, places to plug in your heated vest, hill control, all the creature comforts of the CVO minus the paint, gloss finish inside the fairing and engine size.
We call our tour pack…. Her purse box. 😂 I have a 21 RGL and I love the bike. It’s the heaviest monster I’ve ever owned. I’m 52 and if I buy another bike I will down size to a road king as they are lighter. I pull a trailer and will so until I’m too old to…. I’m becoming irrelevant for marketing as I slow down and look to my final years. 😢
@@MattLaidlaw I’d still pull a trailer behind a trike. I doubt I’d ever buy a trike tho? Im almost $40k into this RGL and that was a moment after I got home with that bike that I realized I had a problem. I had just spent more money on a motorcycle than any other vehicle in my history and I realized I need to stop. Lol I’m getting to that age….. 🤣
Stereo’s on motorcycles is a relic of days gone by. C Make the stereo an option and cut the price. No heated grips or electronically adjusting suspensions on $30k motorcycle is insane. I have test rode several HD’s because I want to like HD’s, they just don’t speak to me or offer any value - IMO. I think they are beautiful motorcycles and will continue to watch and read about HD’s.
They won’t eliminate the limiteds. They are still a huge part of their sales and a lot of people don’t want to deal with having to piece together a touring bike.
Hi Matt, my local dealer told me that they were informed by Harley that prices will increase for all models beginning July 1. They are saying this is a corporate decision. You seem like a straight shooter so are you aware of an impending price increase? Doesn’t seem likely since this would be something with a new model year.
So, I ride a 2022 FXLRS dialed in with Thrashin, Krause a Saddleman seat and Memphis Shades parts. I'm 61 and live and ride in Maine, I'm 6' tall and around 215 lbs. From March to November, I ride in the cold or heat and in all kinds of ridiculous weather conditions. It's funny how many guys bitch about little things that affect comfort on most baggers. Dude, just friggin ride the motorcycle, I have 15000 miles on my 22 Low Rider S. How much more comfortable do you want to be? It's not a lazy boy 😂
Call me crazy, but I actually want to purchase a Lowrider ST tobacco fade & an ultra Limited tobacco fade. Remove the tour back from the ultra, toss it on the low rider, then turn around and sell the ultra in its unnatural “street glide” set up. Just so I can have the paint matched tour pack for my softail 🤡
No amount of discounting would have me consider a previous generation Road Glide or Street Glide or any bike based off them to include the trikes and Limited. The improvements are just too substantial to ignore.
$50 k bike - $ 12 seat and $ 10 suspension. I own a 2020 ultra limited that got a Saddleman seat and a legend suspension within the first 5k miles. Once again the company doesnt go all the way on a touring model that owners generally put a long day on a piece of crap factory seat
Absolutely truth. I have a 2023 and a 1993 (w factory air ride technology over 30 years old) and the 93 absolutely rides like a marshmallow. It’s still my favorite for that reason alone. And it still has the factory seat. The 23’ had to be replaced w hammock immediately.
Another note, that the lowers on Limited do not only help block cold wind...they also help deflect rain
Good points. I appreciate your perspective as an actual owner of a limited . Thanks for contributing to the conversation.
So dumb that it cost $1500 to upgrade an amp and 2 speakers!!!
I don't care what others think so functionality is priority for me
Yessir. Live in CO and rode all last year because we had a mild winter. Lowers, heated grips, DC jack for heated gear. Love the UL.
Yep - my buddies bought detachable tour packs. In two years they have never removed them. Haha
@@shep68FACTS
The only thing the last gen needs is a shield and a back rest. Done. That 114 absolutely kicks ass in stock form for 2 up touring.
Yea, it's ready to eat miles
Wow Matthew! This is an info-packed video for the WIN! Thanks!!
Amazing video, really dissecting the options and helping with the decision making!
I love it when you guys go in depth with equipment 😎💪
Literally the question that’s been on my mind this week.
I know what's on the minds of the Harley world. haha
Such a great rollup and break down comparison of these bikes. Thanks so much. You've definitely aided in my decision for the next bike!
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching.
Thanks Matt, great video. Honestly... as you've broken it all down, still a tough choice!
Thanks for weighing in on the discussion.
As always, brilliant explained 💯👍🏼
Thanks man, thanks for watching
Charging extra for black on the new road glide/street Glide is crazy!
Thank You Matt! Your video, excellently done, totally answered all of my questions and then some!
Awesome! Glad I could help!
We need a Softail Wide Glide!
Haha. One of those lost models!
I’m so glad I’m thrilled with my ‘18 RGS with the chopped tour pack . It handles all my needs and probably will for the remainder of my riding years.
Im 27 and iv been riding a 2016 electra glide ultra classic. This is my 3rd season with it and i will not own another bike without the king tour pack or lowers on an average rain storm im fairly dry some suck but the lowers make a difference especially in winter months i ride in new england i added heated grips for it too limiteds or ultra classics are the best value when you buy one used as well
Great job explaining all the options Matt.
Will they upgrade the the road glide limited for 2025?
Always informational , it’s still a tough choice . But thx for all of your videos and rides 💯🇺🇸👍🏻
I have been waiting for this video!!!
