- Takeoff from Runway 24L on a beautiful Los Angeles evening. Enjoy!
Check out the landing video of this flight for some insights on the A380 explained to me by the first officer:

(From 0 - 10,000 ft)
Peak Rate of Climb: 2368 fpm (after obtaining initial climb speed and fully straightening out from initial left bank)
Minimum Rate of Climb: 384 fpm (lowered nose after takeoff to gain airspeed coupled with onset of left bank)
Registration: G-XLED
Beautiful
Taxiing on 24L and taking off on 24L
Technically yes, but the direction we taxied was on runway 6R (the rightmost of two runways with a heading of 60). 6R and 24L are the same strip of land and each code only differentiates the direction. In this case we taxied towards the city (6R) and took off out towards the Pacific ocean (24L). Thanks for watching!
That was Runway 24L, not 6R.
Good catch, will fix. Thanks for watching!
6R is 24L reversed
@@David-kh3xp Yes, but in that direction it is 24L. It would be 6R only if they were taking off in the reverse direction.
6R is 24L reversed
Reverse ops
Correct. So we taxied on 6R (the reverse direction) and exited the runway only to turn around and take off on 24L/ Thanks for watching!
He took off west and then turned south. Did someone tell him Britain is the opposite way
@@marklee1462 😂. Good thought but that was out of the captain’s control, it was the departure vectors given to him by air traffic control who’s responsible for managing Southern California air traffic.
We ended up taking a series of left turns and crossing the coast in the reverse direction over Seal Beach with a northeast heading bound for Britain. Thanks for watching!
