Go Fast Bits DV+ Diverter Valve Install ( 2012 MK6 GTI 2.0T )

- Ever since the race against the mk7 gti we noticed the loud whistling sound coming from the engine bay and determined it was the diverter valve that was leaking and not holding full boost. Made the decision to upgrade from the factory diverter valve to the very nice Go Fast Bits DV+ upgrade and I gotta say money well spent!

I love how these cars feel after removing/ replacing the factory restrictive crap and software.
was having the same whistling noise on my car and had no idea what it was from, this helped me a lot, even though I was just browsing youtube. so thank you!
Same GFB set up on my MK6. Started with the KO3 and kept it with the KO4. Good choice...
I got a 13 mk6 gti, an soon as I put my cold air intake my diverter valve made the same noise. I put the GFB and made a big g difference, but I wanted more noise so I put the GFB+ blow off valve all n one. I love it when I let off I've scared people on the side of the road with a big woosh an no Boost leak. Great video. Keep em coming.
Maybe we will upgrade to that one down the road I’d like to have some more sound as well 😬😬
using a forge bov ??
@@vini.salgueiro Gfb, go fast bits, it's a Australian company. U can find em most places that sell aftermarket vw parts like ECS.
Just put an intake on and it is making that same noise. did the noise go away after the blow off valve? @lewis berry
So you have the VTA diverter valve bro??
You definitely farted at 6:29 and even shifted aside for it 🤣
I just got my gfb Dv+ and it wasn’t until now that I realized my stock dv is leaking really bad 😂😂 great video tho helped a lot
just got my '12 GTI tuned with the Stage 1 IE software and that factory diverter valve noise is killing me! it's not holding any boost and not complimenting the tune at all. thanks for the video - will definitely be buying the GFB DV+ now !
I literally just went IE stage 1 on my '12 GTI as well. How many miles are you at?
@@NevaLose94 sick! I'm at about 91k rn. Seems to be holding up well otherwise! The next big upgrade might be the clutch if I decide to go stage 2. I can already feel the clutch slip when I hit higher RPMs.
If you were tuning the car then you should’ve bought a DP and go straight to stage 2, stage 1 is a waste of money.
@@Monggago15 have you updated your timing chain tensioner? I’m thinking of going stage 1 with my 2012 gti.
@@Ballsack44 Yup - got it done at around 85k miles. Took it to the dealer for the job since my local shops were charging about the same price ($1200-1400) for the labor and parts. I'm Stage 2 now but definitely need to start looking at performance clutch options!
SO THATS WHAT THE SOUND IS FROM
Stock Ko3 is about 10/12psi, stage 1 usually gets you 15psi+-, stage 2 should be at 17psi, and some more aggressive tunes 20/21.
As always keep up the good work Christian amazing content.
Thank you thank you!!
That's so funny I live in Ft. Myers and I always floor it under that same overpass lmao
We don’t have any tunnels in Florida so it’s the closest I can get 😂
love the video man, but I gotta say, your clutch won't last too long if you don't start rev matching those downshifts.
You want a boost gauge like in my mk6 golf its a full vent and still have a bit of the vent nice and clean tidy no messing with the dash.
Yup! That’s the one I was talking about 😬
@@Mk3Smith I'll get a pic of it and send it to casey in my mk6 😃
Now it's ready for a remap! 😄😄
Yooo bro so I just bought a DV+ diverter valve and I took off my bov that I had on before and now I put the DV+ and now my car doesn’t want to turn on no more and I was wondering if you know why?!?
silly question. What style is the plug? you just pull? or is there a clip? fighting this thing, I just don't wanna break it. Thanks.
What’s the symptoms of a leaky valve? Whistling sound?
Did your car throw a code saying you was leaking boost ?
So even if your diverter valve is broken, this will fix it? Seems like it still needs the housing.
Nice Vid, But why did you take the wheel off?! You make it look like that needs to be done when it doesn't.
I noticed you can still hear that whining sound from the intake. I thought a diverter valve would take care of the sound? Do you notice the sound is less pronounce after the dv install or the same?
As you can see in the video, he has an aftermarket pod filter which is less restrictive. It will suck in more air creating intake noise. It just really depends what you had done to the car. Stock vs Aftermarket intake is a big difference in sound and performance.
My car also have that whistle noise. My Question is will a faulty DV throw out a rich condition P0172
Bro my dv makes same noise. I ordered a gfb bov and it didn’t work to say the least, i just got my refund from ecs tuning and ordered the gfb dv+. I’m excited
I have a 2014 Passat 1.8 turbo, I need to change this part out. It’s so difficult to reach with ramps. Any recommendations?
Odd question for you. I picked up a obd2 12v vr6 ecu for dirt cheep that allegedly has a c2 440 chip in it. I opened it up and can confirm a aftermarket chip but is there any way I can confirm what chip it is? Maybe with vagcom? Please be safe while in the states. Love your vids.
Did the upgrade make that dump valve sound?
No
Well shit, at least I know what that sound means lol. Time for an upgrade.
I have the dv+ for my b8.5 Allroad, but havent gotten around to installing it, due to all the work i have been doing on the mk3. Cant wait to get it on, now!! :D
The video was great, but the intro was next level! Is this a CCTA/CBFA or CCZB engine?
Looks to be CCTA, I don't see sai filter like the cbfa has.
@@ACHILLESR32 Thanks mate! Also thought so.
Flutter or whoosh?
The chick did all the work while you just sat there and talked
Yeah it’s her car and she likes to do the work 🤷🏼♀️ Completely brain dead comment.
What if I’m not sure if my car has the revision D Blow off valve, can I still get the GFB+ and replace it?
Mine stock makes 10 psi but im not sure what is actually stock psi for mk6 gti
Old comment I know but between 7 to 10 psi should be factory
I know the gli it's about 9
Is this on a ko3 or ko4
I got an intercooler installed and that sound is so annoying lol
Doesnt it have the blow off sound tho?
That’s why some people choose a BOV (blow off valve). The downside to BOV’s are that they’re basically just for noise and you lose boost because of it
👍
Ayo ur right near me lol three oaks road right
6:04 why cold engine?🙈😖😖😯
Isn’t cold
@@Ballsack44 The coolant isn't up to temp. So the oil is still cold
@@MauriceNL1 was gonna comment this. Gotta wait for the coolant to reach 190 then wait like 2-3 minutes more so the oil reaches operating temp, it’s mainly for keeping the turbo healthy since it’s much more prone to damage in the case of oil starvation due to poorly flowing oil.
@@mafan-_- oil maybe 6 to 8 min extra. But MK6 has oil temp gauge to see it exactly
@@MauriceNL1 you got an aftermarket oil temp gauge? Thats dope, wish more performance cars had them stock
What’s the song?
🤭🤭 Love the 'should feel faster' as if... I installed one of these on my gti it's all in your head.
nah mate he had a boost leak.
The beginning 🤣🤣
Wheres the vlogs broski ?? I’ve watched all your vlogs huge fan
do you know anyone who just sold a 2012 mk6 i just bought one in ft myers i want to know whats been done to it
Keep it up
I should have done this 5 years ago 🤦
Not his girl under the car
Man forget the plug & play GFB diverter valve
Your girlfriend gets down and dirty for you
Damn you're a lucky dude she's a keeper ...

You definitely farted at 6:29 and even shifted aside for it 🤣