Thank you sir. It’s a huge compliment knowing people get value from the videos I make. Thanks for leaving the comment!
Thank you for mentioning soft lowers. I think they are slept on a lot
As always a very informative and helpful video from Matt😎👍
Glad I could help!
I’m sure they’ll come up with something you can put on there!
Still love my 2017 RoadGlide Ultra. So much storage and versatility, it's the ultimate RG for me. Many trips to Sturgis 2up and it's been a champ.
Thanks for covering the new speaker system
Thanks Matt ...
Your Infos are great again ...
It help a lot ...
See you later ...
😉
The king tour pack on my ‘13 ultra gives m the space I need to use it to commute to work. I work at different sites and have items I need to bring with me. It’s definitely a bonus and something I would look for in a new bike. Additionally, in my opinion, the tour pack is easier to just throw items into than the saddlebags
Hi, how about the slip ons? Can they be exchange between the old bikes and new ones ?
my dealership just offered me a 10% discount across the board on any 2024 new Harley Davidson…i’ve never seen that before
Take it!
That’s tough to pass up!
Is laidlaw having any discount on the regrand opening next weekend
That’s not bad, but you can do better. I found a 2019 road king special. February of 2020. The bike was in excellent shape with only 4,200 miles. My buddy bought new at Harley dealership, put some accessories on it . Then in 8 months the got tired of it. Sold it to me at 34% off book. I am on my 2nd set of tires and the bike has 27,898. Miles on it now. Paid cash.
Great review Matt. Any chance HD discontinues the Limited’s? I think that would be a huge mistake, but curious about your thoughts.
Great video as always!
I’m attracted to machines that make a connection with me, whether I’m in the saddle or not…I can’t explain it…I’m human.
Are the ride modes a subscription?
Hello B. Mason
Thank you for the awesome video
I'm ordering my exhaust today. It's finally back in stock at brocks performance w/silencer. Can you point me in the right direction to find the BLACK heal guards?

I’m going to stick with my Rushmore Road Glide ST. It’s already a built out 131 and numerous other upgrades. No disrespect to the 24’s.
Nice man. Great bike. Enjoy
Thanks for weighing in 🤙🏼
Good to hear from people who actually put their money where their mouth is. Thanks for leaving the comment.
I definitely interested in a limited. But I’ll wait till 2025 to see what Harley Davidson comes out with.
Another good video Matt
So do you wish you had both? Why do you regret the decision?
@@MattLaidlaw Wish I had both. Mostly because I built out my 18. Bonneville salt pearl is still the best color Harley ever had.
Good point. The pricing conversation I addressed is probably inaccurate in most circumstances because most people are working deals on certain bikes.
Will the road glide 3 get the new faring
Maybe, we don't have answers to that question yet.
Even though they work for HD dealers, they don’t find out about a lot of this any sooner than we do.
Of course those living in CA are s.o.l. either way.
I'm liking that tobacco fade color.
Ultras are just tough and touring machines!!
Thanks for adding your 2 cents to the conversation. It’s good to know where people stand on the topic.
Us too Lance
Great information. Thanks
Any body catch that? He says "to put it in a nut shell" as he closes the lit to the nut shelled shape trunk on the back of the bike.
If it was me, I would buy the new Road Glide and throw a removable tour pak on it.
Thanks for weighing in
We call our tour pack….
Maybe consider a trike instead of the trailer 👍🏼 Thanks for the comment. I appreciate the contribution to the discussion.
Make the stereo an option and cut the price. No heated grips or electronically adjusting suspensions on $30k motorcycle is insane.
I have test rode several HD’s because I want to like HD’s, they just don’t speak to me or offer any value - IMO.
I think they are beautiful motorcycles and will continue to watch and read about HD’s.
Next year all the bikes will be upgraded. That usually how Hd does it. Or they could just eliminate the limiteds all together. Who knows.
They will update the prices, that much is certain.
@@m.f.m.67actually all things considered, the price of several models went down and the value you get with the new styles ones went up.
They won’t eliminate the limiteds. They are still a huge part of their sales and a lot of people don’t want to deal with having to piece together a touring bike.
stylistically, i like the larger front fender on the older generation of bikes.
f...... a bunch of speakers . ride mode is in your right hand .
Hi Matt, my local dealer told me that they were informed by Harley that prices will increase for all models beginning July 1. They are saying this is a corporate decision. You seem like a straight shooter so are you aware of an impending price increase? Doesn’t seem likely since this would be something with a new model year.
I’ve never heard that. I seriously doubt it.
@@MattLaidlawthanks man, I appreciate it.
I like all the bikes
Me too!
Kudos 🍺
Call me crazy, but I actually want to purchase a Lowrider ST tobacco fade & an ultra Limited tobacco fade. Remove the tour back from the ultra, toss it on the low rider, then turn around and sell the ultra in its unnatural “street glide” set up. Just so I can have the paint matched tour pack for my softail 🤡
No amount of discounting would have me consider a previous generation Road Glide or Street Glide or any bike based off them to include the trikes and Limited. The improvements are just too substantial to ignore.
Thanks for weighing in
$50 k bike - $ 12 seat and $ 10 suspension.
