I designed a dress that my sister wanted me to make for her, but I am also somewhat new to sewing so I tried looking everywhere to find out how to make a three layered ruffled gown skirt. This skirt bottom is even better! Thank you :)
I’m making this for my 40th photo shoot and I’m so excited!!! Just curious about how to make the train. I have the math all done, but I’m unsure how many of each length I need to cut. Total number of strands I need is 80. Thanks so much for this super awesome idea!!!
I did 4 of each increment. (2 strands of each length per side). So if your total is 80 the back half would be 40 strands, divided by 4 means you have 10 unique lengths. Subtract the length of the front of the skirt from the length you want the final train to be and divide that number by 10 to get how many inches longer each set of 4 strands will be from the previous one. Good luck and I hope that made sense!!
this is so beautiful! whered you get the corset? and also, im a bit lost on how you connected the 3 layers. did you just tie it together with a piece of tulle?
I got no idea about that maths cause my head don’t work well lol but, I love this simple but time consuming idea. I’m going to try and make myself a Cinderella skirt. Hopefully haha
I love it!!! Thank you for your AWESOME IDEAS! My 7yo wants a tulle skirt for her costume and I was going crazy!! I’m using this to make her purple tulle skits ❤❤❤
So I'm thinking of making my daughter who's five one for Halloween to be her own type of princess and this is GREAT I LOVE THIS !!! NEW SUBBIE YAY!! only thing I would change is that I'm going to use one of those wire flower things from dollar tree and tie the tulle pieces around that and then put the elastic in for the support
Hi! Great video! Btw i wanna ask, if we dont add train on the skirt, Is the skirt going to be a circle shape? I don't really know about dress 😅 Thanks for the ideas! ❤️
Devon Cook I just took a small piece of tulle and tied the layers together in spots around the skirt. I made like the 5 points of a star within the circle to select the attach points. Just made some basic double knots!

So the last 10 strands you did for the top layer were the train pieces?
It progressively got longer as I went toward the back but the middle back pieces were the longest.

I’m pretty insecure about my arms, do you think I could pull off the same look with sleeves?
Definitely! The skirt is very versatile and would be awesome with a long sleeve top as well.
@@ExaLectric awesome! Thank you 🙏🏽 🥰
Dear Princess, would you please share a link of where you bough the tulle material from? ♡
I love this dress. Can you use this method with other fabric or does it have to be tulle?
Tulle would work best but you could probably use another fabric that doesn’t fray on the sides.
thanks i look so pretty!
Just wow! This is great for us non sewing folks!!
but not for us with dyscalculia 😅
