Rap Monster does not deserve all the hate he gets from antis and supposed Army's. Neigther the unfair treatment he had gotten from other korean singers at all and it's not fair that they always make all the BTS members including RM compete on who's better looking with other people. That just makes them feel oppressed, self conscious,anxiety and afraid to be themselves,dress up how ever they want, be who they really want to be and do what they really want to because, they are afraid for people to hate them for it along to hate them mostly because, of there appearance. Guys, RM is really hurting. Even though he tries to stay strong for us, it’s so apparent in the songs that he writes. I want RM to realize that he is so amazing, beautiful, and the best leader anyone could ask for. I just want him to realize that and truly love himself.
I used to think he was just being overdramatic in his lyrics until he released Always. I realised then he was truly struggling. I was very disappointed in myself for thinking like that.

“I want to be free from freedom” is a line that hit differently. Like seriously, I think about the things he says in this song on a daily basis and it’s hella scary because it feels as though i’m reading my thoughts out loud. Really really love you Kim Namjoon.
Sometimes i just think that even among all this popularity, the real bts is still underrated. Like i know most of us are aware of their background stories but still i have this feeling that newer armies just listen to, well, slightly more popular songs. And maybe its just me but i think that their most underrated songs are the ones that represent their realness the most. I just hope all the armies at least just once listen to all the songs and trust me it'll change your persepctive of the bts, of the world, of just everything:)
PS: I know some of you must be thinking like i'm trying to be "know it all" but trust me, each day i'm myself coming across to their less heard songs and each day i'm getting to know BTS and myself a bit more....

I can't tell how much I agree with you. I feel the exact same way. A lot of ARMYs mostly focus on the popular songs, and the ignore the less popular ones thinking those song are boring (I've ACTUALLY came across a person who said this to me)
But to me honestly, their b side/hidden tracks feels more special because that shows their true self. The amount of effort and sincerity RM and the rest of the BTS members put in their lyrics and the whole songs itself is just out of the world!! I hope more people notice that.

Heyyy I'm new ARMY, 6months old. ARMY usually say "You find BTS when you need them the most". I've been discovering BTS since I found them in May. EVERYTHING BTS. I'm currently on the BU episodes reading Smeraldoblogs and watching videos.
I just found this song it just proves how much of a dark past BTS had look at them now. I know they still have their struggles with all the fame and all but they are in a better place. Sharing hopeful messages.
BTS dark past currently tells me there is hope. BTS story isn't a movie, so miracles still happen and I'd hold on to that.
As for newer ARMYs, let them continue enjoy the surface of BTS discography. A day would come when they'd dive and see how deep BTS lyrics are.

This was my first song to hear from BTS even though it only had RM in it, I didn't understand jacksquat from what he said, but the last 8 lines of the song made me... idk how to describe it mate, I started ugly sobbing at listening to the fight I constantly have between myself and my inner demons. Then I read what the lyrics meant and it's just so relatable. I honestly think out of all the songs in their album... this is the best one.

Abby Hee he is saying that even if he says he loves himself, there are always some things about him that he hates so he doesn't really love himself because of that. All those thoughts can make him feel alone (when he said that people in the darkness seem happier because they have a place to be) and it's hard to battle against yourself all the time, because it's an unending battle.. Its difficult to explain it clearly because the song is made to feel like complex and messed up thoughts but that's how I perceived the meaning; hope it helped you understand better. :)
The way I interpreted the song is that he often has periods of self-doubt, even when he's surrounded by people he loves. And when he said "people in the darkness seem happier because they have a place to be," to me that meant that depression and self-hatred are so hard to overcome because to people who experience those things, it's all they know. It's more comfortable to sit in that feeling than to try to get better. And he seems to say that maybe he's not sad all the time, but that sadness is inevitable. To someone who experiences anxiety and has dealt with depression, this is the most relatable song I have ever heard. Thank you Namjoon.

I know how people would always say he’s a visual hole or untalented or that he should leave the group but honestly BTS is BTS because of Namjoon. He is so sweet and kind and works his ass off. You're absolutely correct. He's really talented and he truly is like this comfort person for me at least. Truthfully speaking, I remember seeing him in the ON kinetic manifesto film and being like "dang who is this guy? he fine af" and watched some live performances only to realise I can't take my eyes off of him. Few months later, I made the efforts to become an army and found a bunch of his solo tracks aka Mono playlist and I remember breaking down into tears because how much I was feeling at that time. Sometimes, when I look back and think, even thought I might be considered late or something by many armies, I'd like to think that BTS (especially Namjoon) found me when I needed them the most. Mono was something I didnt know I needed then and honestly, its much the core reason as to why he is my ultimate bias. This song, Reflection is also truly one of my favourites and added into my comfort playlist along with Mono. I don't think I have seen someone have this many songs where I feel so relatable to and like idk cry my eyes out. Someone like Namjoon deserves all the love in the world. I understand that he may have made mistakes and hurt some people in the past but we are all humans, we make mistakes, we learn and we grow from them. And Namjoon is really a good example for that. At least, personally I'd like to believe so. My journey as an army hasn't been very long (Only since September 2021) but I'd like to say that they found me when I needed them and I hope in the process, I learn how to be there for myself and love myself too. Yes I might have come in after seeing his visuals but I'm staying for who he is as a person and genuine musician which reflects a lot in his songs which I absolutely admire and love.

