I really appreciate your kind words! Supporting local initiatives is close to my heart, and it’s fantastic to hear about the longevity of your garden show!
congrats! I always said you guys were great gardeners! And no fertilizer just illustrates the power of compost. Is there a taste test also or just a visual judging?
Thank you for the kind words Frank! We're really passionate about gardening, and making our own compost has made such a difference. On this occasion it was just visual, but I can assure you my friend just as yours home grown tastes sooooo good!
Well done you guys for a successful show. Like yourselves I entered vegetables from my plot at my local flower show. I was well chuffed to get a first for both of my entries a cabbage called cabbice and my sweet candle carrots. The judges also awarded me best quality vegetables for which I won a silver shield to look at everyday at home and smile, until next summer when it is returned for the 2025 flower show.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us! It's inspiring to hear about your success at the flower show. Your enthusiasm for gardening shines through!
Our village show is on 7th sept. But up here in Noth Scotland the climate is cruel sometimes. I will be entering potatoes, white and coloured. Carrots, onions, and courgettes. All my other veg have not matured yet or there is no class aplicable, a shame realy, runner beans are excellent at present and cucumbers are abundant. I will be entering a jar of wild raspberry jam, a mix of red and yellow fruits.
Thank you for sharing your plans for the village show! Your dedication to growing such a variety of vegetables is truly inspiring. I hope the weather cooperates and you have a great time! Good luck with your entries, that jam sounds amazing - I'm sure they'll shine despite the weather!
Great haul of prizes, well done. First time viewing your channel. Peaked my interest as hoping to retire to North Norfolk in 3 years time and continue my no-dig growing there. Also followed your IG. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for checking out the channel! It’s awesome to hear that you’re planning to retire in North Norfolk and embrace no-dig growing. Wishing you all the best on your gardening journey!
Well done, you're a master grower. I just wanted to share something. Mainly growing lettuce, potatoes and tomatoes, let me share this little gem (pardon the pun). My lettuce and potato leaves were being eaten by slugs a lot, I have been using beer traps for a year or so, getting plenty but worried I'm attracting from everywhere around me. I used nematodes 4 weeks ago, was soaking the garden for round 2 (2 weeks earlier than recommended, to give an overlap) Garden covered with flies, dead slugs galore. I used Nemaslug about £16 on Amazon, says 40m2, my garden is smaller so it's a heavy dose.
Thank you for sharing your gardening experience! It's always great to hear about effective strategies from fellow growers. Your tips will surely help others facing the same slug challenge!

Well done the pair of you. Was wondering, do they do a taste test too for some of the entries or is it all based on aesthetics?
Thank you so much for your support! It’s awesome to see your curiosity about the process. There was no taste tests just what it looks like uniformity!
