I hate everyone who says Jin can't sing or dance that well and isn't talented... When he said he still clutches 6 flowers in his hand I realized he was talking about the other members and when he says that he can't touch the sky but he still wants to run a little more.. He must be singing about how he realizes that he's not going to be loved like the rest of them but he still wants to do his best..

Jin is the foundation of BTS, without him they would be lost. Their vocals would never be as strong and beautiful without him. Take Jin away and BTS would collapse (metaphorically)
He’s part of the group for a reason. If Namjoon, Hoseok, Taehyung, Jungkook, Jimin, and Yoongi can fly so can Jin or none of them can.
I feel the same way I am an only child so I had only my cousins who did so well like scoring in the top of the state and getting the best math while I was here with my mental problems not doing too great in school. My parents would be so disappointed and mad at me and never asked me why I was upset, it felt like I had a mask on. I felt like I could never be amazing like my cousins or the daughter that my parents wanted.

Someone should hold a birthday project to gather short letters that tells him what he means to us (there's a bd project to Hoseok similair way but quite different) and how much we love him. Maybe tell him that he can fly and keep on going. We see him improving even if he might not know it. Praise him. It was October 28th 2016. This was the first BTS song I listened to. I instantly felt understood, I instantly had a place I could comfortably cry. I followed BTS and supported them wholeheartedly for 3 more years after that. Things happened and I didn't have time for music anymore. I didn't have time to sit on social media, watch new releases, watch V-LIVE. I had a lot of happiness in those 3 years, and I had a reason to keep living. I don't listen much to BTS anymore, and I don't know how they are. I hope they're well. But I still come back to this song, I reminisce about how I was sitting on the edge of death, I was ready to leave the world until I found this song. I reflect on how far I've come since then. But thank you, Jin. You saved my life. And I know you saved many more people's lives too.
I hope you find time for them again - Jin did so many fun and lovely things right before he went into the military. Your comment moved me as much as Awake's lyrics do. I wish I had found BTS before I did (6/2020) but am so grateful for them, too. Take care!

I'm not an Army but I absolutely adore the Wings album so much. Each of the songs all hold such deep and personal meaning, I can't help but feel emo when listening. This song in particular because its meaning makes me feel so sad for Jin. Rather than feeling remorseful by the fact that he thinks he has no potential, it's as if he's saying that he already understands potential was something never meant for him. That he's 'wide awake' and has come to terms with the thought that he won't ever match up to the other members. Yet he still wants to struggle and pursue the harsh lifestyle of an idol--to be judged and criticized, but as long as he's at it, he'll hold the members close and not give up. Even on variety shows, Jin always says that his looks are what make him special as if it's the only outstanding thing about him. But no, Jin. This song is proof that you can fly, that you can reach greater heights. He tries so hard to keep up with the other members and has such a kind heart. I really hope he realizes how unique and talented he actually is. That was a long ass rant from someone who's not even an Army, sorry haha. Much love from a Shawol 💕

Why does listening to this makes me cry? Jin is the greatest thing that ever happened to BTS. Imagine BTS without Jin, it's not fun, not complete. Since I started listening and paying more attention to BTS in 2015, Jin has always been my favorite. I don't know what it was about him, but I never once thought that this guy was untalented. I hope people can see that he works just as hard as the other members do. It breaks my heart that he so directly sings about his concerns but tries to mask it just a little so maybe others won't catch on. As soon as this album came out I listened to this song before even listening to the title track, and I'm honestly there for Jin 100% of the way, and for the other members too! Although it's just a song, I would be so heartbroken if Jin ever left BTS. It must be hard for him as the oldest member to watch all of his younger members succeed "more" than he does. I always notice that Jin has less lines in the songs, it bugs me and then I get furious but then I think he doesn't look like he minds it. He's content with what he does, so as long as he's at peace then that's what matters the most. He's the nurturer of the group, so maybe he feels like he shines when his babies shine. And now he has quite a few solos to showcase his abilities. No one can deny his capabilities, and no one does. He's very subtle about it too. Joonie and Yoongi are his biggest fans and cheerleaders. I love seeing them adore his work.

I will never understand why people say Jin is not talented because it's just not the truth. He's so damn hard working. He practices his dances well and compared to all the other members, we know how much more difficult it is for him yet he just keeps on working hard and tbh, when I wasn't into BTS and i would look at their dance videos because I accidentally happened to stumble upon them, I couldn't even point out that he had difficulties in doing them and grasping them. Not only that but he has a fucking beautiful voice and this song just shows it. He doesn't deserve any hate he gets because he's just an amazing person.