I understand you. I know I'm 2 years late but i guess I'm kinda going through something similar. Like all of a sudden very recently, I wish I was better and maybe my existence isn't worth anything much. I try to ignore the fact that joon is one of the least popular and appreciated member within the group. After all, he is the leader who all members love. He’s recognized by so many famous, talented people, more than any other members. But it does make me very sad how the unequal love just so easily shows through. Such as when I only see comments about the maknaes and suga, when there are less views for videos of certain members, when I see more individual member stans than actual ARMYs.. I understand it’s natural for people to have favorites leading to most popular and least popular members forming in the group. But I really don’t want this amazing group called BTS to become anything like, let’s say, Jungkook and the 6 boys. It may seem like an exaggeration, but when you really keep in mind of the unequal love for the members and look back, it’s quite clear. I just wish all members could be treated equally though each one of us might have favorites. You know what I mean?

I don't understand how people can hate a person who tries his hardest to be perfect and who tries his hardest to be there for army and BTS... When I first started liking BTS, Namjoon was the first one I knew by name and by face and voice, he was my first bias... I fell in love with him and I love him so much.. If you love BTS and I mean truly love them then you wouldn't hate on a certain member you would love all of them just as much as I do...

I love all of the parts of BTS equally because they are all beautiful inside and out and I wish people would show more love for all of the members. We never really are nice to him and even the ARMY says he's ugly, but I think he's beautiful. Hyung line biased are mostly chill adults and like more mature things they are mostly around or over Kook's age.
Maknae line stans like more energetic things and I guess the majority is below Kook's age.
Maknae line stans get competitive over trivial things while Hyung line stans don't. That's a part of the reason for wide gaps.

I have to take this out of my chest, sorry if my English is bad, not my first language. I have been an Army for a long time now, about 4 years. People always told me things like "is just a phase" and that kind of thing. I actually had a phase of leaving the fandom for some months due to the fact that the things that people used to say about me and my taste in music were actually hitting me. I convinced myself that I didn't like their music anymore. It's been a month since one of my friends asked me to help her learn their names because she was interested in them. I saw all of the things that I missed. I felt guilty. Now, I'm back, enjoying their music again and getting memories of all the times that their music has helped me through the years. When I wanted to d1e, when I started s3lf h4arm1ng, etc. If I ever have the opportunity to be face to face with them, I would thank them for being with me, I will let them know that their music made me feel loved and that I slowly started loving myself thanks to them because, for a long time, they were the only people that I could trust.
You shouldn't feel guilty at all, this fandom can get quite toxic some times so "leaving" it is completely understandable... I'm also glad you're doing better now also thanks to BTS :) Good luck with everything.
I love Namjoon so much. He gets a lot of hate from supposed "ARMYs" but he still works so hard for all of BTS and never complains. To know that the world can come together and agree on their talent is a huge message to the world. Ignore the haters and come together to bring peace and happiness in this crazy world. I hope that they know how much they have brought so many of all ages, races, cultures together. I feel so part of a community after discovering them. I love all of the solos, but this, this really hits deep. It’s like he managed to pull out a piece that I didn’t know how to express, that I was ignoring and wrote it down. I cannot cry because tears do not come to my eyes, but I am overflowing with love and respect and care for Namjoon for writing this, knowing the demons that he faced in order to write this. Namjoon needs more love and support from us, because even if you think he is “ugly,” he is the leader and has kept BTS together and is one of the best human beings on this planet. This is the first of the solos that really struck me, because even if I felt bad and wanted to help them it wasn’t something I personally faced, but I know the feeling of not loving myself and feeling that even though this is my life I still feel a bit like a side character that no one really likes. Sydney hxl Sydney hxl yeah same here, i have a passion that i love and wanna carry out but it's a passion that i feel is bigger than me and it feels like a wall that i can't climb because it's too steep and tall, but what i have learned from BTS is that, no matter how tall or steep the wall, and no matter how long it takes you to climb it, enjoy the journey up it and when you get there, it is so worth it ^-^, and tbh i wanna try for BigHit soo bad, they seem like amazing people to work with
But they are in South Korea and i am in The U.S.A and It's not necessarily safe there atm with the conflict with North Korea going on atm, but i am willing to be patient and wait it out and hopefully soon it will ease out and i can try for it, cause i am positive i can do it and anyone else can do it too, i also really look up to BTS, they are my inspirations, i feel like it's weird but i kinda wanna follow in their footsteps and be as amazing as they are, yes trainee life is HARD but i am willing to work for my passion if it means one day i can express myself and communicate with people through song and inspire them, i wish you luck with BigHit, You can doo iittt!!!!! :D, don't let your dreams be dreams xD,
