Great information I'm currently pursuing my bachelor's degree in supply chain, Transportation, and Logistics management and I was looking to pursue a master's degree in supply chain analytics. I would love your input on this topic, thanks in advance.
Hi Arika! Do you think that the name MS 'Business Analytics' is a little misleading when employers look at someone's resume, or if they ask what Business Analytics is in an interview? I feel like many topics are learned in the degree, like Statistics, but because the name is Business Analytics, some employers may not value the degree or dismiss it as "Oh that's not Statistics", and end up going with another candidate.
Hi Prince! This is a great point. In my resume, I have highlighted the relevant coursework under my Masters degree with all of the coursework that might be relevant to a role in addition to the name of the program. The official name of my degree was Masters of Quantitative Management:Business Analytics. I have seen that employers usually have an idea that an analytics program is data centered.
Hey! Just came across your video and I love your insight on MSBA. I actually just started my MSBA program in South Florida and I’m really excited to take off on this new journey. You’ve mentioned statistics was part of your program and in my plan of study I don’t have any statistics course. would you say you use a lot of statistics on your day to day? How important is it in your career? should I take a statistics elective to brush up on my statistics skills? please let me know :)
Hi Taynara, congrats on enrolling in an MSBA program. I would recommend that you read the "statistics for business" book for some preliminary understand. It honestly helps alot to have some sort of statistical knowledge depending on the role you take after the program.
Hey Arika, amazing content! Kudos to you. I was thinking of also doing business analytics for master's degree but I'm not sure. Would you recommend me doing business analytics or just doing something else for master's?
Hello! If you do your BS in Analytics I would recommend you pursue something else for your grad program. Otherwise, it’s a bit redundant unless you hope to go deeper into gaining knowledge on the field.

Looking forward for your advice.
Hello! Yes, generally business analytics courses do require a math and programming. I would recommend you check out engineering management and masters in management programs.

Hi Arika. Im currently in my final year studying BSc Marketing. I’ve been thinking of 2 options in terms of Masters. Either I do MSc Business Analytics or I do MSc Marketing & Analytics. The only thing that’s slightly worrying me is the programming/coding aspect as I have 0 experience and skill in that. Although I do feel a MSBA could potentially lead to a wider range of jobs in comparison to studying MSc Marketing & Analytics. I just wanted your thoughts on this and any advice/suggestions you have. Thankyou.
Hi! Unless you are specifically interested in Marketing and that's what you see your career being for the next few years, I would go with the MSBA. I also had 0 experience with coding and just learned along the way. You totally got this!

Hey Arika. Could you share your views on MS-MIS vs MBA-MIS (dual degree) vs MSBA for someone who has done BBA in UG and currently a final year MS-Cybersecurity/Information Security from India. And aspiring for Master’s in USA. I really like your honest views. I have some specific questions. Do you mind if we connect.?
Hi Anika! It all depends on your career goals. For myself, I really like having a degree with a clear focus so that’s it’s not confusing for potential employers. The dual degree may be beneficial if it has a clear focus and you have a distinct idea of what to do with it. Otherwise, you may as well get a degree on one domain and focus your skills there. Generally, I only recommend getting an MBA after a few years of experience and not right out of school. If you get an MBA/MIS dual degree right out of school it may dilute the value. Again, this is just my personal opinion and there are a lot of factors to consider.
Hi Arika, Thanks for the informative video, please can you tell how the Masters in Business Analyst course by simplilearn , will any employer consider this course and Certification in USA, I am into Embedded Domain in India and planning to transition to Business Analyst role in USA
Hi Navya! I would recommend you that consider a traditional university instead of simplilearn. It may be viewed as more legitimate my employers. Good Luck to you!
Hi Arika, thanks for this video and it’s really informative, I work as a Software quality automation manager, And interested in Business analytics, should I undergo in an online certification or a masters?
Hey Ariks, great video! i just wanted to know if MSBA includes too much of programming or just a little bit of programming with more importance given to the management subjects.
Hi Samyak! I would say the focus of on an analytics program is on data and generally you utilize various programming languages to manipulate and analyze data. If you want to minimize programming I would recommend you can check out MBA/Ms in Management programs as well.

