“I don’t think prodigy would ever beat Leo again. Let me just throw that out there” Crazy the Leo is that good that mars can watch him get 3-0ed and still just be like “yeah this is never gonna happen ever again”
Well it's rare to see leo get 3 stock and marss has done it. But since he's also lost to him, he knows leo is a master of adaptation so prodigy won't have it easy next time. (Maybe)
Even if THAT wasn't enough, don't forget in the (USA or NA?) vs the world self hosted tourney that Marss said he did his job and extra because he took two LEO STOCKS ✔ you know it's official when your stocks are different from everyone else's when you're with a bunch of top 20 players in the world. And NOBODY argued it.
Leo is the best in the world because of his adaptation skills. Pros recognize and capitalize on their opponents' habits faster and better than anyone, and that's a big part of why they're pros to begin with. And at the pinnacle of that list is Leo. Mad skills
Well, not only Mars, but a lot of others including myself said that when it happened back then. Idk what it is with the American competitive scene. We see one lost and we discredit everything else like for example.. the major hype after he won and the Leo downplay talk. Or when it came to Leo and Zero.
Yess actual analysis by Marss is some of my favourite content. Cool set for an analysis would be Loser‘s Finals of Frostbite 2020. The reverse 3-0 on Tweek seemed so shocking
I know people will hate on "Reaction" videos but I love this, getting to hear him break down top-level games is something I love. If you happen to see this and continue to do this type of content, I loved watching You vs ESAM Gen 7
flip kick can combo after nair or fair 1, mario fair can be combo-ed into with nair, dair, rising or falling up air, down tilt, or a grab then down throw. so yeah it's kinda corny id say
@@jacobgosse7892 u can actually only combo it from falling up air or nair, there’s is no other situation where fair will combo. There are certain percentages Fair frame traps after a rising up air but that’s it.
1:39 That’s crazy how on the money Marss is with this. Prodigy went in very prepared against Leo. He had done his homework on the matchup and warmed up against Joker before the set
0:20 I've REALLY been enjoying Marss's more analytical videos, and when i first heard what he said about ps2, i was really excited for a video like that. Sadly, I think h'es forgotten about this video idea, i had a feeling it would've been great to hear the insight about one of the most commonly played stages in competitive play from one of the world's best.
yeah i also noticed that leo didn't play as usual, but i think he was just in a bad mood at that moment, he still won the tournament lmaao , he must have recovered afterwards. I want to say, not everyone can be perfect all the time, we don't know how his mind was at that moment.
Man F in the chat, I congratulated Marss at this Frostbite after a set, but since it was my first major I was too nervous to speak loud enough to get his attention and now I have to live that down. Same things happened with Leo, Salem, Elegant, and I almost got a chance to play with M2K in friendlies, but my pool was about to start so I left from where he was at. If you've never been to major, go to at least one (once covid's up) it's a really awesome experience
1:41 yeah prodigy made sure to get a lot of practice for the joker mu and studied like a mad man for like 2 hours before he played (or at least thats what i remember hearing)
This is a really refreshing video style from an already wildly entertaining player. Keep it up Tyler, its nice to get a peek into the mind of one of the best in the world. Its a good break from the "unga bunga" dunk on my friends haha
id be 98% ok if mars dedicated most of his youtube videos to just breaking down tournament matchups for the rest of eternity. i learned so much from watching this holy shit... but yeah the 2% of me still wants to see daily uploads of marss whipping chippy
@@williamgrace5651 Nah no DI on joker and DI away wouldn't true combo into f-air, and in this case DI in on u-air wouldn't have killed, hence why prodigy opted for n-air since he knew DI in on u-air was the only way out of dying
I love how in the description he says leo is the previous best player. Either marss is very confident or he thinks one of these wifi sonics is the new best player lmao
I remember watching that match with Leo vs Prodigy thinking that Leo lost on purpose. It was like he didn’t even try to outplay, he was just testing prodigy the whole time. Then after that match he proceeded to BODY EVERYONE. I’ll never understand if I was right or not but prodigy better saver that win and beat Leo in the next big tournament
My take on it based off what marss said and my knowledge as a player. What happens to people, it happens to the best even but wayyyyyy rarer. You could argue as good as prodegy was playing, he was also playing bad. Mkleo couldnt predict constant over aggression, he couldnt adapt to that. Like marss said the kid was practically holding forward. As backwards as it sounds, yes mkleo was playing better against wizzy, but u could argue the fact that wizzy played smarter is what worked against him. Top players look for habits in high level smash, not stupid habits like blind over aggression. The most unpredictable thing is the constant steam straight ahead. Leos aggression was desperate, while prodegys has momentum and carried dominance. If leo had slowed down and realized this he could have won that set, like marss said, prodegy will never do that to leo again. All respect to all players.
The only way to beat Leo: Make sure he never gets to game 4.
Wizzy followed that advice too what went wrong
I've never heard that one before 😏

A mario with the same name joined an arena that I was in once, beat everyone in the queue and then left. I wonder if it actually was Prodigy
i love these videos tbh, i learn so much from marss analysing sets
Prodigy did watch MKLeo prior to their set, and he practiced the matchup right before. I think that's why he was so dominating in this matchup solely
