kolam is not just to invite sreedevi., but there are immense number of organisms (pranis) invisible to eyes that once resided over the neighbourhood, we demolished their abode and built structures to reside. SO our moral responsibility to provide means for their survival. Kolam should be made from rice flour, unlike many places that use kalpoldi mixed with colour.
