An excellent system, the best I have ever encountered, Thanks!
Can't wait to see your SB Acoustics design. Great work.
Makes easy work of it for repetitive cuts.
5:59 doing a finishing pass with the router whilst holding the board terrifies me 😱
Looking forward to SB acoustics design as Punktkilde mid woofer no longer available
I used the same woofer on my wider baffle speakers. I used the 4 ohm version. Excellent driver for the money 💰
I am interested to see how this 6inch does, since the 5inch I have used before is really very good.
Hello, love your content! What kind of calculations and software do you use when designing your speakers? Chamber volume, port length, port alignments etc. What is your process?
I use a Dayton Audio DATS to measure specs for drivers, but most come with spec sheets. Box modelling is with WinISD or VituixCAD. Measurement with a UMIK-1 USB microphone and REW software, and crossover modelling with XSim or VitiuxCAD.
Great! You did do a super snugg template for the woofer. So nice and accurate. When done you tried with the woofer and it fit tight. Really tight. Shouldn’t there be a little more space, because of humidity and paint? Ok, material depending, but mdf, ply and hard wood do expand different when color is added. Should I add some 1/10 of millimetres?
Thanks. I think the video might make it look like it fit tight. I was actually just depressing the foam gasket and it looked like it was a tight fit. I always allow a bit extra when cutting a mounting hole, and in this case I did. So expansion and adding paint should not be a problem. But yeah, always allow a bit of tolerance. 👍
I think I have the same cordless router. It's amazing; you just need to use large batteries as small ones with few phases won't cut it (pun intended). But then it goes throuh MDF like butter, even at increased depth (whcih you shouldn't do of course). Also, you should step in front of the camera more often, you are very handsome.
Yeah, I use minimum 3Ah batteries in this machine. LOL, thanks! Hopefully over time it will become easier and more comfortable.
How do you manage shipping to RSA with Banggood?
In a country with no postal service you can only use the courier option that makes a lot of Banggood products cost the same as locally available products
I normally opt for Direct Shipping (Tax Free). It adds more than the normal shipping, but gets delivered via courier and still usually works out much cheaper than local products. It also depends though on what you buy.
Why didn't you just cut 2 templates with the laser, then glue them together?
That is definitely and option, but once you have a template it is quicker, easier and potentially more accurate for me to use the router and a flush trim bit. It eliminates glueing it where it might not line up accurately.
