Hi, i am Moiz Awan from Pakistan. i have completed my 3 year law degree from university. now how can i be a international lawyer. or how can i start my practice aboroad.
@@Salaarbites Good question. I have a video all about the options for practicing law in the U.S. as an international student or foreign-trained lawyer. You can check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/bSwQeARyEKM/v-deo.html
So this questions is for lawyers or law students: how is your life? Do you have a job like ? Do you feel like you have to keep working? Is there something that you are not able to live because you took on this debt?
Angela, thanks for the video. I have a question. If I attend a law school part time while working full time, I wouldn’t be able to find a legal internship. Would that put me at severe disadvantage in job market? How do other part time students overcome this obstacle? Thank you!
Good question, and it will largely depend on the relationship you have with your current employer. Some evening students are transparent with their employers that they are going to law school, and either (i) intend to leave the company, or (ii) want to move to the legal department side of the business where they currently work. Depending on the relationship, some legal employers have let students take off the 10-12 weeks of their summer to intern, and then come back full time during the semester. In other cases, students may not want to let the employer know that they're attending law school (or intending to leave), and so one potential option is to go through the interview process for your 1E summer, and based on the opportunities you're offered, decide if you would like to continue with your current job or take the legally-related opportunity. And make the same calculation for your 2E and 3E summers. :: That being said, I wasn't an evening student so I'm sure there's better advice out there that you get from people who actually experienced the process themselves. I would definitely recommend reaching out to the extremely generous evening-students-turned-lawyers who I interviewed to make this video (ua-cam.com/video/zZYwRZ5EImE/v-deo.htmlsi=YcOCAFXBbA22RmYm) to get their perspective.
This makes me more excited for law school. I kinda expected not to break through with a rich salary of 200k or even 100k fresh out graduation.. i expect 50-60 maby 70k max but hope to grow expeirnece and try to get into midfirms and stuff.
Hi Santania! That's awesome! I'm so glad the video could shed some light on the process and that it aligned with what you were thinking. I also host a free FB group for law students and aspiring law students looking for clarity and support in their law school journey, would you like the link to join?
I’m a foreign student , finishing my graduation in my country… I d like to do a master in USA, but I saw your video about the JD and I’m confuse if it’s better than a master or depends of my goals. Maybe a video about the difference between them could be interesting, anyway I love your videos!
Hi Maju! I'm definitely not an expert in the JD/LLM process for international students and foreign-trained lawyers, but I know a coach who is! Reach out on Instagram to @talithakrenk She knows all about the process and strategy and factors to keep in mind!
Hey Angela i am currently living in Algeria and i want to study in the US in the future,i wanted to ask if it was possible to work at a law firm after graduation and if so how would that work. Because I saw online that when you finish studies you can only get a visa to work in the US for one year. Could you please explain it to me
Hi Islam! I'm not an expert in this area, but I know a coach who is: reach out to @talithakrenk on Instagram, she specializes in helping international students and foreign-trained lawyers navigate the U.S. law school system.
Now, since BigLaw is NOT an outcome for around 90 percent of law students, nationwide--it might be more like 88 percent, but who's counting---what IS a likely outcome for a modern JD? "Temporary Document Review Projects" paying $22-$26 per hour. That's a far more common outcome for one of today's law school grads. If you're thinking about law school, consider something more lucrative, like becoming a truck driver instead. . .

@@AngelaVorpahl how can i contact you privately..?
This is very valuable information. Thank you, Angela.
My pleasure! I'm so glad you found it helpful! Are you thinking about law school as your next big thing? :)
So this questions is for lawyers or law students:
how is your life?
Do you have a job like ?
Do you feel like you have to keep working?
Is there something that you are not able to live because you took on this debt?
Yes I would love ❤️ to have that's money
long answer: nooooooooo
short answer: hell no
Well at least it's quite versatile. That's why I think it's better for me to go to a lower ranked law school like many MSU which is ranked #91 ?

Can you get a job with bachelor law of science without getting BAR EXAM? Please reply
Everyone has to pass the BAR exam if you actually want to practice law.
