Adding in a new pitch using a data driven approach while focusing on on field performance

In Ted's last bullpen session we were looking to add in a new pitch that he could utilize against left handed hitters. We were searching for a slider with less movement and more velocity which would perform better against opposite handed hitters.
We were also searching for a pitch that he could throw for strikes and be able to utilize his pitch based off of his arsenal. His current slider was getting a ton of horizontal movement that was good in 2 strike counts but needed something that he can throw for more strikes as well.
Having good stuff is important but when developing attack plans and the needs for certain pitches to help turn over a lineup, adding in this new harder and shorter slider is crucial for Ted.
