"Whenever I see foreign visitors in Japan, I make an effort to make them feel welcome and less daunted by being in a foreign nation, but when I visited the United States, no one did the same for me. Why is that?" I was asked this question by a former Kyoto University Professor. My answer to him was, "Because no one thought you weren't an American." No one (I hope) was trying to make him feel unwelcome or discriminating against him for being from Japan, they simply did not think that he was a visitor from abroad. This video put me in mind of that. It is the America I represent. An America where people are like, "Look! It's a guy in a Captain America costume. That's fun!" instead of, "Look it's a guy with a turban wearing a Captain America costume, what's up with that?"
The funny part to me Is that several people mention that he is Skinny, too skinny to be Captain America, but they seem to forget that so was Steve Rogers before the Super Serum. Thus He can Be the Captain Pre-serum. Or just Super Intelligent as he pointed out. Love It!
Good for you man, do what you wanna do with life and don't let others stop you because of what ethnicity you are. At the end of the day everybody's got a dream and the only way to prevent that dream is to let someone else tell you that you can't dream.
P-e-r-f-e-c-t gesture. Just step into the role and you transform it. So glad you do this. And so glad you keep your shield polished. I've always wondered if Captain America was really careful with his stuff. He is, he is!!
Love this. Great video about pluralism in America and how we all can embody America, regardless of our skin color, religion, or where our families came from!
Wow, this was posted more than 3 years ago, and it only got 98K plus views. It tells me still not enough people are watching. The reason I know of this was he went to my son's school. It was very nice for the school and him doing this for our kids. I just think there should be more people watching and sharing it. I am not talking about the leaning the Sikh religion part, but just his message of hearing others stories etc.
I saw your animated short movie. Great stuff man! We need more perspectives like yours out there in the mainstream for everyone to see and be exposed to. You’re very brave
Awesome, would love to see an all Captain America squad of heroes with the original leading the charge, and get everyone involved in being an American. Doesn't matter what religion you are but we all can be Americans.
This is awesome! I can definitely see him being the modern day Captain America if he were given the Super Soldier Serum. I'm pretty picky about who portrays Cap, with only two worthy people in my mind--Steve Rogers and James "Bucky" Barnes (Winter Soldier)--but he makes number three.
Right On Vish! Thank you for taking on the forces of intolerance and ignorance. In addition; kudos to the big guy who immediately knew you where a Sikh.
1st up Kudos to your Spirit bro that you could come up with this idea implement it & went on to talk to outside world. Well America is lucky like other parts of the world including India where Sikhs are as most of them are Spiritually inclined emotional people. Always trying to give back to society. Cheer$
Holy crap. I remember "just married and fixing up the house." There's going to be one room, guys. It'll slowly absorb all your left over supplies, almost-useful scraps and use-once tools. SEAL IT WITH CONCRETE AND NEVER SPEAK OF IT, FOR IT WILL NEVER LEAVE OF IT'S OWN ACCORD!
this guy went to my school and we had an assembly about him! It was awesome to see him there we got to draw a cartoon for a short time he is a funny person!
Here at Feel Like You Belong, we salute the superheroes of the world who pack up their lives and families and bring their superpowers of ingenuity, industriousness, and innovation. Welcome to the USA, my new brothers and sisters!
I've loved the way you just took one of Americans most famous heroes and used it to question their values and beliefs about what it really means to be American.
awesome =) slowly the world seems to be getting there, where things are progressing they are doing well thanks to people like yourself. now if only we could open the eyes of the less progressive places where people are putting even harder rules against things that deviate from what they deem acceptable. if it harms none there should be no problem.
LOL awesome video. I think Sikhs fit more a Jedi mode myself. George Lucas should be paying the Sikh community royalties, he borrowed pretty heavily from their beliefs! Satnum my dude.
+Sikh captain america make this into a show but dont use american accent speak in punjab english and noi western music we want merry indian themes also make it a what if steve rogers never became captain America so the brave sikh with the blessing of guru nidra is becoming the superhero who fights hate kick ther ass and bless them using the turban A ray . i would love to watch these wacky adventures
Take a Sikh out of Punjab but you can't take Punjab out of him. Delusion delusion delusion ........ such are the acts that get an immigrant in to trouble. The advise is .... when you are walking on eggs, last thing you do is - Jump !
I saw the animated short film and the algorithm brought me.

It's even more fascinating to be in the same room as this man. He's an amazing person with ideas that need to be heard across the world!
I saw this months ago. Love it then. Just watched it again, and I still love it. So fun.

Honestly, I still can't get my head around the fact that there was a bloody pigeon casually loitering on a guy's shoulder like it is no big deal.

Red, White and Beard: an American cartoonist challenging what #CaptainAmerica should look like. Must-watch!

Returning to this video this week, for obvious reasons. So glad to be able to share a lighthearted approach to raising awareness! xoxo
Awesome, would love to see an all Captain America squad of heroes with the original leading the charge, and get everyone involved in being an American. Doesn't matter what religion you are but we all can be Americans.
This put the biggest smile on my face

captain america is my favorite super hero. I love this.
If the OFFICIAL Captain America can be a black man, why not a Sikh. I love it.
I love this! Can't wait to see more of it. Captain America is one of my favorite superheroes.
This is awesome, with your permission i would like to stream this on Red Dragon TV.
Right On Vish! Thank you for taking on the forces of intolerance and ignorance. In addition; kudos to the big guy who immediately knew you where a Sikh.
At 7:32 you cemented my loyal fandom, but it was well on it's way as soon as I saw your get up! :)

Well done!
I think this is AWESOME!!!! :)
This is great!
GASP! Littering! This is a heinous crime and one of the first things they teach you not to do in hero academy!
lol I was cringing during that part too. But i'm sure it was just for the camera. I don't think he would just throw is cosplay outfit away.
Especially in New York the police are everywhere.
battleoncat Not recently.
Message received !
Well done.

@6:48 - The lack of hair is a dead giveaway. No hair, just skin. The nose is what I find difficult.

We haryanavi sikh proud of you bro ❤❤❤😊😊😊
Nice effort for very good cause.
Hey, you called are class and you answered the questions
I think Steve Rogers would approve. I know I do. This is awesome.
What happened to this?
Steve Rogers (the main Captain America) is the son of inmigrants too, so I never got people thinking he is some kind of xenophobic asshat.
Civil War ain't got shit on him
very cool
There's 4 people who need better aim. They clicked the dislike button by mistake
I proud to be sikh
Imgur brought me here.
He Changed his costume , because people in us started thinking Sikhs as terrorist 🥺😞
Wel done bro ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏
cool video.
Wow You survived
lmao
strange to see that only one or two were able to recognize him as a sikh....
Any time Captain America is connected with religion, I cringe. One expects superheroes to have more intelligence than that.
Great
Awesome great job!
But ya.....I can think of one person who made cartoons based on turbans....it didn't end well............
oh come on that was different.
cash2200 lol I think he's just spreading awareness
oh god...those girls from Alabama
