Story time: Im the captain of the esports team for my high school (we play mariokart and smash bros among other things) and I was one of the best smash players in our district, however, mariokart got approved for playing by the district later, so I joined that instead, and we ended up placing top 3 in the state, so YES, a smash player CAN beat a mariokart pro