Hi Netanya! So sorry for the delay in replying. You are YOUNG, now is the time! Most students in the program I was in were around 24-25. This is great timing.
I am planning to go for MSc in business analytics and consultancy..in September intake ....from University of Heartfordshier..UK......I am basically from india ...so...my question is ..am i going right ..... Please help.. And yes ..are u Indian?
Hi Ankur! It looks like an interesting program with a blend of technical and problem solving courses. Do you plan to stay in the UK after graduating and have you spoke to others who have graduated from the program?
Hi mam , currently I'm a BBA student after that I like to take mba business analytics , as a BBA student is it easy to study business analytics pls reply 🥺
Hi Sandra! Thank you so much for your question. Firstly, I would recommend that you do an MS in Business Analytics rather than an MBA in business analytics if you are early in your career. This would give you the option of pursuing an MBA later if you are interested. Secondly, absolutely you can. I come from a psychology background and I was able to handle the coursework. You can do this!
Hello ma'am. I don’t have any basic knowledge in this field and about the topics that you covered but I'm going to study masters in this course. Will it be possible for me to pass it?
Hi Smit, thanks so much for the question. I would definitely recommend spending 2-4 months brushing up on the fundamentals of statistics and starting to learn SQL. It will be really helpful if you could even get an entry level role where you can work with data. This will really helpful you understand if you even want to pursue the masters based on your interests. Please let me know if can help in any way.
I have an MS in Mathematics but did my master's report in statistics using R Markdown. I have a lot of math and stats background, but lack a lot of programming skills. I basically learned R and R Markdown to write my report, but I loved the experience in exploring data and inference procedures. My university offers an MSBA (one year). Do you think it's worth it enrolling in an MSBA or learning the skills using Data Camp or other platforms that have boomed recently? I feel like enrolling in a university will keep me focused in learning and staying on track. I've tried to self-teach, but work keeps me busy even after hours.
Hi Vidal! Thank you for the comment, this is a great question. I would 100% recommend that you self learn with data camp/kaggle OR pay a tutor to take you through coding and give you assignments. Due to the high cost of investment with the additional year of your time and money, I think you can 100% self learn the skills especially since you already have an MS in Math(which is great for the field). You don’t necessarily need more school but just a good dose of disciple to self learn(or get a job with a focus on stats and learn on the job)
@@ArikaReddy I can self learn, I have many popular R books, but I guess I need to learn what platforms are in demand. I know Tableau, SQL, R, and python are top platforms. If you were me and with your current knowledge, what do you recommend I learn first, second, etc.
I would 100% start with SQL. That’s the most in-demand that you can learn the quickest. I would recommend you do a data camp course or two on intro to sql and then practice on leetcode. For Python, there is this book called learn Python the hard way that’s really good and I would start that next. Tableau can be learned the quickest out of all of them. It’s quick to learn but hard to master if that makes sense.
Arika, how much did it cost you to do Master's in BA? Please elaborate more on this including living expenses. Is the course curriculum easy or difficult to navigate through? Anything we can do to be better prepared for the rigorous curriculum?
Hi Ankit! I can make a part 2 in the future. It was about 55k for tuition and fees after scholarships. Living expenses were about 10k. Total it was about $65k but I did choose to go to a more expensive school. The curriculum was harder for me in the beginning because I did not have much of a programming experience. I would suggest learning SQL and R/Python and you should be very well set up.
@Arika Reddy Thanks for replying. I feel $55K is way too steep, especially for someone from India, considering the USD-INR exchange rate. This is what concerns me along with the H1-B uncertainty after graduation. Please make a video on three things: (1) Your experience while doing Master's - total expenses, courses you had to undertake, things you wish you had known earlier etc. (2) How easy/hard is it to get a job after graduation and the whole job hunt process. (3) What kind of work do you do at your workplace - like the kind of projects you do, tools you use etc. - maybe in detail. These things would be really useful for someone like me who plans on doing Master's.
@@ankit.kumar19 Hi Ankit. This would make for a really great series honestly, thank you for your request. I 100% understand your apprehension with both the loans and H1-B. I can go into that more too in the future. Stay tuned!
Hi Nithin! Thanks for the questions. How I personally view it is that a business analytics course is an umbrella that teaches you SQL, R/Python, Tableau/PowerBi and general business/statistics knowledge. Then, you can take this and apply it to a specific role such as that of a data scientist where you might use statistics and programming to help the business.
I'm in 3rd year of my degree in B.Pharm I want to join Business Analytics. Is there any basic computer language to be learned before joining? Is the job less stressful?!
Hi Vidhyagar, I recommend learning Python or R, as those are the most commonly used languages. You can also find jobs in analytics that don't require analytics. The stress level of the job depends on the company, typically consulting jobs are a bit more stressful than industry jobs but this is highly variable. Hope this helps!
Hey arika ! Brilliant informative session . I have a few questions will be greatful if you can answer the query (since I am planning to pursue MSBA from NY/NJ) 1)does the business analytics field involve hardcore coding ? I worked as a software engineer for 3 years while I can do coding ,it's not something I do enjoy a lot 2)what's the longevity of Data science / business analytics field overall ? Will it be taken over by automation or any other new skill after 10 years ? Thanks !!!!
Hello! Thanks for watching. 1.) Generally, yes, there is coding especially during a Masters program. However, when it comes to finding a role you can find more of a BI Developer role that does not require coding. There are plenty of roles like this that exist. 2.) I do think there is going to be more stable growth over the next decade but of course, the marketplace will look pretty different 10 years from now. I don't think Data Science will entirely get automated as you still need people to define the business model and construct appropriate models. There will also be a need for people that can speak the language of data and also understand business problems. It's hard to fully predict, but I am very optimistic about the future.
Hi Arika, I plan on getting a second masters in Business analytics, what's your take on that? My BSc was in Accounting and my first masters degree was in Management
Hello! I personally know people that have opted for a second masters. If you truly think that that's the easiest way for you to break into the field, it's not a bad option. I would first recommend trying to do some courses in data and integrating data into your day to day job and seeing if you can transition internally. Otherwise, a masters is a good option to consider.
Good content, but the background music while you speak is distracting and annoying.
Thank you!! So helpful to know. I’ve toned it down in future videos.

