- നല്ല ഓർമ്മകൾ എപ്പോഴും മധുരമുളവാക്കുന്നവയാണ്. പ്രത്യേകിച്ചും കുട്ടിക്കാല ഓർമ്മകൾ. പഴയ തറവാടുകളിൽ തങ്ങി നിൽക്കുന്ന ആ മാധുര്യമൊക്കെ ഇന്ന് മാഞ്ഞ് തുടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു. അവ വീണ്ടും പൊടി തട്ടിയെടുക്കേണ്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇല്ലത്തിന്റെ ഇടനാഴിയിലൂടെ നടന്ന് നീങ്ങുമ്പോൾ ഒരിക്കലും നഷ്ടപ്പെടുത്താൻ ആഗ്രഹമില്ലാത്ത പല ഓർമ്മകളും മനസ്സിലൂടെ മിന്നി മായുകയാണ്. നമ്മുടെ സംസ്കാരവും പൈതൃകവും പുതു തലമുറയ്ക്ക് കൂടി പകർന്ന് നൽകേണ്ടതല്ലേ ..... വരു നമുക്ക് ഒരുമിച്ച് പ്രയത്നിക്കാം.

I strongly believe that the treasure of childhood memories are hidden somewhere in this old ancestral house. I want to find all those and bring to present…A day at illam with family gives a pleasant and calm experience which is soothing my mind and body. When I walked through the corridor of my “tharavadu”, lots of happiness and past memories flashed through my mind which I never want to loose again.. those memories are really stored in my heart for filling more colors in my future life…

We have same culture like you in some of our towns except we make rangoli only on festivals.
My childhood was somewhat as in this video, we had two plots of total 8 acres land many many mango cashew trees jack fruit trees on the perimeter was thick bamboo forest under which lived families of mongoose, I used to see mother mongoose going along the compound fence in a rwo mother in front and 5 cute little baby mongoose behind, there were many coconut trees 4 ponds one cattle shed one side of which was rice milling granite block with a cup shaped depression in the middle to pound with strong poles and one small house of mud and thatched roof for the family of our domestic helper, there was rice field in that land, no radio no TV no car only a bicycle. Electricity came later. We had cows of local breed goats chicken coop honey production... We walked bare feet to school one kilometer away up hill. Evenings light lamp pray then home work then super mostly rice with some curry. On festive days we walkef to the temple. We drank well water. The town was so peaceful. Now in that land there are 12 villas divided with compound walls not a single tree no pond.. Sad. And the town is dirty plastic garbage piles every where motor vehicles and autoriksha parked in three rows on the road old women and small children have no respect they have to weave through the vehicles parked on the foot path, ear bursting horns and every where lottary ticket sellers, old men old women selling lottery tickets arrogant people. Transformation of life in a small town from year 1945 to 2022....Vikasanam ha ha Vikasanam.