Do you plan to stay in the UK after graduating and have you spoke to others who have graduated from the program?
i have also applied to same course in uk did u got the admit
Hello bro
Evn I am looking forward to start my msc in business analytics in jan intake 23
Ping me
Hi mam , currently I'm a BBA student after that I like to take mba business analytics , as a BBA student is it easy to study business analytics pls reply 🥺
@@ArikaReddy thank you so much for your reply 💓
Hello ma'am. I don’t have any basic knowledge in this field and about the topics that you covered but I'm going to study masters in this course. Will it be possible for me to pass it?
Hi Smit, thanks so much for the question. I would definitely recommend spending 2-4 months brushing up on the fundamentals of statistics and starting to learn SQL. It will be really helpful if you could even get an entry level role where you can work with data. This will really helpful you understand if you even want to pursue the masters based on your interests. Please let me know if can help in any way.
MSBA vs MS Data Science which one is the best ?
Hello! This is my next video coming up. Stay tuned for it next week :)
@@ArikaReddy you're amazing for replying! Thank you
I completed my graduation in hotelmanagement can i join the BA industry???
Hello Vishnu! Are you interested in the data side or more of a IT business analyst type of role?
@@ArikaReddy analyst role, in that we have many options right !! Like , HR analyst, finance, marketing
@@vishnua3330 Yes, exactly right. You can specialize within a domain!
@@ArikaReddy if i go for MBA in HR is it possible that I can be a HR analyst and also a bussines analyst??
Stay tuned!
Do I have to get a masters in this or could I just get a degree in business analytics? Asking incoming freshman
Hi Mikey! You can totally get a bachelors in analytics if it's offered. If you do, then getting a Masters in it is not necessarily needed.
Hi Arika, Great Content and motivation for begginers👍👍Where did you do Msc? Which University
Hi Chanthuni! I studied at duke university.
Hey Arika is business analytics related to data science?
@@ArikaReddy hmm it sounds good thanks ❤️👍
From which university u did MSBA?
Hi Biswarup, my MSBA was from Duke's Fuqua school of business
I'm in 3rd year of my degree in B.Pharm I want to join Business Analytics. Is there any basic computer language to be learned before joining? Is the job less stressful?!
Hi Vidhyagar, I recommend learning Python or R, as those are the most commonly used languages. You can also find jobs in analytics that don't require analytics. The stress level of the job depends on the company, typically consulting jobs are a bit more stressful than industry jobs but this is highly variable. Hope this helps!
Background music is distracting alot
Hey arika ! Brilliant informative session . I have a few questions will be greatful if you can answer the query (since I am planning to pursue MSBA from NY/NJ)
1)does the business analytics field involve hardcore coding ? I worked as a software engineer for 3 years while I can do coding ,it's not something I do enjoy a lot
2)what's the longevity of Data science / business analytics field overall ?
@@ArikaReddy thanks a lot ! This was helpful
Hi Arika,
I plan on getting a second masters in Business analytics, what's your take on that?
My BSc was in Accounting and my first masters degree was in Management
Hello! I personally know people that have opted for a second masters. If you truly think that that's the easiest way for you to break into the field, it's not a bad option. I would first recommend trying to do some courses in data and integrating data into your day to day job and seeing if you can transition internally. Otherwise, a masters is a good option to consider.
If i haven't done Bachelors in business Analytics is it advisable for me to stufy masters in business Analytics?
Absolutely, if you are interested. I come from a psychology background and then pursued business analytics.
Which university did you attend to study Msba?
could we connect i have some query so if you can assist me further
Hi Mehul, most definitely. Please feel free to send me a message on LinkedIn :)
